Consistently great. Cannot go wrong.
Food was superb, service was outstanding! They also were very careful to properly social distance everyone with plastic dividers. I felt very comfortable dining here! This is a must-visit restaurant for us when we visit St. Louis!
Huge thanks to Thomas for making our evening very special. Dining out these days you worry how the experience is going to differ from what once was. Charlie Gitto's is always on point and thankfully COVID hasn't robbed them of what makes them great. They make you feel like family every time you walk in the door. Thomas was great with wine and special suggestions. We had the swordfish special and rock shrimp and lobster spaghetti special. I don't stray to far from my typical favorites but I'm glad I did. Followed up with the chocolate cake which was freaking huge and delicious. We'll be back of course!
Customer service was on point!
Can’t wait to go back!!
The best Italian dining experience on The Hill/St. Louis, by far. Service is outstanding and the food is perfect!
great service and food
Amazing food and amazing atmosphere!
One of our favorite places on The Hill! Food is always great and service is outstanding.
Family outing for daughter’s birthday. The service was attentive and courteous. Entrees were all very good. Wide variety of gluten-free options. I would have preferred the temperature of my veal parmigiana to be slightly hotter but didn’t steal from the overall flavor. HIGHLY recommend the limoncello cake for the pinnacle to the experience. Dinner on the Hill is always good. Dinner at Charlie Gitto’s was a pleasure.
Outstanding service. Daniel(waiter) was top notch. Food was week prepared
The food was outstanding! Can't wait to return. Service is top notch as well.
This is a favorite of ours and tonight didn’t disappoint. The scallops special and lobster bisque were excellent. Service was superb. Absolutely no complaints. I highly recommend dining here.
Great service and food that never disappoints. Once you treat yourself to this St. Louis landmark, you will make it a tradition to return time & time again.
Fancy, attentive wait staff, exceptional Italian. Toasted ravioli was excellent. Chicken Parm was world class.
I take everyone who comes to the city here. Literally my favorite place to eat in Saint Louis.great food, the staff is cool as hell, and the price is very fair. Drinks are solid too.
Service was amazing! Food was delish! Great social distancing. Love this place!!
Birthday celebration. Everything was wonderful. Timothy was fantastic.
We love this place. We go every Thursday. As great as usual.
Wanted some decent Italian. Was very happy with the overall atmosphere and food quality. Very flavorful. Felt very safe there as well with all the covid restrictions. Will gladly go again.
Food was below par compared to the other restaurants within blocks but much more expensive. House wine tastes like grape juice. Not sure if they were having an off night or trading on a good name from the past but we were disappointed.
Great food, friendly service. Smart and casual interior with relaxed atmosphere.
My husband wanted to take me out for a date to a very nice, elegant restaurant for dinner. We hardly go anywhere because of covid.
Upon entering the gentleman who was to seat us had his mask below his nose, this made us very uneasy. It did not feel like there was much social distancing. There was plastic barriers between tables though. It felt crowded. We ordered our dinner ( veal cutlet parmesan) and had a very good bottle of wine. We were served warm dry bread. ( I thought we would have fresh Italian bread). The dinner was served. It looked good, but upon tasting it, it did not taste like it was cooked very well. It tasted like flour on top of poor quality veal. The veal was cooked but the breading was not. The pasta was ok. We ate a little bit, we were extremely disappointed. My husband decided to ask for the bill which was over $100.00. We paid and left. It’s just not a good feeling when you spend so much and the quality of the food is poor as well as not feeling like the restaurant was following proper covid protocol. My husband said it use to be a fine dining experience but the quality and the ambience was far from the way it use to be.
I would not recommend this restaurant. It’s a shame that a place with such a good reputation has such poor quality food and not follow covid protocol.
Charlie Gitto's never disappoints!!!!! This was our fourth year coming down to celebrate our anniversary. Our Server, Joe was awesome!!!!
Absolutely fabulous! I'm Italian, specifically Sicilian, and I'm very picky about going out for Italian food. Our food was fabulous. Our wait staff was attentive, but never hovered. Suzanne was very knowledgeable about the wine and directed us to a wonderful choice with our meal. It was my husband's bday and they treated us to a dessert! It was wonderful, and we will be back as soon as we can be!
Our waiter Tomas was fantastic - very entertaining, and extremely helpful when asked questions regarding the menu. Unfortunately, we went during COVID, and at some points the restaurant bar became a tad crowded for my liking, but our tables were separated by large plexiglass dividers, which I appreciated. We also showed up for our reservation a little early, but were welcomed to sit at their bar and have a drink while we were waiting. They also brought us a piece of cake since it was our anniversary, which we both really appreciated and that cake was fantastic! Tasted just like a cannoli :)
We will definitely dine here again!
Timothy is an outstanding server. We highly recommend Gittos! It is our 'go to' place and we know we will get a great meal with great service!!
We love this place. The staff is wonderful and the food is amazing.
I came here with my boyfriend to celebrate our four year anniversary. I loved the ambiance and the candles on the tables and the lighting outside as well. It was an amazing experience and we both enjoyed our dinner there. The service was amazing and we were treated so well. The food was delicious and the portions were large as well. They even gave us a slice of cake to share at the end as well. Our waiter was prompt and checked on us many times. I really recommend Charlie Ghitto's for an anniversary or any event you want to celebrate.
This was a quality Italian restaurant. The food was good, and the service excellent.
The only downside was the price. Paying over sixty dollars per person (plus tip) for meals was too pricey for me - for a couple of chicken dinners and some wine. This was almost twice as much as we paid for another place nearby on the Hill....
This restaurant has the best calamari I’ve ever eaten! The steak was delicious and gnocchi augraten are to die for. The staff were very polite and on point with service. I just wish I lived closer because Charlie Gittos would be my all time celebration dinner spot.
From entry to exit, the experience was absolutely phenomenal. The drinks were delicious and not outrageously priced like you find almost everywhere else. The food was out of this world, from the calamari Friti appetizer, we knew we were in for a treat. Any time I come back through St. Louis, I will make it a point to come back. This is an absolute must visit type place.
Went for our 2 year anniversary and our waiter was amazing with giving us information about the dishes and even brought us a free dessert. The bread appetizer is so delicious and soft and the food was amazing. 10/10 experience
I had a wonderful experience eating at Charlie Girtto’s on the Hill. The service was excellent and the food Stupendous.
Everything was absolutely amazing!
We dined on the patio on a beautiful night. The heaters and jazz added to the ambiance. The food and service were both awesome.
Great food and service. Evryone was very nice. Can't wait to go back.
The interior needs an update. The dress code isn’t enforced. The waiter (Thomas) was questionable at best....The food was satisfactory/ok. For $125 pre gratuity I expected more and you should too.
Once again a fabulous dinner at Charlie Gittos. Derrick the Madre De was gracious as always, greeting us as old friends. We had a wonderful new waiter, Tim who entertained us while being an attentive waiter. My wife and I both had the specials of the evening. I had the scallops and pork belly. An interesting combination but delicious. My wife had the special lobster/ shrimp pasta in a garlic butter sauce. Derrick provided a complimentary charcuterie platter as an appetizer and Italian Wedding cake as dessert. I love this place! Thanks to the whole Charlie Gitto team for a wonderful dinner.
