   In our opinion, this is the best French Restaurant in Kansas City. The Duck Wontons and Caesar Salad are always highlights. The atmosphere is relaxing and pleasant. It has never been too busy when we have gone for a later dinner. Steaks, lamb and Salmon are good choices. We enjoy the 4 course dinner. I get a dessert and my husband gets 2 “firsts”. That way we can order 2 duck wontons and the mussels which are also excellent. The Caesar salad features a fried egg on top and it has been our salad choice. For dessert the flourless chocolate was delicious. Try Charisse, you will not be disappointed!

   We came here for our anniversary. There was only one server who also bartended but he was extremely efficient and it made it feel very cozy and intimate. Food was good. Wine pairings were great:

   This is a fantastic spot for a quiet or business lunch. Only downside is the lack of parking - be sure to have a plan or be able to walk. Food is fantastic and service is usually great. They appeared a little understaffed on the day we were there - but food was still stellar.

   I have never had a bad meal or service. Everything is always phenomenal. A glass of wine was ordered. I watched the bartender pour a taste from the already open bottle. He dumped the bottle and opened a new one. I’ve never seen that at a restaurant before.

   Be sure to get there before 6 if you want to participate in happy hour. Not 6:01, but 6. As whiskey drinkers, we try to be aware of pricing on stuff when buying by the 1/2 ounce. So, a 1.5 ounce drink increased to a 2.0 ounce pour should be 1.33 times the price of the 1.5 ounce drink. Expect to pay more. Some bars charge a standard $2 "rocks" charge, for example. Not this place. Haven't quite figured out their formula, if they have one. As a customer, if the waiter says I can substitute one vegetable for another, it would help if they also mentioned there would be a $5 upcharge. Total discrepancies were a little over $10. Not a huge deal, but it unnecessarily leaves a bad taste after an otherwise great dinner. Beet salad was absolutely one of the best salads I have ever had. Waitress was pleasant and helpful (other than previously mentioned). Steak, lox, salmon were all excellent. Surprised it wasn't busier. Diners are missing out on a very (mostly) enjoyable experience.

   Food was amazing. Quiet enough to have table conversation. Staff super nice and helpful. Recommend to others and they are there the next night. 14 of them!

   Took my brother and his wife from out-of-town to our favorite KC restaurant and it did not disappoint.
