Chanson / Royal Blues Hotel
5-course Tasting menu is often available , with optional wine pairings by our Sommelier.
The food was amazing and creative. The service was fabulous. A wonderful dinner
Thanksgiving celebration with my beautiful wife!
Its nice to find a unique and original restaurant.
Great find off A1A. Delicious food , very attentive service . Made the date a lot of fun !
Our go to place for dinner and mostly for special occasions. Lovely spot all around.
We went on a Friday evening to celebrate our anniversary. I was so happy to arrive earlier than our reservation to enjoy a fabulous happy hour of ladies night Cliquoet Champagne & select specialty priced wines. Together with a few tapas we sat directly across from the ocean & enjoyed the view.
Service was warm & friendly as well as attentive.
Dinner inside was lovely. We were seated in view of the beautiful aquarium & near a window. Food was wonderful. Service was attentive.
Being a local, I will definitely return.
Had a lovely birthday brunch with excellent service.
The shrimp appetizer was raw and smelly and I had to send it back and did not feel like ordering fish because of that and 90% of the menu is fish. I ordered a Vegan entree which was mediocre at best. My boyfriend ordered the Kobe Steak which was $75.00 for 3 ounces which is basically 2 bites. Never going back there again.
My 9 year old sons sea bass was delivered covered in dead and live spiders. Waiter argued with me that the spiders somehow jumped on the plate in the 6 feet between the dining room and outdoor patio. They offered free dessert when I demanded our check so we could leave immediately. I cant believe they didn't comp the dinner hoping I wouldn't tell the truth about this disaster. I cant make this up.
Very nice venue and with friendly and professional service. The food was presented nicely and was very tasty. I found the portion for the price on both the salad and fish entrees to be small for the cost. Based on portion size, my opinion is that this restaurant should be $$$ and not $$. All in all, a lovely experience. A view of the ocean and an awesome salt water fishing tank added nicely to the ambiance.
We are blessed t have a Relais in South Florida. Started eating here when I learned of it several years ago. Always very good. But this time PERFECTION.
Best Chilean sea bass, ever. So delicious. Kind, knowledgeable wait staff and sommelier
We were a group of 8 celebrating Mother’s Day at 2pm. The ambiance was very appealing but that’s about it. We waited almost half an hour for appetizers. And I had to ask for drinks for some of our family. The young children in our group were especially hungry so we asked for bread or crackers. We were told they only offer bread at dinner. Wtf. When the appetizers arrived we were a bit turned off by the shrimp cocktails as the shrimp were not deveined. Replacements were given. Nothing special in terms of flavor/quality. Very small portion too. 2 shrimp with a schmear of cocktail sauce on the plate. Trying too hard to be fancy. An additional waitress came in during our appetizers and offered us bread but then said it was an extra charge! Umm what?! We told her we’d been asking for bread for the past half hour. Why did they suddenly have bread? She explained it’s because she wasn’t there yet. Not sure what that means. She did then say they would give us bread no charge. Hallelujah. We suggested that for a Mother’s Day lunch especially they should expect families with young children and for $60 per person (and $25 per child) should offer bread. The second course arrived and wasn’t so hot to some. Literally. My husband’s steak was cold while his side of polenta toast was warm. My father in law’s lobster hash was half warm half cold. My daughter’s linguine with butter was too al dente. It was clumpy and tough in places. But she was hungry so ate a few bites. The portions were very small so we all finished ours by the time we could ask for a new pasta for her. It took almost half an hour to receive a replacement! It was served during dessert. And without silverware. Dessert was the best part. My key lime tart was delicious. The others had the mini s’mores which I tasted. They were fine. Nothing great. Seemed like all the servers were new to working at a restaurant. Would not recommend!
What a lovely place to go for really any occasion.. directly across from the beach you can’t beat the view.. and the atmosphere is elegantly casual.. you can even have a conversation.. the din is only of the sea..
In the past we have always selected the tasting menu but this time we ordered individually and I had the lamb .. it’s super yummy.. on the hearty side and memorable.
Lastly let me also compliment the entire staff.. so welcoming and professional.. loved our entire visit.
It was a rainy Tuesday and my date and I had the entire restaurant to ourselves. From the moment we walked in the atmosphere comfortable yet fancy. The service was friendly, the food was amazing and had vegan options which fit our requirements. I will be back again in the near future.
Great evening. Beautiful spot, great service( thank you Joe and Jen), great bar and bartender(Joe). Food was super. Great time.
Consistently excellent food and service. Best beach front restaurant for miles. For us lunch in the patio is a must do several times each month.
Weekend Brunch is the best for family fun.
Had a great Saturday morning breakfast for 6 and was delighted I could reserve a location with an ocean view.
Delicious food, excellent choice of wines and extremely attentive service!
We were very disappointed to find that the tasting menu was unavailable after being told earlier in the day that it would be. The loss of the restaurant’s chef will be a major hurdle for this restaurant to overcome. His departure will not help this establishment. Someone needs to step up and hire a comparable replacement before the failure of this new restaurant.
We waited 1.5 hours for the ‘amuse Bouche’, and got a little bread at same time. Waited over 2 hours and never got dinner so we gave up. When we very nicely said we were a bit shocked by the service and lack of food, the host and waitress were very sympathetic and then disappeared. No host, no waitress, no bartender in the bar. No service folks at all. We had to leave payment for our drinks on the table.
