This restaurant is best for large parties - our party of 3 couldn’t even make it through one app and a salad, never even making it to the entrees. :-/ Service was lovely and food was good - just far too much of it.

Service was 10/10! Food was absolutely amazing. Started with the stuffed mushrooms which were so great, then got the rigatoni with broccoli and chicken parm as the entrees. Pasta and the sauces were amazing, but wasn’t a fan of the chicken parm.

Beautiful night! Beautiful, large, multi-family, Friday, summer night, 6:15pm dinner, with young children, convenient to National Mall and Metro. The food was perfect, and the environment was just right for us. Our party was 5 children (3-8 years old), and 4 adults. We're local, and we love Carmines! We were meeting friends from Cali for Friday night family dinner after they toured the National Mall. They were arriving on foot from the Smithsonian we were arriving from the Metro. Both groups traveling with young children found it a very convenient location. Very flexible, everything from suit and tie to shorts and t-shirts. Big business events, quiet date nights, family dinner, tour groups, and locals. When I was a young kid, Carmine's NYC was the first place I ever had calamari, and I still think their calamari platter is one of the best. Grazie, bella cena!

Food good, but portions huge. Server warns you but it's still too much food. Hate waste and two people made little impression on the calamari starter. Pasta was very good and more manageable.

We had a 7:00 reservation and were seated shortly after. Both the hostess and our server were lovely. We ordered drinks and the hot antipasto as an appetizer. That was very filling and was a nice variety. For our meal we opted for the chicken marsala and lasagna. My personal favorite was the marsala. We got cannolis to go and they were very good. Only downside was the time it took the appetizer to come with our dinner coming very shortly after. App was ordered with drinks but took 40 mins and food arrived just after and was at a cooler temperature than the app. We also had to ask for the house bread basket as it wasn’t brought out with out app or dinner. Everything still tasted good. Overall it was a great place to enjoy with family.

Wonderful selection of Italian entrees served family style, extensive menu with a variety of pastas, meats and vegetarian dishes. Warm atmosphere, and hospitality from all the servers and staff given in an energetic dining atmosphere. Perfect for families and large groups.

The food was absolutely amazing!! Nadia was our server and she made thr experience unforgettable! Her recommendations and sweet and friendly personality was top notch! It was a great evening for us as we celebrated our 35th anniversary! Highly recommend! 😍❤️

Food was great. service was great, and quick. it was family style which was perfect for our family of 6. they even recommended one plate of pasta for the table which i'm glad he did because the portions were huge.
