This casual, upscale restaurant offers innovative American cuisine including the freshest seafood from the Gulf of Mexico, Atlantic and Pacific, great steaks from Allen Brothers in Chicago, and regional and seasonal specialties. Daily lunch and dinner specials feature local ingredients whenever possible. The Heights burger can be paired with hand cut French fries, crispy thin onion rings, homemade lemon-pepper potato chips or German potato salad. There is an outdoor patio under a canopy of oak trees that's shady and extremely popular with locals and visitors to San Antonio. The brunch offered on Saturdays and Sundays features a menu of classic egg dishes, Texas pot roast, jumbo lump crab cake, seasonal "out of the blue" seafood entrees, entree salads, and Mustang chicken. Cappy's has an ever-changing, dynamic and well-priced wine list, with great choices by the glass or bottle. Full bar.

    The mussels were amazing. It was Saturday so I ordered the prime rib. Huge portion and I have enough to make two more meals. Husband enjoyed the pork chop. Will definitely come again. I'll bring my sister-in-law when she visits next month. Wine was a bit expensive though.

    We did not enjoy the chef’s special (over-fried soft-shell crab), but in typical yet singular style, Cappy’s servers hurried to accommodate us with a substitute dish of grilled shrimp and dessert gratis. That is the exemplary kind of service that makes Cappy’s such a successful and generally delicious restaurant! I’ve been coming to this place since it opened and will continue to! It’s a definite favorite!

    We had a great dinner at cappy’s because the food was good and the service was good! The seasonal burrata plate with Texas peaches was amazing!

    We arrived on time and were seated in a shady spot on the outdoor patio as we had requested. Our server Alicia was delightful, efficient, conversational, and attentive to our dining experience. She apologized, at one point, for the time it took for us to get our order, and said the kitchen would load us up when our order came out. We were each treated to a feast! Both of us received extra items added to our plates. We got a pile of hash browns and big bowls of fruit added to our order. The food was not only outstanding, but also beautifully presented. The manager came out to make sure we had been well-taken care of, and we assured him we had. Well, they were not done with us yet. To top off our experience, we were also sent home with a complimentary dessert! We highly recommend Cappy’s on Broadway.

    Had the roast duck, which was very tasty. My only complaint was it could have been hotter. Our guests had potato crusted halibut and prime rib, and they both loved their food. It was a pleasure to introduce them to Cappy's. It's one of our favorites.

    Thanks so much! Marc Anthony was one great waiter and the food was so very tasty. Curry soup out of this world. Salmon just right with lobster mashed potatoes. So good. Thank you!

    I’m finding that most restaurants survive a couple of years and then they Peter out because their novelty wears off, they become complacent, or they can’t maintain their consistency. NOT the case with Cappy’s! We have been going to Cappy’s since 2007, and they never fail to disappoint. There are always the staples on the menu…Mustang chicken, potato crusted halibut, coconut pie, etc., but they don’t go stale by introducing new items and twists and specials. Everything I’ve tried there has been delicious, and their prices are fair. My only complaint is the vibe is so energetic you often have to scream for conversation. Nice atmosphere that is suitable for casual or special occasion. Great drinks. We’ve traveled 3 1/2 hours each way many times just for dinner! The patio is lovely in good weather. Book it! You won’t regret it….except for the addiction you will form, and it may ruin other restaurants for you.
