Let me just say BIG PORTIONS…. And very tasty! They serve family style and the 3 of us had one pasta (vodka ), a veal Marsala and garlic cheese bread ….. we all enjoyed but could not come close to finishing it! Perfect for families and groups. Our 16 year old loved it.

This restaurant is seriously underrated! The food portions are enough for 4-5 hearty appetites. Hands down the best Caesar salad I’ve ever had and the marinara was so fresh. 11/10. Will definitely make this a trip staple.

The food was fresh and amazing and a huge heaping amount. But the star of the meal was the titanic ice cream banana split with a chocolate tort. It could feed 10 pp.

This restaurant is fun for a special occasion. With its huge family style portions, you could not go often. The pasta dishes are very yummy but I thought the salad was average. However, the best/most noteworthy part of this restaurant experience is the service. Our server on Saturday was fantastic! The service alone would keep us coming back and driving into the city!

This was our second time eating at Carmines in Washington DC. The first experience was fantastic…everything from the food to the service was great. But this time, sadly, not so much. First, they seemed to be short staffed so not the servers fault for being pulled in multiple directions but regardless, we did a lot of waiting at the beginning even to be greeted and at the end, waiting for our check. Secondly, the food on this occasion wasn’t as good. We ordered the garlic bread as an appetizer (which was a hit last time), but at this meal, it was lacking. The bread was overcooked and the flavors almost nonexistent. *We did order the caesar salad and it was fantastic. We both commented that the salad was the tastiest part of the meal. We also ordered a pitcher of sangria and it seemed to have an almost sour taste (like the wine they used was possibly sour/going bad. *We additionally had chicken parmesan and it was delicious so no complaints there. All in all… we will return if for no other reason than the fresh and yummy salad!

We had a group of 5 and ordered an appetizer (garlic bread) a pasta dish and chicken dish. The pasta and chicken were excellent! The garlic bread was dry and limited in flavor. The food amount was perfect for our group of 5!
