Chandler’s opened it’s doors in December of 1999 behind the historical Symons General Store building. It’s a cozy place with only 50 seats in the main dining room & 10 seats at the bar. When real estate is too tough to find - it’s standing room only! For a change of scenery, guests can enjoy dining in the wine cellar where they are surrounded by the 4,000 bottle collection that serves both the restaurant and Symons General Store. In the warmer months, guests can choose to dine outside, on Chandler’s brick courtyard.

A very disappointing meal. It took a very long time to come out and my meat (bison) was cold. Our waiter was great and kept us apprised. I’m sad it didn’t live up to my last visit.

Lunch was awesome as usual. Penny is a great waitress. We were fortunate to have her wait on us. Beyond that, the food is always superb. Everyone should experience Chandlers.

Very accommodating staff. Our server was very attentive, funny, and skilled. Explained the menu, kept the drinks and bread flowing. The food price is what you’d expect for a higher-end restaurant, not too cheap but not insanely expensive. Worth every penny. I tried tartare for the first time and it was incredible. The sushi was incredible. Then, everybody’s entree was incredible. Very unique fare, great ambience, and well executed in every aspect. Will be returning every time I’m in the area and recommending to my friends/family.

This was our second visit. We were seated across the patio from the main restaurant and that was fantastic! Our server was Travis and he guided us through the menu in a wonderful way. My wife had the chicken and I had the duck. Both were prepared so creatively. We love this place.

Average at best, not as bad as last springs issues, but all 4 entrees not good at all, shrimp/ grits terrible, duck not good, not nearly as in past, chicken pasta worthy of Olive Garden, they wouldn’t have served! 2 appetizers very good, saved meal, salads good too, very nice job/ size splitting them C-

Great place to sit at the bar and chat with others if you want to. We started at the bar and moved to the cellar area for dinner celebrating our wedding anniversary. Food was superb. The entire staff, hostess, bar tenders and the wait staff were friendly and attentive.

Food was mediocre. Spicy tuba roll was just ok ceaser was under dressed. Server made it right. My lamb was overdone and no seasoning. Chicken entre w/ picatta sauc was as this as water chef thickened it up and gave us a free desert which was nice but for $300 dollars plus… will refrain from visiting again I think

Took a friend for Easter dinner, & was very happy about choosing Chandler's. Our Server Kim was so pleasant & professional she was refreshing from some of my latest experiences while traveling. We had the Farm Board for starters which was a 9 out of 10. Actually Kim went above & beyond & went to get us a sample of the truffled Gouda. The only 10 Farm board I have ever had was prepared by me. Our meals were 5 Stars perfectly prepared. Complements to the chef. Duck was the best I have ever had. My friend loved her Salmon as well. Chandler's is worthy of 5 Stars

I had Maui Maui special and my husband had the salmon and the pieces of fish were high quality and a generous portion. The winter salad with cranberry and cheese garnish was delicious. Wine by the glass was reasonable and good quality. The only disappointment was the fruit crumble while big didn’t seem to blend well together and was not as good as in the past, wish they had a dessert with carmel or butterscotch that would be easy to make ahead to the, butterscotch pot de crème. We hadn’t been there since before the pandemic and will be coming back as it was overall a very pleasant meal.

It was cold by the door but we were able to use a space heater to keep us toasty. Travis gave excellent service with great recommendations and patience while we enjoyed our wine and appetizers.

Fabulous dinner. Cocktails were perfect. Sushi appetizer was delicious. I was tempted to lick the curry sauce off my entree plate. Our server was so pleasant and helpful. This was our second time at Chandler’s, and we hope to go every time we are in Petoskey!

Over the years, Chandler's has been known for their outstanding food, service, atmosphere and overall quality. They had established a reputation for being fine dining and we have always highly recommended them to everyone. Our recent experience suggests otherwise. -Atmosphere and location are still excellent! -Service was so so. Our server was pleasant, but not personable or engaging. There were a couple of mistakes regarding our food and beverage order. Our dirty dishes kept piling up at the end of the table with a long wait and little resolve to clear. One of our water glasses had lipstick on it. Attentiveness to our needs and attention to detail was lacking. -The food quality compared to what we have been used to, was poor. Lacking in flavor, presentation, and over all quality. We have had better dining experiences and food quality at low end chain restaurants. -Price point was a little high considering the service and food quality we received as well as the reputation Chandler's is known for. -The online reservation platform was very user friendly and convenient, however, it asked if we were celebrating anything special. We said yes. Not one person at Chandler's inquired or commented on our special occasion. Over all we were disappointed, but still enjoyed our time celebrating our special occasion. Chandler's, we know you can do better and we have not written you off.
