OUR DINNER AT CHANDLER'S WAS EXCELLENT FROM THE FOOD, TO THE SERVICE, TO THE AMBIANCE!
Lovely meal was ruined by email going on and on about evils of missing a reservation. A simply checking would have sufficed and then nasty email if we had missed would have been due.
Environment is elegant. Staff is very courteous. Bar is nice for people who don't want to eat. Nice place
Disappointed tonight. Waiter forgot to enter our child's dinner. Everyone was served except him. He had to wait. We were all half way done by the time he got his food.
The sunset view was spectacular! We couldn’t get enough of the short rib flat bread, lobster shrimp nachos, and burger and truffle tots. Our drink was simple but great. A house margarita and sunset. No food was as appealing anywhere else the next day. Will be back for sure.
Greeted and seated quickly .... Amazing Food and Service !!!!
Great view and great staff
Pretty view but not enough to make up for the lackluster cuisine. Food was okay, but breakfast/brunch items “sold out” by 11 on. Sunday(seriously ?!?!) and server did not offer any alternatives.Brunch menu was also very limited in options. Food itself was nothing special.
View was pretty but blocked by a wall and traffic too noisy to sit outside. Having trouble understanding the 4+ stars on opentable.
The view was beautiful so we wanted to sit outside. Could have done with an additional heater but they didn’t bring one when we asked. Joann didn’t seem very happy about being at work—would’ve been nice for a more pleasant demeanor. The food was good, though my Greek yogurt bowl wasn’t sweet enough. Had to ask twice to get some honey. The menu was small; I had few options of getting a clean meal to eat.
Came here two nights in a row food was very good. Service e was good. I enjoyed the live music each night.
The burrata was sour. The other food items were good .
Forgetting spoons for soup and stake knives for stakes was frustrating. For the $$ spent on a 6 top dinner service has to be better.
Disappointing. Dining room seemed overwhelmed and, considering it was valentines day and it was a fixed price menu, it was just ok.
disappointing valentines day menu. 60 for a plate of pasta with unchewable artichoke hearts and a couple of cherry tomatoes. sea bass looked much better.
It would have been nice if we would have had some type of Valentine's decor; regardless of arriving before the Valentines Day rush, it was still V-day.
Misleading happy hour information. Expensive for what is essentially and aging decor.
Gorgeous view of the sunset when sitting outside. Service was excellent and food was very good. I would definitely come back if I was in the area again.
I am thrilled they always remember my seating preferences for a business lunch . . . booth, quiet area, etc.
We chose Chandler's for our anniversary dinner after an excellent experience a month prior when dining with friends. Chiopino was very good. The prime filet perfectly cooked. Jose was our server again and we appreciate his friendliness, excellent service and attention. The complimentary chocolate cake was beautifully plated and decadent. Thank you for a perfect celebratory dinner. We will return soon.
We decided to sit inside because it was a chilly late afternoon, but all of us being short couldn't see anything out the windows because they are placed so high above the tables. We moved outside where it was a bit chilly and were told the heaters on the patio weren't working. The menu is limited, but the food was decent. The view from the patio is gorgeous - sun setting over the ocean. We all thought the entree dishes available need to be expanded.
We are regulars at Chandler’s. We always ask to be seated in Jose’s section. All of their servers are awesome, but Jose THE BEST server they have. Margot, their hostess, is always very accommodating.
The Hilton at Cape Rey Carlsbad is our go to place to stay when we go to Legoland. Chandler’s is our go to restaurant at Carlsbad. It is convenient, beautiful, amazing food and excellent service.
We loved the fish choices and even tried a new one. Service was great.
Xmas dinner was amazing food
Was excited to eat at Chandlers as we heard that it had a great view and food was good, but was sadly disappointed. Came here for with our family of 6 for Christmas Dinner which turned out to be a $75 per person buffet which was fine with us, but expected so much more. Reservations at 6:30pm and found out that they close the buffet at 7pm. When I asked about the 7pm closing time, I was assured that the buffet would remain open and available for customers seated before 7pm. Our server was very nice and attentive, but the reason for the low rating is the value paid does not equal to the quality of food and kitchen service. Not a big buffet, but there was a variety of food selection: shrimp, tuna poke, crab claws, meat and cheese, salad, soup, salmon, potatoes, mac and cheese (dried out and kinda cold since it had been sitting in the warmer trays for a long time), veggies, carving station with beef and turkey and a very small dessert section about 4-5 types. At $75 per person, we expected the food to be replenished when running low but this didn't really happen. We scraped the bottom of the soup pot to get a scoop of clam chowder, didn't have the opportunity to try the tuna poke because they didn't replenish the dish before 7pm, but the most disappointing thing was the lack of dishes for us to eat with. Each time, we had to ask and wait for them to bring out a few clean dishes. Unfortunately, we will not return to eat here again since the experience was so disappointing.
The food was incredibly delicious! We came to celebrate a nice Christmas dinner with our family. We didn’t expect to be having a buffet style dinner; but we were pleasantly surprised with all the choices of gourmet foods.
If you’re celebrating a special holiday, be sure to check out their website for the menu pricing because the everyday menu is substantially different and not offered on a night like this. We were very surprised when we got our check. We gave this restaurant 5 starts for its scrumptious food!
It was a Christmas Buffet... Wonderful!
Thank You So Much
Christmas dinner. It was good food. Not excellent, like we had hoped for. I was so grateful that there were several Gluten Free options for side dishes. The salmon was really good. The prime rib was cold and a little tough, but tasty. My family said the turkey was really good.
Only one gluten-free option for desert. There were plenty of employees, but still there were empty dishes. We would probably give it another try. Liked. Not loved... we were really hoping for delicious. But that’s not what we got. It was fun anyway, nice atmosphere and friendly staff.
Jose is an excellent server. He is attentive and helpful with choices of cocktails and menu items. The food was excellent. Everyone in our party was happy with their choices. Too bad is was a foggy evening. We arrived early to see the sunset but Mother Nature had other ideas.
Every time we are in the Carlsbad area we come to Chandler's. The outdoor seating looking over the ocean is breathtaking. The outdoor seating area is has cozy seating just cocktails or great tables for dinner. The menu is fresh and delicious and has inspirational foods and drinks. The waitstaff is very attentive, quick, knowledgable and friendly. Definitely a spot you don't want to pass by.
The Thanksgiving course menu and pairing was excellent.
Undone complaint would be that they should consider providing a gravy boat with the meal for those of us who like a little bit more gravy. The ambiance was basically a hotel restaurant.
We attend Thanksgiving dinner at Chandlers two years ago and it was a great experience; outstanding food and service. This year, the food was passable, really just passable. I felt that my dinner was on the level of a nice diner or deli. Really disappointed.
Thanksgiving dinner was a totally wonderful experience. The food was excellent - one of the best Thanksgiving meals we have had. The staff was excellent and the location, right across from the beach was enchanting. Best experience we have had dining in a hotel restaurant.
Great service, food is fabulous and view is breathtaking
Chain Hotel food. Chain Hotel prices.
Chain Hotel guests overrunning the property.
Dropped $120 on dinner for two next to screaming kids and soggy tortilla chips.
I’ve been wanting to go since I started following on instagram! First time visit we a great experience, amazing sunset and good food. Date night redo!
Service (server) was awesome. Food is always the best.
Enjoyed our dinner .Husband had Mahi mahi tacos and I had the Shrimp and lobster tacos. He said the fish was very light and flakey. Great portion size. We had excellent service and enjoyed the sunset.
The food was ok, service was very good. Especially like that your staff remembered to give me a quiet table to conduct business.
