We were in for a family weekend and it was our first time dining at Carrollton Market. It is situated in River Bend in a renovated shotgun home so as the evening went on, it became quite lively. The food was wonderful. We had the steak frites and Mediterranean bass with ratatouille. Both were outstanding. The appetizers were delicious....try the Oysters Goodenough....I had them without the bacon but if you can eat bacon, go for it as it would have been a great addition. We also had the Cajun Caviar Tartlet and it was different but in a wonderful way. The cocktail that most enjoyed was ‘Death and Taxes’ a lemony tequila concoction that was a perfect summer drink. Their wines by the glass are eclectic and interesting also. Now to desert....the milk chocolate pot a’creme as well as the cinnamon bun bread pudding...both were decadent and delicious. Go and try it.....you will not be disappointed.

fantastic dinner as always. Carrollton Market is easily one of our favorite restaurants in all of New Orleans. Great appetizers from oysters, to crab cakes, to foie gras and very good salmon. Loupe du Mer fish dish was excellent as was the duck confit. Chocolate pot dessert an excellent finish. Lots of parking, and not far off the streetcar line where St. Charles turns to Carrollton. Highly recommend this restaurant which also has a great brunch on weekends.

Entrees were the best ! Their fish dish was nice size and would order again and again! The crabmeat appetizer was just ok, as we normally get the oysters goodenough which we would go back to!

I work with Chef Goodenough's wife so we've long been wanting to try Carrollton Market. We don't get out to fancy dinners too often anymore with a toddler so I was excited to make a reservation for my family for Father's Day brunch. We tried the Cinnamon Roll (divine), Oysters Good Enough Omelet, the Brunch Burger, the Grits, the Roast Beef Biscuit Hollandaise, and the Crab Cake Benedict. Everything was absolutely excellent. My dad said it was the best breakfast he's ever had. The fresh squeezed orange juice was also delicious. Service was wonderful and we can't wait to return to try it for dinner soon. Carrollton Market, Chef Goodenough, and his crew certainly deserve all the accolades they have received and we're sure many more are to come!

We couldn't decide on a standard appetizer-entree-dessert combo so we did a tasting menu of most of the appetizers then shared an entree and dessert. The food was outstanding. The appetizers we tried were the crawfish, bacon-wrapped fried oysters, the crab cake, which were all delicious. The oysters, served on a bed of shredded leeks sautéed in bacon renderings, was the standout. Hands down the best oysters I've ever eaten. Then we had the foie gras, served on a slice of their cinnamon roll buns, which made me run home and slap my momma. We split the pork belly for the entree which was prepared perfectly with a nice crisp on the outside. Finally we had the bread pudding for dessert, also made from their cinnamon rolls that they serve ealier in the day. Everything was just fabulous!

Excellent meal as always at Carrollton Market. Very creative menu that you will enjoy. Very friendly staff that work together well. The bar has excellent special drinks that change with seasons. All the appetizers are fantastic. You could order several and have a great meal. The oysters are always good. I really like the crawfish appetizer. Last night they had a very nice vichyssoise. Crabcakes and foie gras also very good. I also like the salmon very much. You really cannot go wrong with any of the appetizers. For a main course there are several selections of excellent fish. All are good. They do have steak, duck and an occasional pork chop for those who do not like seafood. However, you should not miss all the great seafood when you come here. End with the chocolate pot, and you will come back for more. Easy parking, and a trip to uptown river bend area that is well worth it.

Oysters are always a hit here. They’re very plump now and they can be ordered as described on menu or lightened up to let the oysters shine through. Appreciate the flexibility.
Redfish filet on a bed of spinach with tiny cauliflower, spring pea purée , and a light vermouth cream sauce was an excellent choice.
This restaurant has become extremely creative and offers alternatives to meat. Many staff members have remained since opening

Every time we’re lucky enough to get to visit our favorite city, we endeavor to try at least one new restaurant and almost every time, we wish we had just gone back to Carrollton Market a 2nd (or 3rd) time during our visit because it *never* disappoints. The pork belly was “last meal on earth” worthy (my dish) and my husband declared the crispy duck, absolutely sublime. While we were celebrating a special occasion this trip, we’ve always found their hospitality to be warm, generous and impeccable. We will return as often as we can to this hidden gem. Promise.

It's a pleasure to recognize 'Excellence All Around' at the Carrollton Market for brunch. We chose this spot on the recommendation of a member of our party who had what he described as the best meal of his life there earlier. We had a tableful of Graduation Celebrants for my daughters University Graduation. We shared the Cream cheese filled French Toast, then everyone had a brunch entree. Outstanding food and wonderful, friendly, efficient service. Great drink menu. What a Winner! Will go back when we return to New Orleans.

We went to Carrollton Market for a birthday lunch. We had a reservation towards the end of lunch service, but they had already started cleaning up the restaurant when we arrived. While all of our meals were great, the sound of clanking plates and the smell of the wash in the kitchen overpowered what would have a been a great culinary experience.

Definitely one of our favorite restaurants in Uptown New Orleans. Very creative foods and flavors. The crab galette and crawfish appetizers are fantastic some of the best in New Orleans. The oyster Goodenough appetizer has been a star for many years. There are always several fresh fish dishes with great sauces. Meat lovers are not left out with steaks, duck, foie gras etc. Last night speckle trout was excellent. The chocolate pot du cream is a great finish. Very good bar with special cocktails. The service overall is fantastic, and all seem to work together well. Well worth the trip to the river bend area. If downtown, you could even take the streetcar and get off within a block at St. Charles and Carrollton