No one should try to dine here, this is a hotel trying to have a restaurant and it’s not working.
Le ragoût d’agneau....TERRIBLE... bouts de viandes corriaces et ce serait plutôt un ragoût de patates.
Entrée de fois gras très bon
Poisson bon sans plus avec riz vert pas terrible.
Très très déçue malheureusement
We loved that the chef was so interactive in describing the various dishes of the tasting menu the night we dined at the restaurant. His passion for food was infectious and it greatly enhanced the quality of our experience. We plan to return for another memorable evening!
chanson and the Royal Blue Hotel is my absolutely favorite beachfront experience!
We love going there for breakfast, brunch, lunch, happy hour and dinner. It is elegant with great service and lovely food. Always very accomodating and charming.
Must try the smores for desert, even for breakfast!!!
New Year’s Eve was fabulous!
Unless you know about parking it is a problem; cost me a thirty dollar ticket.
Chansons Chef Matthew has created a fantastic menu, the food is delicious, and of course the famous Smores desert is still on the menu. Henry, the Sommelier took care of picking the best wine for the meal. Diego does a great job as GM. Chanson is 5 star for sure.
We just wanted to say what an excellent evening we had on our anniversary. The service was great! The food was absolutely wonderful, from preparation to presentation. Our special Thank you to Chef Mattew. Everything you cooked was delicious. Thank you for the signature dessert! The restaurant itself is also pretty cool. A large aquarium and blue light of the restaurant gives a romantic atmosphere.
We decided to dine here because we have been to 3 other Relais & Chateaux properties which we loved. Our waitress was well informed and attentive. However, the food was horrific. My husband had pheasant which tasted like dried out chicken. My entree was braised lamb. It was inedible. We are both decent cooks and we do dine out fairly often at upscale restaurants....this was an enormously expensive mistake. Someone at Relais needs to reconfirm the chef's skills.
Drinks on the ocean front terrace- Priceless!!! (especially at Happy Hour prices)
JZ
The service at this restaurant was practically nonexistent. No one came to our table when we were seated to ask about beverages. We flagged someone down who I guess was our server but he seemed not to know anything about the menu, how to take an order, answer a question or serve the meal. I am very surprised at this level of service considering that the restaurant is on the Relais and Chateau list. Normally, such restaurants can be counted on for excellence in food and service as well as atmosphere. The food, however, was nicely presented and tasted good. But I will not return.
Had a wonderful birthday dinner with my husband
Food was excellent
Beautiful atmosphere and wonderful food! Service was spot-on and very unobtrusive. They made a special “happy birthday” on our dessert plate, capping off a lovely evening!
From Tracy's welcome to our drink in the bar, our evening was a standout as usual.
We had the tasting menu and wine pairing. Henry served us some unusual and delicious wines.
The new chef is wonderful. She served us up 5 courses of creative and delicious food. We had tremendous fun and enjoyed every minute of the dining experience which is uniquely Chanson.
This is our go-to special restaurant. We believe it's the best restaurant experience north of Miami.
The Chanson definitely scores when it comes to ambience. It is so romantic and very beautiful inside. We dined at the Chanson for a late night dinner recently; the sound of waves, the feel of a balmy summer night, the glow of candlelight, and the lovely ceiling aquarium all contribute to the elegant and romantic ocean vibe. It is gorgeous, and we need more venues with the romantic
flair of the Chanson here in South Florida. The cuisine is very artistic and “nouveau”. Clearly the chef is accomplished and skilled in creating dishes for a sophisticated palate. The selections are very limited but quite creative. There is a vegetarian dish for those seeking vegetarian fare, and there is a steak for those preferring red meat. Unfortunately our palate is not super sophisticated, and choosing a dish was a bit challenging, in spite of the limited menu. This is in no way a reflection of the chef(s) at the Chanson, but of our particular tastes. I would love to return to the Chanson for brunch. This beautiful venue is the perfect spot for educated taste buds!
As a gourmet vegetarian, I like to be surprised with something a little different from my own cooking. Most restaurants offering a vegetarian option tend to serve the same boring dishes. I therefore was delighted to dig into a plate of delicious vegetables cooked to perfection with a highlight of onion puree . It may sound simplistic, but sometimes less is more. I should also mention that my hubby loved the octopus and Henry, Chanson's new sommelier, was most knowledgeable and delightful. Happy vegetarian food and wine lover.
Excellent food and presentation, great wine list and cocktails. Interior design and the view is beautiful! Recommend for a special occasion.
We ordered the tasting menu (2 people) and the chef gave us the delight of serving different dishes to each of us, so we got to try more of the options. Inventive food with lovely presentation. Service was quiet, unobtrusive and attentive. We were made to feel welcomed. The in-wall fish tank is spectacular, as are the views of the beach.
this is our 4th or 5th time dining at Chanson and it is always wonderful - great service and the food is outstanding and imaginative
Food is extremely over priced for the quantity. I had the steak and eggs for a brunch. I had the wooden taste of the brisket in my mouth for hours. The chocolate cake dessert was just ok. I’ve tasted a lot better. I would not return to eat there.
Excellent!! Mother’s Day Brunch was fantastic! A hidden gem!
