   We went to Chef Geoff's downtown DC just prior to a concert...arrived early (5:45) and hoped to have a great meal and drinks in advance of the show. The wait staff was good...at least at keeping us waiting. Took half an hour for drinks & water, another hour for food (which didn't come as ordered), another 15 minutes trying to repair the order, and in the end, we ended up having to choke down our dinner so we wouldn't miss the show. Trying to get the waiters to clear empty plates, refill glasses, and check on the table seemed just too difficult for them. My guess is that everyone was new, and still figuring out their jobs - but the service was poor, and the food below average. We did like the burgers, so that's a safe bet. But there are plenty of better burger joints in downtown DC. We'll try these others the next time.

   I usually LOVE Chef Geoff's but this experience was awful. I was seated on time, which was great, and we enjoyed some some cocktails and appetizers, but our food order was never submitted. So time ticked away and we were headed to an 8:00 p.m. show. By 7:30 we were getting very worried and found out we wouldn't be getting our food (of course, we had already finished our bottle of wine...). There was no apology from our waiter, in fact he was obviously avoiding us after the snafu was revealed, though a manager did offer free dinner for us if we came back after the show (although I'm not sure that would have actually worked since the manager didn't tell us his name, etc.). Also, coming back after a show doesn't work when you're paying a babysitter and have to get home. I was surprised our appetizers or cocktails or SOMETHING were not taken off the bill. Very disappointing evening at Chef Geoff's. Probably won't go back to this location for awhile.

   Food was very good as always, however, my tuna with soba noodles consisted of 4 slices of tuna, seemed like more of an appetizer portion. Server was friendly, but did not appear well trained. We asked about aperol and she did not know. She asked the bartender and informed us that it was a liqueur (we already knew that!) we were looking for more information. Also, I asked about herb tea and she told me about all the teas some of which were not herb/caffeine free. In addition, dessert was offered after I had my cup by simply asking - dessert? We have visited your store on several occasions, and have been very please, however overall we were a bit disappointed with this visit.

   Chef Geoff's worked out very well for a special event I organized for five people. The criteria were that the ideal restaurant for this would need to be elegant, quiet, varied menu, not too high-priced, a good celebratory atmosphere but also appropriate for a business meeting, and within walking distance of our starting point. Chef Geoff's met all of these criteria very well, particularly being located in the downtown/convention center area of DC where many of the restaurants are listed as "loud". Well-done all around!

   This is a good place to go for lunch in the Federal city area. Close to several major government buildings. Efficient good service. Good food.

   We had a group of 11 and It was no problem fitting us in. Oh and the best part -- no issue separating checks at all! Great place to celebrate your birthday or special event . You can dress up or semi casual and you will fit in.

    Food and service were superb, excellent attention from team on food and drink orders for our group of 6. Restaurant was loud as usual, but that is expected especially on a Friday night. Quality and taste of food is worth the noise level. Portions were just right.
