About Charley's Steak House I-DRIVE
Charley's Steak House is owned by the Woodsby family and has operated in Florida since 1974. Charley’s philosophy of providing only the finest extends from the kitchen to the wine cellar. The wine list approaches 1000 selections from scores of exceptional wineries around the globe. Charley's Steak House I-DRIVE Ratings and Reviews
First time here definitely not my last I did a review on the menu before going in so I kind of already knew what I wanted to order. The presentation of the meat was awesome my waiter did a fantastic job explaining each piece of meat it was just all around A great experience! The food was delicious the service was great what more could I ask for.
way too crowded and seemed liked they overbooked...i mean busy is fine but having to wait 45 minutes when you book a reservation two months ago is akin to olive garden not the “top independent steakhouse in america”....would rather visit mortons, capital grille etc at least they know how to manage their reservations....gaggle of a hundred people waiting to be sat when i walked in...steak was good but whole ordeal took four hours!!!!!
I would not even recommend this restaurant. Made our reservations 4 weeks in advance. They seat 5 of us in a booth so tight we had to ask to be moved. They stuck us on the patio (a little cold)... and WE had to turn on the heaters ourselves. Waiter was no good at all. We had to ask for EVERYTHING. Steaks we ordered medium and came RAW. No salt and pepper on table...drink refills were slow to come and food was cold. Manager came out and knocked our bill down which did us no good at all because we had purchased a promo for $100 get $25 free...(They called us the week before reservation with offer) so just got a credit back on the card. Steak comes with salad but everything else is extra...and expensive! Save your money and go somewhere else....They cater to big parties and us little groups get shoved into corner!
Charley’s on I drive has been our favourite restaurant for years, however our experience on Tuesday left us very disappointed.
1) I asked for a sparkling water, only to be told they’d sold out! How can a restaurant of this size sell out of sparking water. And there’s a seven eleven across the street, surely Someone could at least go buy some from there so that customers are able to drink What they ask for!
2) at the bar there was only 1 person serving a full bar so she was so rushed I got half a glass of cosmopolitan rather than a full one.
3) the server in the dining room was looking after way too many tables and could not possibly attend to everyone as required. My husband and I had to pour every drink ourselves. I’m not saying we can’t do that but when you pay $800 for a meal out with wine you expect the service to be better than that! Our server disappeared for 10-12 minutes at one point leaving everyone in the restaurant needing his assistance the second he walked back in, so we waited 20 minutes for a bottle of water!
4) I ordered lobster and their “special of the day “ a 1lb Madagascar shrimp!! At a cost of $25. It seriously cannot have weighed more than 4oz. Although it was very tasty, unlike the lobster, which was inedible! It was so dry our server had to use a steak knife to remove it from the shell and use a sawing action to remove it! Therefore resulting in cracked shell all over my plate!
5) I ordered truffle butter as it’s my favourite side that they offer in Charley’s and perfect with the lobster. When it arrived at the table it was as frozen as ice cream and not at all suitable to be served. Our server did take it away and brought it back completely melted.
We have come away very disappointed and feel the price we paid does not reflect the experience we received. next time we will likely look for an alternative restaurant. I would go back and give Charley’s another shot in the hope it was a one off and maybe just short staffed on the night.
The best steakhouse ever! There wasn’t one thing to complain about. From beginning to end, our waiter Matt was phenomenal, the salad, bread, our steak, everything was absolutely amazing! My husband and I were in Florida just for the night and wanted dinner somewhere classy. We had about 5choices, but not everyone had reservations available for New Years Eve; So happy we chose Charley’s! Will definitely dine with Charley’s again if we’re in Orlando!
We had a wonderful New Year's Eve dinner with a party of eight. This is a must visit whenever we are in Orlando. We had flown some special wine with us from California and the champagne and white was immediately taken from us to keep chilled until serving. Service, as always, was friendly and attentive. Several of our guests (friends of our daughter) had never eaten at a steakhouse of this caliber and said the steaks were the best they had ever had. There is something about that citrus wood that adds a subtle, unique flavor. Cauliflower - amazing, bread - awesome. Recommend without reservation.
My family and I had gone to one of the area hotels for a ice sculpture exhibit. It was very cold at the event and so we weren't really dressed for an upscale dinner, but opted to go ahead. We were greeted warmly and felt welcomed by everyone. Kahn and his team did an outstanding job through the entire meal. The food was outstanding! See you again soon!!
My husband and I used to frequent Charley's on Orange Blossom Trail, which was the original location. We were heartbroken when they closed; heartbroken because of the nostalgia.
We were hesitant to try the Charley's I-Drive location, fearing it wouldn't be the same and too 'touristy'.
We we VERY pleasantly surprised by the entire experience at I-drive! Same awesome quality, much better neighborhood, and we had a fabulous celebration of life!
This is our second time visiting Charley's as a family and once again we have enjoyed everything. From the vast wine selection to the beef presentation. Plus, the staff does everything to answer your questions and provide very good service. Looking forward to our next visit.
Our experience at Charley’s was just fantastic. I confess I didn’t have great expectations, because I thought it was just one more of those chain restaurants. I was utterly wrong. The food is delicious and the service is amazing. Mr. Don attended us flawlessly. We ordered fried mushrooms as a starter, as a suggestion of Mr. Don himself) (the mushrooms were the star of the night in our opinion) and shared a 24 ounce Wagyu Ribeye. A fine bottle of Spanish Rioja Reserva Red Wine escorted our meal. I totally recommend this restaurant. Thank you for the great Xmas Eve my family and I had. We’ll definitely come back!
