Charleston's Restaurant - Castleton
Food was only adequate. Service attention was slow. Will not return
All entrees prepared well; we ordered the Trout special and an a chicken based entree from the standard menu. The menu continues to be diverse and has something for everyone. My only comment regards the special menu; it doesn’t seem to change. It would be nice to rotate the fish and beef specials.
My husband, myself and another couple went out for a date night. We wanted something a little more upscale, as we all have younger children. This was our opportunity to eat something beyond chicken nuggets and fries. :) Charleston's was wonderful. We had a 5:30 reservation. I would recommend a reservation beyond 5:30 because the restaurant began filling up fast. The inside is more on the masculine side. Dark finished wood, exposed brick and leather booths. It was very nice. The menu had a lot to offer. I enjoyed the sirloin steak with garlic mashed potatoes. The steak was cooked perfectly, medium. The potatoes were overly peppered...almost spicy. They were good but not what I expected. I had hoped for more garlic and not much pepper. My husband ate chicken fingers. They were hand battered and delicious. The other couple enjoyed bbq ribs and a chicken dish. All were outstanding. The cocktail menu is good, too. I don't recall our waiter's name but he was outstanding. All the servers were great. We will be back. Thanks!
My friend and I ate at Charleston's on a Saturday evening for his birthday. Our waiter was phenomenal. He was helpful, courteous and right on with his wine recommendation. My friend had ribs and I had a filet. Both were excellent! We will be back.
Great restaurant to meet with family and friends. Seating is reflect for conversations, without having to contend with music or even the conversations of other groups. Never have had a better experience with food and service. My favorite restaurant!
I normally visit the Carmel location because it's closer, but couldn't get a table for Father's Day there. The Castleton location had much more open availability for a reservation but the food and service was no different than what I am used to. I would highly recommend this location.
Seafood special was very good, well prepared! Better than last visit when fish was over cooked.
This is our go to place in Indianapolis. We’ve never had a bad meal there. We’ve had extended family dinners there and even our pickiest eaters were very happy. We especially like the ribs and chicken combo and the Walt’s Champagne Chicken salad is super tasty.
The server was very un-attentive. We got right in but sat for about 10 minutes before a trainee came and got our drink order. We waited another 30 minutes for our food to arrive. The food was perfect but when we were finished, we waited for the server to cash us out. Finally a manager apparently noticed that we were just setting and she came and cashed us out. I mentioned to her that our service was not what we were accustomed to. She said she would mention it to the server. We're going to give this restaurant a rest for a while because the last couple of visits, we've had complaints.
My wife's prime rib was very tough; not what we expected at a good restaurant. She ate about half of it and I gave the rest to our dog when we got home. I had asked not to have mushrooms on my filet tips and the waitress said ok - it was full of mushrooms which I picked off but disappointed it didn't come as requested. Will not return - 80 mile trip for a disappointing meal.
The sea bass was a little overcooked. The temperature was a bit chilly in the room. Waiter did a nice job.
Everything was perfect
Everytime we dine at Charleston's, it is a treat. The wait staff is friendly and efficient and the food always is delicious and abundant. I do not hesitate to recommend Charleston's to friends and would definitely bring out-of-town guests here.
What a nice fine! Have driven past many time an hadn't noticed it! This is definitely a restaurant to which we'll return and also tell our friends about. Very nice, rustic (sort of) interior with real working gas lights. Service was outstanding/menu had a very diverse selection, even a bison burger. Will definitely dine there again! Glad I found it on Open Table!
Charleston’s always come through, the restaurant is busy, people everywhere, and the drinks stay full, and the server is always ready to fulfill a request. The food, regardless of item, is hot and tasty.
Always great food, wonderful ambiance, and very attentive service.
We really enjoyed out time at Charleston's. The restaurant was very clean and not too noisy. The food was very good. I had the catfish platter with two very large pieces of catfish. It came with cold slaw and fries but I exchanged the fries for fried okra. The okra was really good. My companion had the baked Tilapia which she enjoyed very much. Finished off with a slice of Key Lime Pie. Very good meal.
Server was extreamly poor. Messed up our order in 5 different ways even after discussion. She repeated her mistakes. Was very pointed when questioned.
Restaurant was excellent and would return.
We had a reservation but had to wait for 30 minutes - finally took seats at the bar.
Great value, very enjoyable experience. Hope to go again soon.
The food was great, generous portions. The service was very good.Always enjoy dinner st Charleston’s.
We continue to recommend Charleston’s for food quality, service and value. The place was packed tonight yet service was top notch.
Food and service was great. I recommend the Prime Rib. We were seated quickly and the waitress did a fantastic job.
Been eating here since existence. Consistently good food. Love the tortilla soup. This is the best out of all the other tortilla soups offered at different restaurants. My prime rib was yummy.
Great food and lovely personnel waitress.
She was very informative about menu and specials.
We had reservations for 2:00 PM on Easter Sunday. The place was packed; however, when we arrived we were immediately seated. The service was great, the food was outstanding. The croissants - exceptional. The couple we went with had just moved to Indianapolis and were VERY IMPRESSED. Great Job!
Food and service are always good. They have the best Reuben in town.
Charleston's is a family favorite - great variety of food that is always excellent; reasonably priced; and provided with great service!
Great ambiance, great server (Emily) and service, and great food at a reasonable price. Will definitely go there again!
The food is the best in the city. I appreciate the chef walking around to meet the guest. The southern cuisine is amazing! Thank you
Great place to eat! Food is wonderful and service is good and laid back setting.
food was good. Service was great. I will be going back again
Server Jeremy was so attentive, polite, and responsive! I really don’t care for bread pudding, but theirs is out of this world. Had friends there to honor their son’s passing 18 years ago, and it couldn’t have been better. Thank you!
Wait staff disorganized. Pricey menu for portion size.
Addie was our server and she was the sweetest. Overall, everything came out great and on time. We will be back!
Tina was our server and she was fantastic! She was very accommodating and knowledgeable regarding the menu items. We were there to celebrate my mother's birthday and everything we ordered was delicious. My Dad loved the meatloaf! The general manager brought out a bread pudding dessert for my Mom's birthday and it was exceptional! I would highly recommend this place! The ambience is cozy and even if you sit at a table you don't feel like you're on display. We had a phenomenal experience and will go again!
My $30 new your strip was so flavorless I had to dip it in ketchup, and I never use steak sauce. Worst steak I’ve ever had. My wife enjoyed her meal.
We ordered standard menu items; both prepared well; served in a timely manner at the correct temperature. A great place for an evening out or a special occasion.
A little pricey, but well worth it. The service was outstanding. Very attentive, but not obtrusive. Beautiful setting. Very busy place, but so well organized, it didn't feel crowded. With everything going on, it wasn't really noisy. My wife and I could easily maintain a conversation without having to strain to hear one another.
