Is it a restaurant or a bar?? VERY LOUD as everyone needed to yell over the background music.
Food was weak...great arugula salad and meatball antipasti; chicken Alfredo was heavy on very al dente pasta but thin on sauce and chicken, while flavorful was gnarly. Wine list was fair in quality
The girls at the front desk are extremely rude and make the entire night a hassle. They told us 400 people were ahead of us to get downstairs, but when people don’t show they don’t move people up on the list, therefore unable to provide an accurate wait time. When we asked for a time check, the one girl was extremely rude and wouldn’t give a straight answer, just said “you’ll receive a text IF you can down.” We have come before when the wait was 500+ and never had an issue getting downstairs by 11pm. The front desk girls continuously got ruder as the night went on if we asked for an update.
Never have to “settle” on a vegetarian option- they always have several! Always delicious and never disappointed in my meal
First time at Capo, will definitely be back. Just recommend it to a friend that has some guests coming into Boston this Friday night. Love the atmosphere. Julia and Chris our servers were outstanding. They were both super friendly and so knowledgeable about the menu. Now I want to try Lincoln, Loco and Fat Baby 👍😊
Steve is the man!!
The place is beautiful. Our waiter was horrible. He had to "find me" an unsweetened iced tea which took about 20 minutes while everyone else at my table had their cocktails. I asked for a straw when it came, he never brought one (a nice bus boy did).
I ordered the Brick Chicken which was very slimy I and actually got sick in the middle of the night. I asked the waited for a sharp knife to cut the chicken, again, he never brought me one. The roasted cauliflower was absolutely delicious.
Our waiter is the main reason why we will not be back. He could have been bothered with us, never smiled, never brought the two things that I had asked for (I was not rude about it at all). You can tell he was just not into waiting on us, we all got the same vibe.
Not sure what happened with the Chicken. I can't say if that is why I got sick but it just didn't seem like it was really cooked through. My husband wouldn't even try it and he loves chicken.
Food was cold upon arrival. Servers did not have the common sense to supply syrup or ketchup for the orders they delivered (many of which were cold). When the coffee first arrived, there was a container of sugar (which had caked on ketchup -seriously -does no one notice when they are dirty?) at one end of an 11 person table. No awareness by servers to check this. When a coffee refill arrived, I thought, great, they are aware, but the refill was cold -come on!! Also, they were out of cream (just had milk) and wheat bread. On a Saturday morning, whomever orders supplies could not guess you would need these items - or had the initiative to go to the grocery store and get them? The place was EMPTY. It would not have been a hardship. But now I know why it was empty.
On the plus side, I have heard this is a good bar (not great because there is apparently one long time bartender who is -not friendly- we'll say) and dinner spot. I came for dinner long ago and only remember a good time. I will come again at dinner time, never breakfast though.
Delicious place to spend Thanksgiving!
Thanksgiving dinner was great. Great food and service
The staff was nice and very attentive to our table. The food came out quickly and was delicious.
We went to capo for their ‘friendsgiving’ and we couldn’t believe the value for money we got! It was 20 dollars per person for a full share style turkey dinner and a slice of pie. The meal was exquisite- i don’t know what part of it I liked most or least it was all so delicious! The festive buzz was also really enjoyable! We loved it so much we have booked another date night there for December!
Went for the family style thanksgiving lunch. The stuffing was good but everything else was just so-so. The pasta is amazing here and I wish I got that instead.
We came for Friendsgiving and had a great time! The food and cocktails were tasty, our waiter was friendly and attentive, and we loved the photo booth. Thanks for a great holiday meal.
The wait to go downstairs is horrible. Got there at 8pm and never made it down.
Delicious food lively atmosphere incrediable waitress Chevon.Only problem parking situation
Great location, great service, and great food! Would certainly come back.
We went for brunch and it was awesome! The food and drinks were delicious. Highly recommend
Always a great time. Met new manager. Service was top notch. Food great. Wish they’d put monkfish back on menu but halibut was next best thing. Love the fireplace on chilly night. Great vibe. Fun atmosphere.
