Carmine’s is ideal for large groups with family style dishes in huge portions to share. For our lunch for two, we ordered one entree and one salad on the lunch menu and there was enough leftover for a third person. The tricky part is deciding what one dish you want to share since you’d be crazy to order two separate entrees. Our server was very persuasive to explain how this works. The food was very good and service very attentive. Just plan on taking food home no matter what.

Ta'Shyra provided great service and recommendations that made our anniversary lunch a lovely occasion. Thank you to Nandi and staff. The food and drinks was delicious.

We waited over 45 mins for food. All we ordered was chicken and spaghetti for 3 people. I would t take kids unless you’re willing to wait.

The staff’s attitude are mostly terrible/not good, not like a restraint of such pricing. The food is pretty good, just terrible people and service.

We have a child with severe gluten allergies so finding an Italian restaurant we can eat at is tricky. Our family loves Carmines! Our son with the allergies has requested to have his birthday dinner here 2 years in a row, it is that good. The family size portions fills up 3 hungry teen boys easily! The location in DC is convenient to lots of DC activities.

The overall experience was very good. The food was good not amazing but good enough to come back. Family style serving so it was communal and fun to serve each other and enjoy. No single serve meals so if you have dietary restrictions be prepared to order a family size even for 1 person. The service was top notch though and made the visit worth it as we celebrated two graduations and three fathers for Father’s Day all in one meal.

My wife and I were truly blown away by the service, food, and experience at Carmine’s. Their family serving style left us with leftovers that lasted several days after our dinner, and the food was amazing. Our server was very attentive to our needs and explained the serving style (which was new to us) so we did not accidentally over order. Will be coming back again!

We were rushed through our meal. We were not offered dessert. We had to ask for the dessert menu. We arrived at 7:45. The restaurant closed at 9:00. There was a large party that was still going strong when we left.
