Went here for the first time a few days ago for our anniversary. Loved it.
We sat in the back dining area which is a little nicer and a little quieter than the front. But the whole restaurant has a great look and a great vibe. The back area has an open kitchen, lots of brick and wood, and a vibe a little like Fore Street in Portland if that were an Italian restaurant. :)
The hostesses were all extremely friendly and helpful. Our server (never got his name) was outstanding. Knowledgeable, friendly, attentive but never hovering.
We started with appetizers of meatballs and prosciutto covered figs. Could not have been better. I can still taste both of them now.
My wife had scallops with risotto; I had the veal marsala. Really well prepared and just plain delicious.
We finished with gelato from the cart they have at the front of the restaurant.
We loved every aspect of our evening. Perhaps the one overall description I would have for this place is extremely well run. I am no restaurant expert but this place just seemed to hum with an incredible efficiency. People constantly in motion serving food, taking orders, cooking meals.
I can't wait to go back.
AMAZING!!!!! It is everything you want. Love this place and will always be a go to.
Straight up my best restaurant experience ever.
Food and service was great at Capo. Loved my ravioli... best I’ve had in awhile and my hubby enjoyed his chicken parm!
Capo food is fantastic and the decor and was very nice. Our server Megan was outstanding and we plan on visiting again soon. The meatball appetizer was one of the best I have ever had. We also took home some of their gelato that was also excellent.
Capo is a great neighborhood spot, and the food is always great!
We love capo. We are regulars and often visit on Saturday evenings.
The food is great - wonderful staples and a nice selection of weekly specials.
The staff is very attentive and is very forgiving of our active 18 month old who loves to tour the front and back of the house..
(Jr’s favorite is the arancini carbonara... and i love the pork shank)
I have previously been to Capo on several occasions and have had great experiences, but my veal dish this time was terrible. On previous occasions I had this same dish and it was better.
The food was a perfect Italian experience! The menu’s description was exactly present on the plate ; even more!
The wait staff was very attentive. The food was good for the price. The ambiance was lively, but not overwhelming.
we had a great time at Capo on Saturday night. Service was excellent and the food was great. Very accomodating restuarant to our requests
Great food and specials were superb. Our waitress Meghan was awesome. She had great energy and really sold us on the specials. The king salmon is superb. The burrata and peaches salad was great. I split the half size portion of the lobster gnocchi and sausage cavatelli. All that and gelato to boot.
Capo management please give a gold star to Meghan! She's one of your best.
The food at Capo is excellent, the servers are very nice and helpful, and they're terrific at accommodating and being knowledgeable about allergies.
However, it's become a pain to dine there. If you walk in without a reservation, even if it's Tuesday night and the restaurant is 2/3rds empty, they make it seem like a giant imposition to seat you and cram you in a corner somewhere. Last week, in that very scenario but WITH a reservation, we were seated in the loudest, most cramped/uncomfortable section, and when we asked to move we were told no other tables were available. By the time we left, the restaurant had gone from 1/3 full to maybe 1/2 full at best. With so many great restaurants in Southie now, the food at Capo is almost not worth dealing with the rude hostesses....there are plenty of places that actually WANT your business!
Special occasion - had dinner with my daughter. It was a very nice time. The food was delicious!!! Service was spectacular!!!!
Never a bad meal at capo. Always amazing food and atmosphere. It’s my favorite restaurant in Southie
Great food, reeeeeally loud though! Service was strong- waitress very attentive.
We love this restaurant - food, staff, (service & professional ) and the atmosphere — the only issue for us as a couple of a certain age is the noise level esp on Fri & Sat nights - so we tend to avoid taking friends there on weekend evenings — we also find it romantic on weekday eves - there are cozy corner tables — we are big CAPO fans!
Love coming to Capo for date night - great food & great environment!
Was amazing! Our server was great! Perfect atmosphere, food, & drink! We will be back:)
Great experience. Good food and phenomenal service
Food was amazing, server was knowledgeable and friendly, drinks were delicious and the decor and atmosphere was outstanding. Will definitely be back!
Food and ambiance are great and the supper club downstairs is fun! Didn’t have a great experience with our sever and the espresso martinis were horrible.
Fabulous as always
In Boston looking for great Italian food? Skip the North End and the tourist traps and head to Southie for a gem. Capo is wide open, beautifully appointed with great, creative Italian food.
I just don’t understand why every restaurant in South Boston has to be so LOUD!
So good! The food was spectacular.
The food was excellent and service was impeccable. We will keep this one on our list for the future.
The service at a Capo continues to shine. W took our friends and their 2 children to Capo for an early Saturday dinner, and they went out of their way to accommodate every single special request - from seating to splitting entrees. The server did not blink twice to any of the myriad of requests we had, and the manager Kevin was on top of everything with us, including a wine recommendation. We are regulars here because of the service and the food. It is hands down our favorite place to be and to dine in Southie.
The tiramisu pancakes are literally THE BEST pancakes in the city. Would definitely go back for them. Service was excellent too. (Thanks jessica E)!! Very enjoyable overall
Great food, great service and wonderful music at the downstairs venue!
Took my fiancé out for his birthday calamari appetizer was one of the best we ever had got a pitcher of red sangria very good and dinner was perfect can’t wait to go back
Excellent as always
a little loud even for a Sunday. service was very attentive. Great gravy/sauce Suggest egglpant needs to be cooked a bit more at is was not cooked all the way through. Chicken parm and meatballs were great would go back again
Downstairs super room was great. Felt like a night club. Alex MacDougall was incredible doing Sinatra.
Everything was great! Food, service, ambiance. I already made another reservation for when I have family visiting.
Wonderful place to go with little kids or no kids.
Great recommendation from my daughters boyfriend who lives in Boston. Food and service were amazing. Ambiance was perfect for celebrating my daughter's graduation from college. Will definitely visit again the next time we visit.
It was a Wednesday night towards the end of the night. We enjoyed sitting by the open windows. The service was great. The food was pretty good. The bartender was super nice. If we lived here, we'd definitely come back.
All the restaurants along Broadway, in Southie, were great. Capo, Lola’s and Lincoln were excellent diners and the beer selections were superb. Highly recommend.