We went for brunch on a recent Sunday during a Pats game. Our server was awesome and the food was creative and very satisfying. The restaurant was packed due to the game so the noise level was off the charts, but it was still a fun and energetic place to be.
great place for a family brunch. arrived at 10 AM on sunday for brunch (they open at 10). the front door was locked, but another patron that was waiting inside let us in. i let the hostess know we were there, but it took a few minutes for them to seat us, as it appeared they weren't ready for service yet. when i went to sit down, my seat had a puddle of water in it (i'm guessing from someone wiping down the chairs before service?), so i let the hostess know. they were very apologetic and offered to provide dry cleaning or anything (not necessary, but grateful for the gesture). they then brought my family a few of their specialty donuts, which were delicious. i won't say the donuts were worth sitting in a puddle on my chair, but i really appreciated the gesture and quite enjoyed them. i had the scrambled eggs dish for brunch, as did my mother in law. the dish was okay, not great. my husband had the hash dish with sweet potatoes (as did my sister in law) - yummy. my niece had the tiramisu pancakes, which i didn't try, but they looked delicious and my niece and those that tried them enjoyed. my father in law had the breakfast pizza, which he really liked. overall a nice experience, even though it started a little shaky. loved the roaring fire and the open kitchen. look forward to going back.
The food and decor very good.
The place is extremely noisy however, because of the high ceiling. Our ears hurt!
The service was not good. We missed dessert because they forgot to let us know that the kitchen would close by the time we would have finished dinner .
Friendly, lively and busy Italian restaurant in South Boston. Above average food and good sized portions (not huge but enough to take home). Although bone in veal cacciatore wasn't on the menu, we inquired and were delighted to be accommodated. The veal was generous in size and cooked nicely. The eggplant parm was laden with thin and very crisp slices of eggplant--some people might find the eggplant 'too fried' while others would appreciate the crispiness vs. thick, soft (mushy) eggplant parm. It was a little too fried for me--but great sauce. Others at the table had pasta which was above average but not exceptional. The arugula salad was amazing--very simple but the lemon dressing and fresh parm made it a great accompaniment to the heavier food. The waitstaff was stretched a little thin given the crowd and coordination between the host station and the servers could have been improved (the waiter thought he could accommodate our request for a different table but the hostess overruled him halfway during the switch). Overall it was a fun night--and we would return.
Amazing food! Our server Siobahn was so welcoming and recommended certain dishes to try. Would absolutely try again. Great food and service.
We had a great meal and drinks
It was amazing I’ve always loved the food there. Bottomless Wednesday’s are awesome.
Server was pretty bad but the food and company made up for it.
Everything was absolutely delicious from drinks, to apps to main courses and fun desserts. LOVED IT
absolutely love the food and restaurant - noise level very high though.
Wow! What an experience. Server was fantastic! Great recommendations, and food came out impeccably fast. We’ll definitely be back!
Had planned a date night with my husband. Made the trek all the way out to the edge of West Broadway about a 20 minute walk from the nearest T stop, and discovered the restaurant refused to honor our reservation, worse yet could only offer uncomfortable and noisy 'seats at the bar'. Unforgivable. We were forced to turn around and travel all the way home.
Amazing meal! Great food, service, atmosphere and experience. Will definitely be back.
Food was luke warm and there is little to absorb noise given the size of the room and number people in the room.
Been meaning to try Capo for a while - was not disappointed!! Yes, it was pretty loud, but it's a large and popular restaurant that turns into a club/bar late night, so to be expected. They had just released the fall menu items the day we went, and we tried a fair few of them.
Fall Sangria - delicious. didn't even ask what was in it, could've had a pitcher to myself.
Butternut Squash ravioli - delicious. Great complimenting flavors, truffles, sauce, yum.
Fall Salted Caramel Parfait Dessert - amazing. salted caramel, gingerbread cake, gelato and some other great tasting crunchy bites - would recommend to a friend at any time, but especially appropriate for fall!
wait staff was super friendly and helpful, gave great recommendations.
casual vibe with great food - definitely will return!!
Loved the fun atmosphere and the great friendly service. We sat the bar for while and had appetizers and drinks. Bartender was very nice and helpful with the menu. We later sat down at a table and our waitress was extremely pleasant.
Had a girls night dinner. Food was excellent and the wine (house tap) was good too. We went downstairs for music and cocktails after.
Best Veal Parm I've ever tasted. Italian restaurant with an amazing red sauce. Flat breads were delish also.
Great authentic food, wide and creative variety. Good ambience and great quality . Would definitely recommend.
We are loyal regulars to our "neighborhood" gem...Food is excellent as is the service ...though we avoid weekend evenings ...too noisy for us.
The restaurant itself was delicious! The food exceptional, the service great, the drinks were delicious!
Great food, okay service and be prepared for the noise! Very overwhelming when you first walk in.
