Chandler’s opened it’s doors in December of 1999 behind the historical Symons General Store building. It’s a cozy place with only 50 seats in the main dining room & 10 seats at the bar. When real estate is too tough to find - it’s standing room only! For a change of scenery, guests can enjoy dining in the wine cellar where they are surrounded by the 4,000 bottle collection that serves both the restaurant and Symons General Store. In the warmer months, guests can choose to dine outside, on Chandler’s brick courtyard.

3rd time to stay in Petoskey, 3rd time to eat at Chandler's. Meal was as expected - wonderful! My wife had the duck and I had the veal medallions. Both were terrific. Excellent service! Yes, this place is expensive; however, it's worth it. Already looking forward to going back next year!

This has always been our favorite restaurant when coming to bay Harbor for the past 20+years . I was very disappointed last night . It was my birthday and I was looking forward to a wonderful dinner . The sushi was one of favorites but it’s now more than half the size . The rolls were tasty but way too small . They now charge you if you do them pay cash . They pass the credit card charge on to you . The hummer drink for desert didn’t disappoint. Always very good here .

We had a great meal at Chandlers. Food was very flavorful & well prepared. The staff was very attentive. Only negative was the noise level. Our resv was for 6pm on a Wed night in mid Sept. all was great noise wise until approximately 6:30/6:45 when it started to really fill up & then the noise level was very loud.

Upon arriving I was initially brought to a table right next to the front door (which had a lot of traffic from servers and guests). When I asked if it was at all possible to have a table away from the drafty front door, I was totally accommodated and shown to a inner table! Much appreciated!

Chandlers has always been one of the best restaurants in Petoskey. The ambiance of the wine room and the wine cannot be beat. However, this time our veal dish was bland and lacked creativity. Surprising for a restaurant that usually exceeds our expectations.

James Brown did an excellent job taking care of us, I always love a server who has options all laid out at each potential ordering point and slick about it. Egg Benedict and Club were serious portions so value was high!

We’ve dined at Chandlers many times and last night’s experience was not up to par. The food was delicious as usual, but our waiter was terrible. He never brought the bread; he placed our flatware incorrectly; he forgot to bring the ice I requested; and he brought the bill w our dessert and asked that we take care of it right away. We couldn’t believe it! I’m sorry, but this guy either has to be trained properly, or he has to go.

My wife the duck and rated it 5 stars. I had the veal Marsala. Veal was great and very tender. I was not fond of the sauce but it was OK. The sauce had several different mushrooms and that was wonderful. We split a Caesar salad and that very nice. I gave it 4 stars because we didn't see it as a value. We had the two cheapest items on the menu and a beer and vodka. It was $ 126 and we were charged a so called conveince charge. No bread was offer probably another upcharge. Pleasant experience but overpriced.

I have been dining at Chandler's since it was opened years ago. I have only had 2 times that I have been disappointed in the food. Last week I had lunch with a friend. I ordered the Cesar salad. I was brought a huge plate of at least 2 day old Romaine lettuce that was browning and the dressing was absolutely tasteless. The grocery store shredded Parm was sparsely sprinkled on the grocery store unseasoned croutons. The new chef better step up his game.

Our Waiter Daniel was amazing. He was training somebody so he was given the responsibility of serving us dessert which we didn't mind because he has to learn. The food was exceptional. My mom got the halibut and my dad got the salmon and I got the duck. Everything was cooked as it should be and I'm convinced the chef could make me love eating anything even Brussel sprouts because they know their flavors!! Def worth the price!

We typically enjoy Chandlers very much. Unfortunately last night was not up to par. We sat for over 15 minutes before server or anyone approached our table. Caesar salad portion tiny. The server confused our order (and two tables near by). Dinner was extremely slow, our bill was incorrect and the service charge for using a credit card is a turnoff. Disappointing.

Chandlers had always been our go to place when entertaining guests. This visit was disappointing. We were seated next to the bar which was extremely noisy. The waiter forgot to bring one guests salad and food was good but not as special as previous visits. Will be looking for another restaurant for that “ special occasion” dinner

Dinner started off not great, reservations for 9:00 and not seated until 25 minutes later. Salad and bread was delicious, unfortunately the main courses were over cooked and cold. Waitress was excellent, very nice and good at her job. 3% credit card fee is ridiculous, a nice establishment doesn’t need to add this on as the prices are high enough for what you receive.

Great meal and service at Chandlers. We have been going here for years and it is usually very good. We sat in the main dining room which was very lively (ie loud). Our waiter Dayvas was very good and knew the menu well and made good recommendations. This is one of the best restaurants in Petoskey. Make sure you make a reservation especially during the weekend. Walks ins are usually impossible.

Interesting little place with indoor/outdoor dining. Service is great. Good food with sushi, duck and veal choices. Definitely noise level is high because the interior is narrow with and open kitchen and bar.
