This casual, upscale restaurant offers innovative American cuisine including the freshest seafood from the Gulf of Mexico, Atlantic and Pacific, great steaks from Allen Brothers in Chicago, and regional and seasonal specialties. Daily lunch and dinner specials feature local ingredients whenever possible. The Heights burger can be paired with hand cut French fries, crispy thin onion rings, homemade lemon-pepper potato chips or German potato salad. There is an outdoor patio under a canopy of oak trees that's shady and extremely popular with locals and visitors to San Antonio. The brunch offered on Saturdays and Sundays features a menu of classic egg dishes, Texas pot roast, jumbo lump crab cake, seasonal "out of the blue" seafood entrees, entree salads, and Mustang chicken. Cappy's has an ever-changing, dynamic and well-priced wine list, with great choices by the glass or bottle. Full bar.

    I had the special, Coconut Airline Chicken with greens bean. My friend had the Steak & Frittes. Everything was delicious and hot. We had the Sticky Toffee with ice cream and it melted in our mouths. Great service and always a wonderful experience.

    I made my reservation several days in advance. I was very specific about being seated by the window inside. There were only two in my party. When I arrived, early, the hostess took me to a two-top by the brick wall right where the wait staff comes in/out of the kitchen. I went back to the hostess stand and said I very specifically requested sitting by the window. This has been a problem everywhere I dine. I frequently dine out alone. Restaurants, regardless of their elegance, always try to stick me in a corner somewhere out of the way, usually by the kitchen, at a tiny table. I was surprised Cappy’s didn’t honor my request without me requesting it. The food was excellent and the waiter finally became more personable.

    Great service from the jump! Also one of the chef’s overheard us talking about the appetizers we were contemplating and brought it to us on the house since he thought it complemented the mussels and pate that we chose! It’s kind gestures like this that make for a unique experience. Even though this place is known for seafood, don’t sleep on the Mustang Chicken!
