We had a fantastic experience at Catch for a special occasion. The service was excellent and the food was very tasty. They treated us very well, bringing a few surprises from the chef to make it a memorable evening. The space is lovely too within one of Calgary's historic buildings. It's true - you can get great seafood in landlocked Calgary. The only drawback: one member of our party has trouble with stairs. I asked if there was an elevator and was told only a service elevator. It would have been better to direct us to the adjacent hotel escalators and elevator than have us climb the stairs. We didn't let that spoil our evening, however. Thanks for a great night!

We enjoyed an early Valentine's Day dinner at Catch on the weekend. Our server was very attentive from the moment we arrived. The food was excellent - attractively plated and absolutely delicious. They were very accommodating of particular dietary requests and surprised us by generously offering to compensate when my first entrée selection was not available (they had just run out of sablefish but my second choice, the ling cod, was fantastic!) I also appreciate the acknowledgment of sustainably caught ingredients. We would highly recommend Catch Restaurant Upstairs and in particular the scallop starter, sea bass or ling cod entrees, and crème brulee. Yum!

Great dinner. Superb service. We arrived at 6 pm vexause we couldn't get a reservation for any other time on Open Table. We sat for 2 hours enjoying our dinner and nobody else came in. Would really think before I'd use Open Table again.

Food was excellent but portion sizes were very small. The portion size combined with the price made it very expensive and low value for the price paid. Too many other options that makes a return visit unlikely.

Actually we dined at the main level and all was fantastic! Mussels cooked to perfection big plump delectable Mussels......service impeccable! Waitress was extraordinary!

Overall, the meal was good and bad. I would still recommend Catch but I will say that our experience last December was much better. They changed the menu and the most important item (Seafood tower) was removed. Good: Fillet of Beef was amazing and is sourced locally (mushrooms and potatoes were also very good). The Oysters and Arctic Char was also amazing. The server was great as well. The lobster was good, not great though. Cocktails were great. Bad: Menu has changed and is very small. They also removed the Seafood tower - this was amazing and can't believe they removed it. The scallop appetizer cost $20 and only came with 2 very small scallops! The snow crab appetizer cost $17 and came with a few string sections of crab on some quinoa, very plain. Not a major issue but the lights in the restaurant were too bright for an evening dinner and for a Saturday evening it was very slow. A couple xmas parties in the private rooms but the upstairs only had a couple tables filled.
