A wonderful meal and great service as usual. First visit for our guest who also had a great experience.
We celebrated my husband’s 80th at Carson’s America Kitchen, and it was a delightful experience for all 15 of us.
The ambiance was lovely, the food was delicious and offered a nice variety, with dishes to please any diner. And the service was superb!
We would highly recommend this to friends, and look forward to enjoying the experience again on our next visit to Sunriver!
Stayed at the lodge and made reservations at Carson's for the first night. Not really necessary as the place was virtually empty, although in fairness it was a Sunday evening. We were given the menu as well as a "Specials Menu". There were two specials and we were told that there was only 'one' prime rib sandwich left. The dinner hour had just started. My husband had the pulled pork pasta which he said was fine. I ordered the burger and was really disappointed. The bun was cold, not toasted and honestly wasn't worth the $17.50 they charged. We went the next night to Village Bar and Grill and had excellent food at a fraction of the price.
Breakfast was really good. The portions were large & service was excellent. We especially enjoyed the Bloody Mary cart!
Breakfast was great. I had the Oregon Bounty Benedict and the truffle Hollandaise sauce was awesome. My daughter had chocolate chip pancakes and loved them.
VERY DISAPPOINTED IN THE FACT THAT A DOG IS AT A TABLE ...EVEN BEING FED
PEOPLE WITH DOG NEED MANNERS ...DOG KEPT BARKING LUNGED AND GROWLED AND SNAPPED AT WAITER .. NOT GOOD!!!WAITER WAS VERY GOOD AND DID HIS BEST TO CONTROL DOG AS OWNERS DIDNT SEEM TO CARE.
YES WE WERE AT A RESTRAUNT NOT A DOG KENNEL OR DOG PARK
DOG HAIR IS NOT HEALTHY ... I AM SORRY BUT WE LEAVE ANIMALS WHERE THEY BELONG OUTSIDE
IF RESTRAUNTS CATER TO FEEDING DOGS THEY NEED A PEOPLE ONLY SECTION..
I HAVE A THERAPY HORSE SHALL I BRING IT TO DINNER WITH ME. BET THEY WOULDNT ALLOW ME IN WITH MY THERAPY ANIMAL.
THIS DOG WAS NOT MARKED AS ANYTHING "IE" THERAPY AND WAS MEAN SPIRITED
WHAT ABOUT OTHER PEOPLE SITTING RIGHT NEXT TO THE DOG DO THEY NOLONGER HAVE RIGHTS..... WAS NOT A TRAINED DOG NOR TRAINED OWNERS
NOT AT ALL HAPPY THAT THIS WAS ALLOWED... DOG WAS VERY DIRTY AND UNCARED FOR.A
Very disappointing evening. Limited menu is one thing but overall quality was very poor.
The prefix dinner was disappointing. Everything felt like it had been sitting around on a food line waiting for the next order. Definitely not cooked for each person. Slightly warm/cold. Vegetables overdone and it was not worth the 85.00 person.
We booked at Carson’s for a family dinner while on vacation in SunRiver. Based on the menu prices, proximity to our vacation home and overall star rating we anticipated a fine dining experience. Instead we had okay service with not so okay food at an expensive price. The setting was lovely but the quality of food will keep us from returning.
Our waitress was excellent however the food was marginal at best. Prime rib was undercooked and not very tasty and my wife’s only vegetarian option was an expensive large chunk of cauliflower with a couple other small vegetables sprinkled in. Will not go back. The Mexican restaurant in the village was much better and way less expensive.
Mediocre food. French onion soup tasted like canned broth and rubber cheese. Salads, though nicely presented, had no dressing. Herb butter was too overbearing. Candied walnuts on salad tasted rancid. Did have a pleasant server.
Enjoyed the Christmas lights
The spectacular Christmas lights made the ambience. Our group of 6 was given a rounded booth which was nice for conversation. Noise was not a problem on a Monday night at the beginning of the Christmas holiday. In fact, there were few diners in the restaurant. The service was very good. Overall, our party thought the menu was quite limited (check it out before you go) and what was there was overpriced, as was the wine. Perhaps this is to be expected for a resort, but as locals, we were quite disappointed.
We dined here twice during our stay. Service was wonderful both times. Food was fantastic. The second visit included our rambunctious 2 year old. The meal was prepared quickly and the staff was very attentive to our needs.
Will return. Sunriver has managed to keep this dining updated, both with the wonderful chef/kitchen and the updated decor.
Terrific wine selection - especially the PNW.
Liz, the manager, was a delight. Very accommodating for our group. Even was available for some photo taking at the end of our meal.
It was ok, but options were limited, especially if you are into healthy fish or white meat choices. Otherwise it was good food.
