About this restaurant

When you visit Chef Geoff's in Washington D.C.., you will quickly find out why it was voted Diner's Choice by OpenTable in 2016. This is just one of six restaurants opened by namesake Chef Geoff since 2000. Whether you choose to dine in the bright and cheery dining room or the outdoor patio, the highly trained staff at Chef Geoff's will ensure you have the best dining experience possible. The extensive menu created at Chef Geoff's showcases unique dining options you won't find anywhere else. Appetizers such as spiced plantain chips, grilled asparagus bruschetta and crispy brussel sprouts will prepare your palette. Bacon and bleu cheese mussels, wild mushroom ravioli and madras curry chicken are just three of the choices on the entree menu. If something more classic is to your liking, stick with standards, such as steak, pizza, or a burger. No matter what you choose, disappointment is not an option.

Never had a bad meal here over the last 5-6 years. I was at Chef Geoff's for dinner during restaurant week and we had an amazing dinner. This is a great place to eat!

A friend and I tried Chef Geoff's for lunch during Restaurant Week. Food: Most places only offer a limited menu for Restaurant Week, a few options for each course. Chef Geoff's actually offers their entire menu, which is pretty unusual and pretty cool. Service: We made a 1:30pm reservation, but decided to show up a little early (around 12:45). We knew the restaurant would be busy, but it was packed! Still, we only waited around 5 mins for a table. Not bad! Once we were seated though, the service went downhill. Waiter was friendly but not very attentive (and kind of awkward). We sat with empty glasses and had to wait a while after lunch for him to bring the check. It was busy, but we often noticed him just standing around. Kind of annoying.

because it was so good....The Cadillac Cesar -- with crab cakes on top. Made me not sad that I needed to only eat a salad.

I went to Chef Geoff's during Restaurant Week for lunch and the place was packed. I enjoyed that they offered the entire menu instead of a special menu to choose from during the Restaurant Week. I went with 3 other friends so we each decided to pick a different appetizer to share. We had the calamari that came with 3 sauces, coconut shrimp, tuna sashimi and crab cakes. All was delicious and the portions were very generous. I had a "big salad" with tuna. I chose the spinach salad which included strawberries, onions, it was very tasty. The desserts are always a treat! The service was excellent even though the restaurant was full and the ambiance was energetic which I enjoyed. I highly recommend this place it never disappoints.

The menu is wide for restaurant week, the most creative of the Capitol region. Truly satisfying in taste, originality, quality, and quantity. The portions were generous. The atmosphere was conducive for a working lunch. The service was challenged due to restaurant week. The staff helped to make this a special meal. Fantastic!

We came here for restaurant week and were amazed by the menu choice and portion size. After my warm bread and hoisin duck pancakes starter I was already too full for my shrimp and tolouse sausage which was disappointing as it was absolutely delicious! However I had it for lunch the next day and we also took out desserts home and ate them over two days so all in all it was excellent value.

Tuesday evening, we hosted a group of nine for a business meeting. The service was impeccable. Our server Johanna, provided great attention, even making sure that two late arrivals received their drinks and food with the rest of us. The spacing between the appetizer, entrée and dessert was perfect, and every meal was exceptional. My guests were very impressed. We host several business meals each year with out-of-town guests, and Chef Geoff's Downtown has become my #1 destination.

This is my absolute favorite restaurant during restaurant week. I love that they don't have a prefixed menu.
