Worth every penny! The chef created a very creative experience and we will definitely be back.
Shhhhh! This is a very underrated gem in Austin. Fine food. Fine cocktails. Fine wine. The rib eye was tender and cooked to perfection. The beef carpaccio was a light and flavorful start to our meal. The lemon lemon lemon dessert lived up to its name. This restaurant is quiet! No shouting to your dining companion. We eagerly look forward to going back.
Just looking to have a nice dinner after a hard day moving out our Daugther from her apartment. Excellent service, food and excellent place to listen to your friends.
The Carillon is by far our favorite restaurant. We absolutely love dining here! The staff always make us feel welcome and the food is by far one of the best we've ever had. Every dish is delicately crafted to please the eyes as well as your taste buds. The local and fresh ingredients are masterfully prepared to balance each other with each bite. I can go on forever, but The Carillon simply offers the best. We are lifelong customers!
Great food with great presentation! Excellent service! Low cost relative to food quality!
The Carillon staff were Welcoming and Attentive! We were from out of town and thought we could give this place a try. The new Chef did a great job on presentation of the dishes! The George Banks Scallops was my chosen dish. I would like it a bit more moist and flavorful. The Steak! Yum! It was cooked to perfection along with being nice and tender! The Dessert, Chocolate Mousse was incredible! Keep up the Hard Work!
The service was awesome and the food was great as well! I wish there were more options on the menu but the ribeye was GREAT!
One of the best meal experiences I have had in Austin! The selection, quality and service were superb. Seasonal ingredients prepared in creatively scrumptious dishes. Had the soft shell crab appetizer, snapper entree and buttermilk strawberry rhubarb panna cotta dessert. My mouth is watering just recalling the details! The beverage selection was equally satisfying and had a great Willamette Valley pinot noir that was unfamiliar. I cannot wait to return on another trip.
The 3 course pre fix meal is an excellent value. Our table had several entrees and they were all very good and ample servings. The best dessert by far was the lemon lemon, the corn pound cake was just ok. The atmosphere is quiet and very nice. Our service was excellent -she was attentive and engaging
I really like this restaurant food was awesome and very beautiful service everybody is very nice this place.. I will go this place again.
Excellent food and service. Great value too with the summer 3 course special. Food presentation was wonderful and ingredients very fresh.
Impecable service as always. Wonderful spring menu. And the smoked crab rillettes to die for. Initially, the oysters were not available then were brought to us when someone cancelled their order. How nice of the staff. Thank you, Oscar! Love the oysters here. This has become our monthly go to. Always very good experience.
The Carillon was convenient for dinner before an event at Bass Concert Hall. Wednesday dinner specials (wine & cheese board, prix fixe menu) were a bonus! The scallops and the red snapper were both delicious. The chocolate banoffee mousse was delightful. We look forward to dining here again.
Food is always good. I noticed a bit of a decline in waitstaff service, but nothing that was bad, just less than their usual 5 star level. (waitress kept on announcing prices of meals when I told her not to mention price since I was paying all; server poured soup into bowl in front of me from too high a level, splashing soup on me and table; wine steward spent too long on explanations of wine pairings while our food sat getting cool) I will go back, no doubt. The food, wine, and surroundings are wonderful!
wonderful service. one vegetable item was over cooked but waitress did an awesome job replacing with another item and discounted the entree.
Didn't know what to expect with the prior negative comments but found wonderful ambiance. Service expert. Dishes interesting and beautifully prepared. Quiet, adult atmosphere.
Start to finish, excellent. One of the best in the city.
EVERYTHING from the service, the food, the ambience & presentation was perfect.
Hand down, Great people, amazibg atmosphere, and beautiful food! It's very worth while, different flavors and things my wife and I never tried.
I'd recommend this place to anyone looking for a finer area!
We certainly enjoyed our brunch with one exception. Used silverware was not replaced. Not acceptable for an almost $200.00 meal.
It was great and the food was amazing. I just eat way too much of it.
We really enjoyed our dinner at Carillon tonight. Food was wonderful, presentations lovely, staff was most friendly and amenable. We will definitely return.
Inventive food preparation, served well, and very quiet. You can hear your table companions easily. We had an event we needed to get to rather early, but the staff insured we made it easily. We appreciated their help.
The food was fantastic. It was prepared perfectly. The entire staff was extremely accommodating and professional. We will definitely return and highly recommend this dining experience.
