Live Jazz: Sunday - Thursday 7:00pm -11:00pm, Friday & Saturday 8:00pm - 12:00am
Incredible ambiance and seating. Our servers were great and efficient. The food was unbelievable. Everything we got was delicious but we would strongly recommend the crab cakes and the tenderloin. Definitely a treat!! The whole experience was worth it and we would definitely return.
Best crab cakes I have ever eaten. Overall food was superb. Waitstaff lovely and attentive. And they graciously gave us their crab cake recipe. Went for a romantic dinner and it was amazing
John and Andrew were our servers and were absolutely outstanding and professional. The items we selected were beautifully presented and tasted even better. Will plan to return and would definitely recommend this Charleston restaurant to friends.
Best restaurant in Charleston. And as always, Shawn provided excellent service.
Phenomenal meal! All of the dishes our party ordered were stupendous. The service was top notch with very knowledgeable servers and sommelier making excellent recommendations for the food and the wine after asking questions and listening to our preferences.
Unfortunately the guy in the next table had had one too many and was very lound and obnoxious. The live jazz music was very enjoyable.
Excellent restaurant for fine dining. Attentive service, good atmosphere, & enjoyable music, not to mention fantastic food.
The food was delicious and the service outstanding. We will definitely eat here again the next time we visit Charleston.
We were honeymooning down in Charleston and chose to celebrate here. The meal was outstanding and the service was first class. I would highly recommend this restaurant for a special occasion. Props to Adam & Steve
Very nice anniversary dinner...staff was excellent...food was perfectly prepared and presented.
Always a delight and the food, the service and the atmosphere were supreme
Really expensive but really good! All of our appetizers, meals, and desserts were fabulous and the service was outstanding.
The food is hands down some of the best food we have ever had. Not to be missed, order the foie gras paired with Paul Hobbs Ross Station Chardonnay one is literally made for the other. Chef Weaver is a talent and force who can put her food up against anyone! You cannot pass up an opportunity to eat here!
I went to this restaurant because I heard they were trying to get a michelin star. It was an outstanding meal and I believe they are probly very close to getting a michelin star. I did the 4 course tasting menu which was creative delicious and a very good value. The wait staff Brian and Trevor were very personable and tailored the tasting menu to our preferences and the wine that we had ordered. It was an excellent experience I will definitely be returning.
I love this restaurant. The staff is very well trained. I've never had a bad experience. Still my favorite in Charleston after 15 years.
Given the ratings and the price I was expecting a higher standard. There were elements of the meal that we're good but other aspects that were inadequate. The pork belly appetizer was chopped into small pieces with a consistency of dried smoked meat. The accompanying watermelon added an element of sweetness that did not carry or bring the the flavors together. This was consistent in other dishes including the foie gras which by itself was great but the accompanying blueberries did nothing to meld the flavors of savory and sweet. The sturgeon entry did not appear to be said fish as it tasted of non description white fleshy fish. Moreover it was drenched in butter. The mushroom cavatelli was a good dish though perhaps over salted shadowing the flavors of the truffle and chantrelles.
This is one of five reviews of Charleston restaurants my wife and I dined at during late August/early September. The grading is based upon each individual restaurants character. i.e. Casual, Upscale, Tourist,...
We decided to splurge and make the Charleston Grill my wife's second birthday celebration of our trip. It is an upscale restaurant with the atmosphere of a private club. The dining room is large with tasteful wood paneling. The seating is well spaced and provides a modicum of privacy to your party. Live Jazz music provides a perfect accompaniment to dinner. My wife and I arrived and were warmly greeted by the hostess and seated in a corner table. The servers operate in pairs and are friendly, knowledgeable, and very, very attentive. We again began our dinner with a 1/2 bottle of the Taittinger champagne. For an appetizer we both ordered the crab crabs. They were excellent. For the main course my wife had the sturgeon and I had the lamb. The sturgeon was cooked to perfection and my wife loved it. The lamb was a generous portion and very tasty. Our choice of wine was Tor Cuvee Susan (My wife's name) and of course it was a perfect accompaniment to both meals. For desert we had the creme brulee and it too was perfect. Throughout the service could not have been better and we greatly enjoyed the atmosphere with the Jazz in the background. Highly recommend.