The new Carson’s is such a great place so we were really dissapointed that the last 2 times we have been that the food quality has declined. Service was great. Beef vegetable soup had a fatty broth. Not good. Pasta carbonara I got was just terrible. Runny watery sauce. Flavorless. Cauliflower soggy and lifeless. Bread was good. Usually when we go we are able to get a hot dog for our 4 year old, but this time the server couldn’t talk the kitchen into it. Dissapointing as the previous 3 times we got the hotdogtapus in the dining room. I’m sure you had a hot dog in the kitchen? Why not accommodate a regular guest and homeowner? Waitress tried. Sauvignon Blanc was served lukewarm not chilled. We love this place and want to see it succeed , it was great the first year but the kitchen has declined in the last 6 months significantly.
Had thanksgiving here, so a limited menu but it was amazing. Great wine list. Lovely holiday ambiance.
Good food. Great service. Outstanding view.
I had the pork chop which was nicely spicy.
The bucket of fries was nice, but not my style. The fries were lightly battered. Good fries don't need help. They were good but a bit too rich.
My wife had the salmon on a salad. Plenty of salmon and excellent arugula greens. She loved the way they did the dressing on the bottom.
Celebration of life dinner. Great wine to toast with. Food always delicious. The sunset was spectacular!
Have spoken with the manager about what was wrong. Hopefully they will correct it.
Got off to a bad start. The hostess originally tried seating us at a table next to the main walkway. I asked for a booth, and she seemed annoyed. She then seated us at a booth along the same main walkway. There was absolutely no privacy. Every person that walked by stared and it was REALLY annoying. This was not how I wanted breakfast on my 50th birthday! Food and service was mediocre. The whole dining experience was not worth the price. We plan on returning to Sunriver Resort, but will not dine again at Carson's American Kitchen.
The food was very good! Service was excellent! We were surprised that the wine was stored at room temp. Our bottle of Pinot Noir was very good but came to the table to warm. Great place with wonderful service and views!
Carson's was great for my wife and my 3rd anniversary date while staying near Bend. Short drive into Sunriver Resort. Easy parking, good attentive service, good food and a nice location overlooking the golf course.
Our server was incredible! The food was very good!
The server was great, the ambiance wonderful and the food was okay.
Went to Carson's for our 30th Wedding Anniversary and were seated promptly only to have to wait 15 minutes for water and menus. My wife adored her 3 Mahi Mahi Tacos, and at $26 I was happy she did. However, my $37 Flat Iron Steak came to me rare after ordering it medium. It took a while to get it back but it came back right and the flavor was excellent. The restaurant did give us a bit of a discount on the steak which was very nice. The view is spectacular looking out over the golf course with Mt. Bachelor in the distance.
We had a very lovely experience. Staff and food was excellent!
Place was jumping with kids. Took long time to get a drink. Noisy. Food was good.
Menu was interesting and the Brussel sprout appetizer was delightful. Great view and a wonderful place for a large group. We will be back.
The food was great! We both had an appetizer and then split the main course which was trout. All the dishes were delicious. The deserts were also great!
The food and service can only be described as first class. It is a relitively small restaurant run completely by the students of CIA in the Napa valley. It offers a set menu, but with several choices in each category to satisfy anyone. Great evening.
On a recent visit to SunRiver we scheduled our last night as a date night at Carson's. We sat on the lovely patio overlooking the fire and golf course. The food was wonderful and the service excellent. It was a lovely way to end our vacation.
Great Sunday brunch
Service good, food adequate but overpriced. Dress too casual and too many unrestrained children.
The best thing about Carson's kitchen is that it is always available and conveniently accessible, if you are in Sunriver, with an interesing menu, terrific food, and great service.
Ask if the Salmon is wild - if it is, I recommend the Spinach Salad with Wild Salmon. Best I've ever had! Iced Tea is excellent.
Brace yourself; it is resort pricing. But when you consider what they have to do to keep it available whether the resort is slack or full and the ambiance of the total property, it is worth it.
For the prices, average of high 20's/low 30's a plate, one expects much better. They miss attention to detail like a serving spoon with a community appetizer (roasted brussel sprouts), replacing fork and butter knife after first course, and something other than a mason jar as a water glass. The ambiance is also lacking. It's very loud, and the furnishings look like they were acquired at a Denny's fire sale. Pricing is far too high for the quality of food. The beet salad is 90% day old arugula (not fresh) with only a few beets. The tacos are very tasty but again too expensive for what they are. I will say that our server was very affable and attentive. Overall, I say make the drive into Bend of you want to drop $200 on a meal for two. You'll have a much better meal and experience.
Great service and excellent menu. Really a nice refresh job of this place. We love it now.