We visit the Carillon often, the most recent time for a birthday celebration. The ambiance is quiet and refined. The menu is not large, but each item is thoughtfully and expertly prepared. We often go on Tuesdays when they have northeast oysters at $1 each, a great deal. Each weekday evening they also have a 3 for $35 deal with a choice of an appetizer, a main course, and a dessert for $35 - an outstanding value. Service is excellent.
This is a wonderful restaurant on the UT-Austin campus. It was difficult to find, we struggled with the parking garage and the signage, but ultimately found it - 30 minutes after our reservation time. The food was excellent and beautifully prepared. I would recommend this restaurant.
Lovely setting, excellent service and very good, well presented food. Valet parking. Online reservations. Special occasion dining.
This restaurant is outstanding. The waitstaff was knowledgeable and attentive. The food was delicious and excellent value for the quality.
Loved the wait staff just as much as the wonderful food!
The Carillon has a great, well trained staff, consistently fresh and creative cuisine, good vegetarian options, and great wine selections including high quality flights!
Really enjoyed the food. My steak was cooked to perfection and even made me want to taste the all the garnishing on my plate.
This is one of my favorite restaurants in Texas. The food is amazing. So many different flavors, all blended together perfectly. I am always excited to go and see what new meals they are serving.
Wonderful food and a wait staff to match. Any questions we had about the menu, our waitress was excellent at answering.
Everything about this restaurant was terrible. This restuarant totally ruined our valentine's day with awful and disgusting food. We were forced to get the three course meals because that was the only options they offered. However, the appetizers, main courses and desserts were nasty and over priced. A new york strip steak was too tough and it was completely covered with coffee grinds and big leaves. The sea bass was very fishy and did not taste good at all. Also the sea bass was completely covered by variety of vegetables that looked pathetic and burnt. We could not finish any of these dishes. It just seems like they were playing with foods. The dessert was the highlight of the three course meal because the cake was stiff, stale and the worst dessert i've ever had in my life. I felt like they hire anyone to be their waiters and waitresses. We certainly did not get the service that we deserved for $80 per person for 3 course meal. The foods were, again, absolutely disgusting, and we could not even eat half of the foods. Even though they gave us poor quality of meals and average service, they charged us mandatory 20% tip so we nearly paid over $100 per person. Their three course meal is extremely over priced and didn't worth every penny that they charged for. I would've had a way better quality food with this much money anywhere else. We wouldn't recommend this restaurant to any people unless they are my worst enemies.
Enjoyed our Valentine's Day dinner there. I had the steak, which was excellent, especially if you enjoy a coffee-sauce.
Great food in a very comfortable setting. It was also located close to our concert venue. The service was very good with the staff being nice and informative. My wife’s ribeye steak was wonderful. My halibut, while slightly over cooked, was still good as were all the sides. They have a 3 course menu that is reasonably priced that I would highly recommend. Overall we had a very good experience here celebrating my wife’s birthday and Valentines Day. We’ll be back.
A curate’s egg. The setting and ambience are fantastic. The food was excellent. The service dire and we were overcharged $70 for two meals we didn’t have.
The overcharge may have been a genuine mistake and they have promised to rectify it with a refund. But it was about 20-30 minutes before our order was taken and service was just very very slow even though there were few diners. They also omitted to tell us there was a three course for $35 offer. We had starter and main but skipped dessert mainly to avoid extending a very long meal with yet more waiting but if we had known about the offer and effectively free dessert we would maybe have decided otherwise. Nevertheless they still charged us for two offers on top of the al la carte choices we made. All of which is a great pity because the setting is fabulous, tables were well spaced so you could have a conversation without being overheard or competing against the volume of the next table. And the food really was excellent when it eventually arrived.
What a great experience.
We went here because we were looking for something close to Bass Concert Hall. We were so pleasantly surprised by the Carillon. The service was amazing, and the food was fantastic. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a nice evening out.
Disappointing. The service is really lacking; staff not well schooled on how to attend tables (its like a training school). The food is fair to good. The appetizer and entre was good but the desert was severely lacking. Every time I eat there, I feel that the restaurant is just an afterthought to the bigger events of the Conference Center. It a pleasant environment, a nice place to come for conversation. But, its got to do a better job or this will be the last time we visit.
My guest and I were pressed for time, so we took the buffet option for breakfast. The choices were poor. Food was poor quality -- some of the items in the hot section were cold. Everything tasted the same. The fruits in the cold section were not high quality. There were no cheeses and cold cuts.
Overall, I think this is a high priced restaurant with mediocre food.
