Food and sides were great. Nice cocktails. Lovely space. Parking in the area is tricky but I would whole-heartedly recommend this restaurant. Mmmm... cornbread! (They don't bring honey or butter with it but you should ask for it). Popular with families in the early dinner hours so come after 7p to avoid little kids...

Overall experience was good. Food was awesome but service was pretty slow. They only had one person on and her section was huge. There wasn't a busser or a bartender to help her out either. I'd go again but sit at the bar or take-out. Corn bread was excellent.

Authenic BBQ brisket is tender and oh so flavorful, smokey, with the proper bark burnt ends - killer! The cole slaw a foodie delight and a refreshing surprise kinda Thai spices and delicious and must!

Had an early dinner there last Saturday night. Overall, a very positive experience. First off, everyone who we interacted with was fantastic. Lovely people who were great at their jobs. The food was very good but not perfect. Definitely would go back and try more things so I don't want to make it sound like it was bad when it wasn't at all. Loved the fried okra and I thought my brisket was good but my friend found it a little dry...as he did his ribs. Maybe that's just him. I also ordered the brussel sprouts and they did disappoint a little bit. They didn't have much flavor. Usually they're cooked with bacon or apple cider vinegar or a balsamic something...and these lacked that. So, I think they need to be punched up a bit. Those are all minor things. The atmosphere is fun and our cocktails and beers (for those who like a good selection) were all good.

Okay, so your restaurant is relatively new. Stop using this as your excuse for poor service. We hope you survive the fickleness of LA foodies because the BBQ is amazing. However until you fix the quality of service guests won't be coming back.

We showed up at a good time, the place was almost empty. Our server was nice and attentive, but I had hoped that the pulled pork burgers would've been more flavorful. I'd gone without BBQ (red meat, really) for the better part of a month so I was excited to flood the drought. The food wasn't bad, I was just hoping to be blown away.

My wife and I enjoyed our dinner we had at Charcoal on a Saturday night - but the service left a lot to be desired. We arrived 15 minutes early for our reservations, so I wasn't surprised when they asked us to wait at the bar - and waited a little more than 30 minutes to be seated. She ordered chicken, I ordered brisket and we shared fries and beans. The chicken came out first - and it tasted amazing. We finished it before the brisket came... which was ~10 minutes after the chicken, it wasn't as good as the chicken, but it was good. The beans came maybe 5 mins after the chicken, and the fries showed up 10 minutes after that. During the disjointed meal, we watched the each member of the wait staff (including the bartender) walk into the kitchen and stay there for several minutes . Maybe we will try it again in a few months, then again... maybe not.

Will have to bring the kids here. Plenty more things to try on the menu. The open faced pulled pork with fried egg on top was amazing.

This place is just two weeks old, but they've got a good formula with amazing meats in hearty portions. Can't have enough good BBQ.

After a slight mess up with the reservation, we were seated. The food was great, the service, was as great.