You want steak, go to Halls, you want great service, go to Halls. For the money, HORRIBLE!!!!!!
Wonderful as always!
Delightful staff... fabulous food !
I set a reservation for post-proposal to my fiancé, and the staff made our night so memorable. They were professional, but also down to earth and fun. They made excellent recommendations as well. We did the 6 course tasting menu, everything was great, but the lamb and foie gras were two of the best things I've ever had. The waffle and rhubarb ice cream sandwich was so light and delicious. The atmosphere of the restaurant is fantastic, with light music playing in the background. I've been to over 100 restaurants in Charleston, and this one was my favorite. For your next big event do yourself a favor and schedule a reservation here.
The food was average but overpriced. Service was excellent. Location was a bit of a surprise. We were expecting a nice dining experience in an old Charleston building complete with character and charm. Instead the Location is a bit like a retail mall.
Excellent service and the live music during was very good.
Excellent every time. Impeccable service.
Whenever I visit Charleston I always make sure I have two nights set aside for dinner at the Charleston Grill.
From the moment you are greeted at the door until you leave the staff makes you feel very special. The servers typically work in pairs and they are exceptional. The signature dish is the lamb chops, but if that's not for you there are several selections that will surely be to your liking. Great wine list, great foot and great staff. I'll be back!
Wonderful Anniversary dinner! We did the 6 course tasting menu & it was delicious!
Great service and wonderful food. This restaurants never disappoints. The appetizers were delicious and the main courses were amazing.
Outstanding food, service, and ambiance. This was my first time for Charleston Grill and everything was far above and beyond what I expected.
Fantastic!!!! Food was delicious and everything was awesome !!!!
Everything was outstanding! We felt the menu selections and variety was a bit limited but our choices were great.
We had a fantastic dinner for our anniversary. The staff was very professional and very attentive, each server made us feel special. We can't praise enough the friendliness of Andrew and John.
Always one of the best in Charleston and beyond! We enjoyed the romantic table, loved the relaxing jazz, loved the crab cake appetizer that the Grill is known for, had great ribeye and scallop entrees with local flair. They picked up one drink since we were celebrating a special occasion. Chef treated us to seasonal seafood sample to begin and a plate of sweets at the end of the evening. We love the bar and staff as well! Perfect evening!
Visited Charleston after 15 years and was very excited to go back to Charleston Grill and was disappointed, definitely not worth the anticipation
Very nice and accommodated my gluten-free Celiac diet very nicely. Incredible food and service!
A wonderful evening out. We were pleasantly surprised by the live music that played throughout the night. Fantastic wine and food.
The epitome of Charleston fine dining. The level of service and hospitality from our server nika and graham the manager was second to none. Thank you for a memorable birthday experience.
The food was excellent and the service was outstanding. A little pricey but well worth it. I would highly recommend.
Southern posh ambiance is complemented by great seevice and awesome food. We chose the chef’s tasting menu and were very impressed with the quality of the food and variety offered with the tasting menu.
Bryan was a fantastic server. Took care of all of our dining needs with help from a great support staff. The food was excellent and every course was thoughtfully prepared. There was also a very enjoyable jazz band that added great music to the whole experience. Will most definitely go back every time I am in Charleston
Went here with my wife for our 30th wedding anniversary. Extremely happy with the meal and the excellent service. Looking forward to eating there again the next time we are in the area.
We were visiting Charleston for the first time! We ate at the Charleston grill for our last night and believe me when we say... we saved the best for last!! I can’t say how amazed we were! The service, the food, everything was perfect! We were very grateful and can’t wait to go back! Very special thank you to brooke and Trevor!
