We always enjoy our girl’s birthday celebration at Chateau.
Best brunch ever. Great atmosphere and service.
Csnt wait to go back when its warmer!
Wonderful and cozy dining atmosphere with cozy fireplace in dining room and main lobby area. A must do restaurant off the Blue Ridge Parkway!
This was the firat time that i have been to the restaurant and really enjoyed everything! Our waitress, food and beverages were absolutely wonderful!! Will definitely recommend to others and am already planning a trip back for the spring amd summer
We arrived with our out of town guests with a confirmed reservation and they were staff there but stated they were closed for day— no one had a explanation— the door said they were opened but the people were taking down decorations and did not have a clue what we went wrong and they went looking for a “Matt” but came back said said they could not find him but stated they he world call call me ——- he has not called me. — this reservation was made thru open table and confirmed the day before — very very embarrassing for us but bad for our guests— we also 2 other guests come up with same issue
Lovely, cozy atmosphere, nice staff and tasty food menu for New Year’s Eve! We love their wine, it’s our favorite in this area! Thank you!
This is one of our favorite places to go. However, I believe the restaurant was a bit overwhelmed that night. It took fifteen min to be seated even though we had reservations. The dining room we were in was very drafty and chilly. There were employees who changed the thermostat at least four times but still didn’t help. We saw at least three tables of guests be moved to another room. Took a long time to get our food. The pork and beans was just ok because the sausage was dry. The lamb chop was luke warm so we sent it back for another one. It also had a lot of fat. The waitress was definitely overwhelmed. She took our order and then came back thirty minutes later to write it down again because she lost it. Then she couldn’t remember if we got our entree or not. We were disappointed with the overall experience but it may not keep us from coming back.
Went there New Year’s Eve with some friends. The food was divine the staff was awesome and overall it was absolutely wonderful. I would highly recommend!!
We had a lovely evening for New Years. The food was delicious and portions were generous. Thank you for a great evening
As always, the food was incredible and the staff fantastic. By far one of my favorite places to eat!!
We always enjoy Chateau Morrisette, a lovely dinner, a table near the fireplace., and careful service.
Excellent food & drink, & we were treated like royalty.
My wife and I went to the Chateau Morrisette restaurant as our Christmas to each other. We read the good reviews and were expecting a great meal. It was so good that it exceeded our expectations. The appetizer was awesome and the entrees were exceptional. The service was attentive but not overly so. It was a great experience and we will return soon.
What a beautiful, wonderful, peaceful place. The wine was absolutely fabulous and I'm a snob. We visited with friends from California who enjoyed the wine and couldn't believe it was Virginia wines. What I loved most about the place was the food. Simply wonderful. Not to mention our fantastic waitress Jennifer! Really great job!
We had a lovely experience. Our waiter was excellent, sorry we do not remember his name. It was 12/23 and a large party was going on in another room. His service was excellent and the food was great.
Excellent all around, especially the food. So nice to eat a meal where every item was fresh, seasoned, and perfectly cooked. Even the Caesar salad was perfect with home made dressing with a hint of anchovy.
It is always a treat for us to dine at Chateau Morrisette. Even though it takes us an hour to get there, the drive on the Parkway is always delightful regardless of the time of year that we go. Our experience yesterday was exceptional from the time we walked through the tree decorated walkway until the time we were served excellent food. Compliments to the chef!! Our server was especially obliging and helpful to make our meal and time there most enjoyable. We feel fortunate to have such a superior facility close enough to enjoy.
Great food and wonderful relaxing environment
We had the best time at the chateau morisette restaurant. We first did wine tastings across the way then ate lunch. The service was great and the drinks and food delicious. Good for babies too— they provided a high chair and there was a changing table in the rest room. Incredible views from our table.
