Delicious sea bass and outstanding service! Special treatment for our anniversary.
As always, great food, reasonable price, great service
Everything exceeded our expectations!
The wine, the trout, the veggies- and especially the service!
Took big group and all commented on how great each of their meals were. Will be back.
We truly enjoyed the service. There is a beautiful atmosphere and the food was amazing. Even tho it was late, they still got us a table, which was a great gesture. Thank you.
Clueless in the kitchen! No excuse for food this mediocre/poor.
A local meal out. Terrific!🤗
Bad service. Really disappointing. No way around it. Thought we were on an episode of "What would you do?" or something. We had a party of six and sat for nearly 20 minutes before anyone came to acknowledge us. After that... it got worse. Simple requests ("Can we get an extra plate?") weren't honored. We felt like we were in the way. The food was very good but I can't give anything more than one or two stars for a place that is poorly managed and doesn't understand basic principles of service.
Take drink order.
Take food order.
None of it went smoothly.
Epic fail for a place that doesn't plain understand how good it could be. We had a spilled glass of water that nobody ever realized was spilled. We asked for a spare plate and had to go to kitchen ourselves to get it. We had to walk around the place, serving ourselves. Literally bad service... the bill was slow. We sat, and sat, and waited, hoping to see if the server would bring the bill.
Maybe it was a bad night. But I have too many options to give it another chance.
We came here expecting fine dining but found that the view was spectacular but the food was expensive and lackluster. We had the Thyime rubbed chicken which is basically an adult size chicken nugget - reconstituted chicken breaded. The watermelon salad had promise but was odd and not an appetizing presentation. A big disappointment. My mom and sister got the Carsonara pasta and enjoyed it. Overall it was very expensive for a mediocre meal. Hope they can improve the menu.
The service was very prompt and friendly. The ambience with the view of the golf course, the patio and activities going on was incredible! Food was unique and extremely flavorful. Loved the new beef ribs dish they chef had just introduced.
The food and drinks were excellent. Our server, Bethany, was just great. She went above and beyond to make sure our drinks were just the way we wanted them, and gave suggestions on the food. Had the beet salad, and a side salad, both of which were fantastic. Our main dishes were also wonderful. We will be back!
Loved the food and the beautiful view. So good to our children, treated with respect and care. Will definitely be back!
The food was very good. The service was excellent.
Very friendly and attentive service, food was prepared and presented well, prices fair for the quality of service/food.
Rustic upscale ambiance with beautiful views of the Cascade Mountains. Recommended.
Had a great birthday dinner with my wife. The server, Frank, was fantastic. The manager checked on us twice to make sure everything is all right. Got a complimentary dessert for my birthday. Had a great time as always.
Very nice experience. I will recommend to my friends!
Beautiful, green views, eclectic menu with interesting ingredients. The Strawberry Rhubarb mule was a little medicinal tasting. The grilled artichoke was over charred with a slightly too spicy dipping sauce. Side salads were basic. The trout was excellent. My son and I shared the Lava Butte Bowl and both had major stomach issues that night...Desserts were good, nothing special. The Marion berry dessert was like eating an entire jar of warm jam...kind of delicious, kind of too much all at the same time. Servers were very accommodating and attentive.
Great family dining. Good options for kids.
Great service! Arriveda bit early for dinner but waitress and chef accommodated us nicey with ribeyes which was just what we wanted. Would recommend to all!
I highly recommend the pulled pork benedict - it was absolutely delicious! The view was unbeatable! Sit outside if you can
We've been here for dinner and brunch recently-both were amazing!
Appreciate the Gluten Free menu options as wife is Gluten intolerant. Bethany (waitress) was very good and very friendly.
There should be bread that is dairy free. Difficult for someone with a dairy allergy. Same comment re the black bean burger.
Overall service and ambiance was good but the food execution is where this experience went south. I ordered the evening "special entree" described as 6 oz filet served on cauliflower puree with grilled broccoli spears and topped with Dungeness crab... ok sounds pretty delicious right?
What arrived was a sous vide fillet gray in color as it was not grilled before serving literally dropped into a bowl of stone cold puree (imagine a rock dropped in to a muddy shoreline). The crab was flaked and served to side of the filet also on top of the cold puree. The broccoli was over-cooked albeit the only warm thing left on the plate by the time it was served.
Trying be positive as the rest of table was happy with their entrees I suffered through it but now regret not sending it back after I received a bill for my $45 special entree. Sadly a poor kitchen execution and major plating problem turned a "what-could-have-been" dish into this review.
Unfortunately we executed the special x 2 for us at the table... When we voiced our concerns to the server they said they could not refund the entree (ok, I get that we ate it) but then offered to remove/reduce a $25 corkage fee... we'll let's just say we received a $15 dollar discount on our corkage fee which pretty much did me in. Seriously, you can't waive an entire corkage fee...
