This was a really good restaurant. The staff was very friendly, and the service was very good. The environment was different depending on the time of day and day of the week (noise level, capacity) and I imagine that also changes seasonally. A great place to have in a resort hotel!

Our waiter was not very personable, difficult to understand and never checked in us. His saving grace was the water boy who was a fantastic server. The food was mediocre and overpriced. However, the dessert was great! Not a restaurant we will be visiting again.

I have no idea why people rated this place low. Treat others the way you would want to be treated. The food was delicious, everyone was patient, helpful and on top of everything. We loved our food and my Bloody Mary was perfect with heat; I asked for a spicy one and that’s what I got. I asked if I could leave out the shrimp for my pasta and I was offered chicken if I wanted to substitute it. Like I mentioned before, we loved this place.

For a 630 weekday dinner it was empty. It is the summer, off season. What I don't understand is for an empty restaurant with 5 other tables seated at different times, why each course took 30.minutes and our waiter disappeared for 20minutes after we finished. Food was ok but overpriced.

We loved both our dining breakfast experiences here. The staff are very responsive and helpful and the omelettes and waffles were freshly made with a good selection of fresh fruit and juice options. Victor was very kind and helpful too. Highly recommend.

The worst service ever. Restaurant was empty and the food took over an hour to get. The server NEVER checked on us and I literally had to look for him, just to get my bill. Then I had to look for him to pay my bill. The food was equivalently to hospital food. The restaurant was filthy and tables and floors were sticky.

We ate here twice while stay6at the Esmerelda and were underwhelmed both times. I would not recommend if you have other options. The desert has tons of wonderful restaurants, try somewhere else.

The food at Cava and all over this resort is really subpar. I've been disappointed by very generic meals, and at other meals, by breakfasts that wouldn't even stand up favorably to the free buffets at cheap hotels. Really a shame.

Made reservations for happy hour because the hotel suggested it in case it was crowded. Nope! No customers there so we left. Came back the next day for dinner and sat outside for the atmosphere. We ordered wings (came out cold and old tasting. and sent them back for a redo;(When the new order arrived, it was hot but very dry and overcooked); cauliflower steak (tasted good) and "R Burger" (had it the day before at the pool, however, this time it came to the table over cooked and the fries were cold. We had to get it redone). The Manager never even came to apologize. Disappointed.

I’ve never experienced this level of terrible service!!!! I was truly in shock. Mean, very slow and and just awful! He didn’t want to be there and he made sure that all of us knew that.

The outstanding staff was the high point of Cava. Our server, Amparo, the chef and their staff saw to it that our son who has broad food allergies was able to enjoy a lovely dinner there. Food was delicious and we had a wonderful time.

The service was spotty at times. We had a group of 9. The food was pretty good. One persons salad was never brought out. Food arrived every 20 or 30 minutes for 3 or 4 items at a time. With main courses very late. In stages. We asked for separate checks and were told that at best they could split the bill into thirds. To our amazement, we got 3 bills showing every items price at 1/3. We were trying to understand how to pay for our own items and told to multiply them by 3!??? I left with a headache. Maybe we had inexperienced servers? Maybe there is a disconnect between the servers and the point of sale entry? It really drug the experience down.

Went there for dinner over Memorial Day weekend. What a treat! Fun location adjacent to the beautiful pool area. Good good, attentive service (thank you, Alexandria) and most of all... very kid friendly. A great gathering place for the whole family at an absolutely gorgeous resort. Well done!

Came for breakfast. Server seemed very busy but there wasn’t a lot of ppl yet. Felt rushed and as if we bothered him. Not to welcoming. Food was mediocre and never get the acai bowl. It taste like the frozen packet squeezed out of the packaging and just had added fruit. Not worth even selling

Nothing special. Extremely ordinary for a $110 Easter buffet. Tried to change number in reservations four times. No acknowledgement. At check in podium, clerk had no clue to how many or inside of outside. Treated as if no reservations. Will never bother to go again as it is over 15 mile drive

We were extremely disappointed in our experience. We had a reservation for the happy hour at 5:30. We waited 15 minutes in the empty restaurant to be noticed. Our server was rude in a way we have never experienced before. Very put off when I asked to taste a sample of a wine by the glass. It was not good. There were only 2 cabs on the happy hour menu. She said there were others available, but never showed us a list. She tried to force a $25 a glass wine, which I said was more than I wished to pay. While waiting for our meal, I went to the hotel bar to get a glass of wine. The bartender was gracious and gave me a discount because of our poor service in Cava. When the waitperson returned to the table she demanded to know where I had gotten the wine and what it was. When I told her she yelled, yes yelled at me that the $25 a glass wine she had suggested was much much better. Needless to say our further encounters were not pleasant. In addition, the food was only marginal at best. The panna cotta for dessert was very thick and lumpy; probably left over from the previous day or just poorly prepared. The server’s behavior was unconscionable. All in all, an awful experience that a poorly prepared meal could not salvage.

I felt like we were in a help yourself low budget hotel restaurant. I couldn’t tell from the picture on OpenTable that it was in a hotel or I wouldn’t have chosen to dine there. Service was terrible but food was good. Had to pay for the valet parking also.

We are locals from Indian Wells. The music and service was amazing. The food price was a little high for the ambiance. This is not a upscale restaurant. My cocktails were very weak, one star. The menu lacked some creativity! Let’s be honest! The wine list… Horrible! FYI… No one ever mentioned the buffet! At the same evening our friends went there and they were offered the buffet! We will let all our local friends know. Thanks

Hostess was not very friendly when seating us. She simply put menus down and walked away. No one told us about the buffet. After we ordered an appetizer, we saw patrons in the other room keep getting up and going to another area. We asked if there was a buffet and we’re finally told that there was one, for $35pp. Everything in the buffet but the entrees were served in individual cups. The crab salad was good as was the Caesar salad. The lamb was overcooked, but the bbq chicken was tasty. The roasted veggies looked unappealing so we skipped them. The cous cous was absolutely delicious (parm, spinach, and tomatoes, with Israeli cous cous). The desserts were just ok. The one member of our party who didn’t get the buffet was disappointed that her dessert choice (passion fruit crème brûlée) was “86ed” according to our server. As to service, they cleared the Ahi Nacho bowl but left our app plates and used buffet plates on the table until we left. The wine list is quite small and wines are listed on a haphazard order with no details about the wines. The resort is lovely but I expected a higher quality in ther high end restaurant.

Enjoyed breakfast at Cava while staying at the Renaissance Esmeralda resort. The food was fresh, tasty, and good quality. We had the avocado toast and Huevos Rancheros - both of which were yummy. Our server was very friendly, prompt and served us with a smile. The outdoor dining option was great- we loved sitting in the sun, seeing the sparkly pool and the palm trees. Overall, it was a great experience.

My husband and I had a late lunch at the Cava restaurant. Our waiter was attentive and helpful. The chicken sandwich was crispy, fresh and tasty. The tuna salad was fresh, with good ingredients, though I did not love the sweetish taste of the dressing. For appetizers we had the shrimp ceviche and the guacamole, salsa and chips - all of which were good. Good indoor and outdoor dining options.
