   It's a shame that Centonove is not busier - the food is fresh and tasty, the service is friendly and efficient, and the only thing missing is the ambience that you get in a busy buzzing restaurant. My buffalo mozzarella was wonderful and my beef fillet melted in my mouth. We went for the more expensive end of the menu, but you could easily eat well for £20 per person if you didn't make it a very boozy meal.

   I had dinner there with a friend, the environment was lovely, the fire was o and we were given a table by the fireplace. It was really nice. The lady who served us was very nice, we wanted cocktails and they didn't have list but she said she would prepare anything for us so we ordered bellinis and they were marvelous. The food was standard Italian, I don't think it was rather authentic, I had a caprese sald which was lovely as it had real buffala mozzarella, but the carbonara was rather oily. The deserts were ok. Overall very good experience if you are a local to try.

   My partner and I went to Centonove for a Friday night dinner. We split a bottle of wine and a starter, and each had a lobster pasta. The starter (calamari) was perfect, and the wine was quite good as well (hence the 3 stars). However, things fell apart with our pasta. Our dish was supposed to each contain half a lobster, which we requested out of the shell - big mistake! When the plates came, it was just a tomato sauce with barely any specks of lobster meat. We then called the waiter and asked where the lobster was, and she said it was mixed in. I asked her to inspect my plate and see if she thought half a lobster was mixed in -- she took a look and said she would check with the kitchen. She came back with the empty shells and said "Yup, it's mixed in." Surprised, I asked her to look again in my plate and honestly tell me if she thought there was more than a fork's worth of lobster. She looked at my plate, couldn't see lobster, and went back to the kitchen again. This time, she returned with two small dollops of minced lobster on a plate. She apologized and said the chef had forgotten to add it in. She then left the plate with us, and we had to add in the lobster meat (barely seasoned) into our own plates at our table. It unsurprisingly didn't taste so great. For £20/plate, this is completely unacceptable. On the positive side, she did take 10% off our bill.

   Good owner managed restaurant. Quality of food very good as a result. Service could be improved upon - generally good, with occasional lapses. They offer a fixed price menu, but this did not include the items we particularly wanted. Could improve on that. I will return!

    I have walked past Centonove a number of times and finally got to try it while catching up with a friend. The Open Table menu looked interesting, but when compared to the a la carte menu, gave you no better value which felt a bit odd. We ordered a starter to share (caprese salad - lovely fresh mozzarella), and had a pizza and the chicken as mains; both of which were very generously sized and tasty. The restaurant was quite empty for a Thursday night but based on the amount of walk-ins, it seems to be a popular place for takeaway pizza. An enjoyable night, but I am not sure it delivered to its potential.