We try to get to Chateau Morrisette at least once a year — and more, when we can manage a visit to the Blue Ridge Parkway. We've usually had excellent experiences here, and this one was no exception. We opted for lunch rather than dinner, but our food was no less stellar than the best evening meals we've had here. I had the cheeseburger—smashed double patty, cheddar, caramelized onions, and dill pickle aioli—which was cooked perfectly medium (and those two patties are NOT small). Ms. B. had the Cobb Salad; most delicious. We chose the Petit Verdot to accompany, and it was fabulous (a major compliment for a Virginia wine); aromatic, bold, full-bodied with an old-world flavor. An excellent round mouth feel.
We look forward to returning.
Having been going to Chateau Morrisette for more than 20 years. Can't beat the setting, nor the food. Lovely and cozy during the winter months, too. Worth the drive.
We love the winery! We bring out of town guests and close friends every time we get the chance especially around Thanksgiving!
Always a wonderful experience!!! Location is beautiful, food is fantastic and wine is excellent.
As always, the service was excellent, as was the food and ambiance. Thans!
Food was wonderful and they were very responsive to dietary restrictions.
Good variety on brunch menu. Everyone at our table enjoyed their meal. Service was excellent... attentive, listened to our requests and followed through quite well. Ambiance always excellent in old section of the dining area.
The table next to us was extremely loud. We waited almost 15 minutes before we were greeted and asked for our drink order. The food took a long time to come and I had to ask the waitress for my salad. It came out at the same time as my main dish. The food was good but the experience lessened it. To the waitress’ defense, she was extremely sweet and apologized but clearly needed help that she didn’t seem to have. She seemed overwhelmed.
Brought my family with me from NC and my cousin is a chef. She was not impressed. I had hoped for more.
Great place to meet old friends! We had a great time and a great meal.
I have been a customer for years and always recommend them to friends and acquaintances. Fabulous place. Wonderful people.
A nice destination to meet and to see friends who we see infrequently.
The roasted Brussels sprouts appetizer was fantastic. They were served with a whipped feta and lemon sauce. The roasted red pepper tomato soup was next and was delicious. We also ordered the local grass fed hamburger and shredded pork with apple chutney. Everything was fantastic.
Great, private place
Chateau Morrisette is a very nice place to go for a quiet intimate meal. It's located in a beautiful setting off of the Blue Ridge Parkway. The staff was very friendly, the service was attentive without feeling like they were hovering over you. We had an interesting watermelon appetizer, which was very good. I had the catfish, it was outstanding.
Always been a favorite of ours. The shrimp and grits were delicious per my husband and his brother. I had the fried chicken with collards grits and mustard gravy. I loved this dish. Creme brulee was a great dessert.
This used to be a really outstanding restaurant. The menu has changed, and not only are the selections unimaginative but they aren't even good. There for brunch, I had the crabcake on a biscuit with "tomato gravy". The "gravy" basically reminded me of canned tomato bisque. My husband had the Chateau breakfast? - basically eggs and bacon - and it was terrible. It's not that hard to scramble eggs and cook bacon. Also, service was sloooooow, and it wasn't busy. The only saving grace is the location is still prime and Mother Nature did not disappoint.
This was our second visit, and the first visit was vastly superior. On this most recent visit, we were seated and given water, then we proceeded to sit. And sit. And sit. We did not get our drinks for at least 30 minutes. Service was extremely slow, for no apparent reason. I also had concerns with the value of what we ordered. The cheese board appetizer had only 2 tiny slivers of bread and a teaspoon of jam to go with the three pieces of cheese, so one of us went without. $8 cheese boards are usually more generous in other restaurants. Only the brunch menu was available, which was disappointing.
Everyone in our party of 7 loved their food selections. The 2 white wines we ordered were excellent (Viognier and Petit Manseng). Prices very reasonable for a top flight experience. If we are ever back in the area we will definitely go back.
The Brunch menu was too limited. No burgers to choose from left my party disappointed.
Great food. Wonderful service. Very enjoyable day!
Always a good place too eat and spend time..