@Carson's Kitchen, sadly we will not be back. We are long time residents in the area and for the past 20+ years visited the SunRiver lodge for special dinning occasions. I love the lodge but if you had to compete in the Portland market you would be closed in a matter of weeks. Please, don't rely on a captive audience, instead raise the bar and give the folks in Bend a reason to make the 20 minute drive and dine in what could be a great establishment.
Signed, disappointed on my b-day.
Reunion with friends.
Mother's day brunch was great as usual. Been doing it for years!!
The view looking out of the restaurant is beautiful! We enjoyed sitting in a booth against the glass looking into the kitchen, so our three year old was amused by the friendly kitchen staff behind us who even sent out a few complimentary donut holes which were the best part of the meal. The rest of our meals were all bland, although they did give generous portions of salsa and guacamole with the burrito which was nice. Our server was mostly absent and the unimpressive food, especially for the price was disappointing.
Great location at a great resort! Loved the location and the scenery! I'll be back to do more things and will definitely stop at Carson's.
A wonderful meal and great service as usual. First visit for our guest who also had a great experience.
We celebrated my husband’s 80th at Carson’s America Kitchen, and it was a delightful experience for all 15 of us.
The ambiance was lovely, the food was delicious and offered a nice variety, with dishes to please any diner. And the service was superb!
We would highly recommend this to friends, and look forward to enjoying the experience again on our next visit to Sunriver!
Stayed at the lodge and made reservations at Carson's for the first night. Not really necessary as the place was virtually empty, although in fairness it was a Sunday evening. We were given the menu as well as a "Specials Menu". There were two specials and we were told that there was only 'one' prime rib sandwich left. The dinner hour had just started. My husband had the pulled pork pasta which he said was fine. I ordered the burger and was really disappointed. The bun was cold, not toasted and honestly wasn't worth the $17.50 they charged. We went the next night to Village Bar and Grill and had excellent food at a fraction of the price.
Breakfast was really good. The portions were large & service was excellent. We especially enjoyed the Bloody Mary cart!
Breakfast was great. I had the Oregon Bounty Benedict and the truffle Hollandaise sauce was awesome. My daughter had chocolate chip pancakes and loved them.
VERY DISAPPOINTED IN THE FACT THAT A DOG IS AT A TABLE ...EVEN BEING FED
PEOPLE WITH DOG NEED MANNERS ...DOG KEPT BARKING LUNGED AND GROWLED AND SNAPPED AT WAITER .. NOT GOOD!!!WAITER WAS VERY GOOD AND DID HIS BEST TO CONTROL DOG AS OWNERS DIDNT SEEM TO CARE.
YES WE WERE AT A RESTRAUNT NOT A DOG KENNEL OR DOG PARK
DOG HAIR IS NOT HEALTHY ... I AM SORRY BUT WE LEAVE ANIMALS WHERE THEY BELONG OUTSIDE
IF RESTRAUNTS CATER TO FEEDING DOGS THEY NEED A PEOPLE ONLY SECTION..
I HAVE A THERAPY HORSE SHALL I BRING IT TO DINNER WITH ME. BET THEY WOULDNT ALLOW ME IN WITH MY THERAPY ANIMAL.
THIS DOG WAS NOT MARKED AS ANYTHING "IE" THERAPY AND WAS MEAN SPIRITED
WHAT ABOUT OTHER PEOPLE SITTING RIGHT NEXT TO THE DOG DO THEY NOLONGER HAVE RIGHTS..... WAS NOT A TRAINED DOG NOR TRAINED OWNERS
NOT AT ALL HAPPY THAT THIS WAS ALLOWED... DOG WAS VERY DIRTY AND UNCARED FOR.A
Very disappointing evening. Limited menu is one thing but overall quality was very poor.
The prefix dinner was disappointing. Everything felt like it had been sitting around on a food line waiting for the next order. Definitely not cooked for each person. Slightly warm/cold. Vegetables overdone and it was not worth the 85.00 person.
We booked at Carson’s for a family dinner while on vacation in SunRiver. Based on the menu prices, proximity to our vacation home and overall star rating we anticipated a fine dining experience. Instead we had okay service with not so okay food at an expensive price. The setting was lovely but the quality of food will keep us from returning.
Our waitress was excellent however the food was marginal at best. Prime rib was undercooked and not very tasty and my wife’s only vegetarian option was an expensive large chunk of cauliflower with a couple other small vegetables sprinkled in. Will not go back. The Mexican restaurant in the village was much better and way less expensive.
Mediocre food. French onion soup tasted like canned broth and rubber cheese. Salads, though nicely presented, had no dressing. Herb butter was too overbearing. Candied walnuts on salad tasted rancid. Did have a pleasant server.
Enjoyed the Christmas lights
