The Charcoal Steak House is an independent local steakhouse serving the Waterloo region community for over 65 years. Enjoy AAA Steaks, richly marbled wagyu, slow roasted prime rib, fresh seafood, mouth-watering pig tails, legendary smoked ribs and more. At lunch we feature an extensive menu with burgers, sandwiches, bowls and healthy salad choices.

Sundays are made for Brunch from 9:00am - 1:00pm.

Our Martinis Bar with summer patio offers the full Steak House menu or light meals in a more casual setting. Enjoy appetizers, a full meal, 20 beers on tap and beautiful outdoor seating area in summer.

We have been to Charcoal a couple of times when visiting Waterloo. Every aspect of our meal was excellent, from appetizers to dessert. All of the dishes and drinks are presented thoughtfully and beautifully. The flavours in all our dishes were amazing. The ambience and service were also superior to anything we have experienced. We highly recommend Charcoal and can’t wait to return.

Our sever was really great. The food, as usual, was excellent. I had the tomahawk steak and it was extraordinarily good, cooked perfectly. I also really like the Caesar salad, the dressing in particular.

Ordered ribs and tails. Ribs dry with little taste, tails had little taste, mashed potatoes were dry and starchy. Very disappointed. Service and atmosphere were excellent.
