Outrageously expensive drinks. The 4 of us were charged $40 ea for a Nolet Gin Martini. We were $160 lighter and hadn't even ordered anything to eat. No doubt, it's a nice place but who wants bills like that?!
I have dined, and stayed at the Chateau more times then I can count, so trust me with what I leave below.
Service is ALWAYS insanely slow. Waiters are always unfriendly and only concerned if you are a celeb or not. Since i only dine here if i am staying here, we are seated at the guest tables. So even then, the waiters give you zero respect.
That said. The food is always good, when it arrives. Great atmosphere, and iconic.
Do us all a favor, fire your restaurant’s middle management and teach the staff how to serve patrons who are spending thousands of dollars a night to eat and sleep at your property.
Gorgeous environment and excellent food and staff!
It’s been a couple of years since we were there, but from what we remembered of importance was that they had and helpful, friendly, professional staff. Very magical atmosphere, decor is lovely. Excellent array of food options. It’s definitely a destination dining recommendation.
A great spot, excellent food, amazing service. We were treated so nice and its such a lovely atmosphere we will for sure be back.
One of my favorites, for everything! The quality of the food, the high-calibre service, the beautiful dining room, the charming ambience, even the ease of parking.
Always amazing. An icon that can’t be beat. The soft scramble eggs are awesome.
Excellent experience in an iconic restaurant in Los Angeles. Service is very attentive and very friendly, the food was much better than it had been previously, and the "old Hollywood" glam cannot be beat. Must on a Los Angeles itinerary
Awesome place great to hang out for all you tourist this is a great location definitely something to see if you want to come to LA
The ambiance can't be beat. This place is an iconic gem, for sure. Our server (Kat) was outstanding. Our meal was overpriced, the food was OK, but you're in this beautiful place and that is what you're paying for.
What a disappointment. Terrible service and bad condescending attitudes!
Service was quite slow and food overpriced. The atmosphere was lovely, however.
Love the ambience. The food is good enough. You have to be ready for the pretense but it's sort of worth the beauty of the setting.
What a fun, relaxed atmosphere and the food did not disappoint. The blueberry pancakes with lemon were so incredibly delicious!! And, spotting a well-known television host was really cool.
Wonderful Japanese restaurant, I highly recommend it.
Perfect all week long! Everything on the menu was delicious, and I would never stay anywhere else!
Almost impossible to get reservations if you're not staying there. Call the day before or the day of to see if anything is available. Restaurant is primarily outside in a large covered patio. Very much a clientele of the beautiful and powerful. Good food, very good service.
I continue to love the restaurant at the Chateau Marmont, especially for breakfast when the garden patio is just a wonderful place to be. My favorite thing about CM is the service. To many who are used to rushed brunches and lines out the door it might feel slow, but it's designed to be like that. It's relaxed. It allows you to have a proper conversation with a friend without having the bill being thrown in your face 3 minutes after you've finished eating. It's breakfast/brunch as it should be. I understand why people come here often on the weekends. It's a wonderful little sanctuary where one can catch up with good friends or simply do some thinking while having a meal. Sure the prices are a bit high but overall it is well worth it. I would rather pay a little bit more to have a great experience than a bit less to be rushed out of the door by 3 women with strollers talking about their kids pre-preschool and staff who can't be bothered to be there.
Great experience. Visiting from abroad and didn’t disappoint. Lovely ambience and old Hollywood vibe...kids were comfortable, Chad really looked after us thanks ***
Great vibes to just get-together and talk with friends you haven’t seen in awhile. Service was slow, attention to detail isn’t there. Water was never refilled, I had to ask every time, table was wobbly, there was a chip in my double rocks glass I had to send it back( they charged my for both drinks), the second waiter forgot our entire order. The runner (might have been new) kept dropping us food we didn’t order. If we weren’t super into our conversation, and the atmosphere wasn’t so warm I would have rated this differently. Our initial waiter Phil really made up for it though he took my critiques and built off of it instead of going back and forth, at the end we left happy but the staff needs more training or maybe they just need to pay attention.
Had a great Sunday brunch there with my friends and family. Beautiful seats in an atrium - diffuse lighting, good food, good drinks. Really enjoyed it. Not too busy.
Myself and my friend were treated like absolute queens. Made our experience so special we couldn’t stop beaming. So, so, so beautiful too! Absolutely recommend seating outside.
Hard to beat history and ambiance of this place. Food was very well done too: interesting menu options like ricotta toast with lavender honey. Straight-up hamburger was excellent - one of the best I've ever had. Service was on it. Patio is a little oasis in the city.
It was great!
Beautiful setting in this iconic hotel. I had brunch with my daughter out on the patio. The food and service were both excellent.
We loved our visit to the chateau marmont restaurant. Perfect hotel and setting off sunset blvd. food was fantastic and staff are very helpful. Will definitely visit here again.
HORRI BLE MY DAUGHTER COULD NOT EVEN EAT PAID 69 DOLLARS FOR BREAKFAST.STAY AWAY.
Absolutely beautiful restaurant inside the Chateau Marmont hotel. The entrance was a little difficult to find but beyond that - the seating is located inside a garden-like atmosphere next to the famed Chateau lobby. It was one of the most beautiful breakfasts I've ever had. Worth every penny. And side note - the eggs were the best I've eaten. And they were just scrambled eggs! But somehow they were magic.
Had a good time. Food is expensive but it's Hollywood and the Marmount.
We came here for breakfast and sat in the patio which is pretty and quiet. The service was attentive and the food and coffee excellent. I had yoghurt and berries which is easy and my husband had the breakfast burrito which he loved
This is one of those places that is all name yet no substance. Food is extremely subpar.
We were greeted by a lovely hostess and escorted to the patio and met Jose, our server. Quick, friendly staff, food beautifully prepared. Definitely if you're in LA, you have to make a reservation for the Marmont experience, very old Hollywood. We came for the history and weren't disappointed. Attracts a celebrity clientele so no photos allowed, although they did take one for us away from the tables.
Great atmosphere, nice patio area. Definitely worth the visit, but not the cheapest...
Beautiful brunch love coming here so peaceful in the garden
What can you say, the place is iconic. The ambiance is wonderful, so cozy. The outside restaurant is so cozy. A lovely little sanctuary away from the LA hubbub.
The food was bland and the service. Beautiful garden but that's the eye catcher. That and the history i guess.
Menu was underwhelming and the omelet was just sad. The Benedict eggs were not runny. Overall a really bad representation of Andre Balazs
Outstanding brunch. Wait staff friendly. The surroundings outside were pleasant. The issue is you are a slave to the noise levels of other patrons and sometimes distracting to your own enjoyment. Tough to avoid in the setting.
The ambiance of the restaurant is what truly makes this place unique. You get a home feeling of old Hollywood. Service is moderate, nothing against Hispanics but they have hired a lot of them and at times it was difficult to understand them when ordering or interacting with the staff. Overall the food was very good, but not the best I have had. Best for a casual lunch or dinner out with friends but certainly not a place to go if you want good friends. It's mainly about the environment and being in the Chateau.
Always guaranteed great food and great service
