Wonderful evening, great service and incredible food! Loved it
Was disappointed in the Filet mignon. $29.00 for a piece that was maybe 3 ounces.
A bit outside the usual neighborhoods, but easy to find. Crab cakes were really good, and other menu items were quite tasty. Nice Valentines Day dinner!
Wow! What a wonderful time we had this weekend at Charisse! This was our first visit here, and we are ready to return. Kansas City has some great French restaurants, and I'd rank Charisse right near the top. The food was superb (especially the escargot. and the mussels. and the beet salad. I could go on). Service was top notch and we had a great time.
Food was amazing and the service was incredible. If you want a fresh take on some classic French cuisine then you have to try this place.
First time there. Started out waiting a bit to give our order but after we did the service was fast. This was clearly one of the best meals I've had. The beet salad was so flavorful but the filet Mignon was the Best!!! It was seasoned perfectly and so tender I didn't need a steak knife. Profiteroles topped off a perfect meal.
Wonderful food and atmosphere. Server was top notch.
One of the best restaurants in KC. A gem that should be better known.
The food is always excellent and the staff is very knowledgeable plus you can hear the person you came with without having to yell at each other
Nice place, quiet - good for conversation. Waiter had a bit of an attitude that put a damper on the meal.
Great food, great atmosphere. Would for sure go back.
Wonderful little jewel in downtown KC... parked at 11th and Main garage .. entrance easy to find... food spectacular and service superb.... I had a quinoa spinach salad and added shrimp.. also had a chicken pot pie at the table.. can’t wait to go again!
Everything was amazing! The food, the service, the ambiance! We can’t wait to go back and try more of the menu! We had lamb, beef, salad and salmon and desserts.
I have been going to Charisse for evening meals when we go to a concert since it was Aixois Bistro and the current owner was the chef. Alas, no more. On my Open Table listing it says "Gluten free, lactose free." Good restaurants like Story pay attention and can always accommodate me. In the past, I enjoyed the trout on the Charisse menu, but unfortunately that is no longer available. One main course, the Faroe salmon, was listed as GF but it included sweet potato gnocci. I asked the server if that was GF. She said it was not. So why is that entrée listed as GF? When I asked what she could substitute, she said "a vegetable." What vegetable, I asked. "Chef's choice." Why chef's choice? Why not mine? I looked at other entrees and saw "pommes puree," or mashed potatoes. I asked for that. Instead, she brought me pommes frites, French fries, which is a side with a price. She agreed to bring me mashed potatoes but insisted on leaving the French fries on the table until I asked that they be removed. Her excuse was that "they don't usually allow mashed potatoes as a substitute." Either the server or the restaurant has its priorities screwed up.
Everything was amazing! Loved the pot pie! Service was also outstanding!
Always a good option for lunch downtown. Entrees are fresh and served hot. Servers are friendly and turnaround from ordering to receive your meal is reasonably prompt, making it a good choice for a quality lunch. Their cheese burger and frites is always a great choice. They have a great bar and several great local options on tap. Enjoy!
Was an awesome experience. They do service industry discounts on Mondays for 50% off that made it really affordable.
Brought a friend who had never been to the restaurant and she was very impressed. Jason and crew did a great job and she’ll be coming back. Thanks!
Chicken and Kale soup is great on a cold day! Attentive wait staff and reasonable wait time for food. Everything was very tasty, will be going back.
We were the only guests there for an early dinner, when another couple arrived they were seated right next to us. It was very odd. They actually asked to move but were told no. The first few courses were good, but the main course was not great. My steak was cold. Not just lukewarm, but cold enough that the butter did not melt on top.
With all the other great places in KC we will not be going back to Charisse. But try it for yourself- maybe it was an off day. The food was not bad, there are just much better places around.
