Love the wine on tap and pasta dishes. Enjoy sharing different pasta dishes, appetizers and salads (italian chop is a favorite). The restaurant is really, really loud and while it adds to the ambiance, it can be hard to hear. You used to be able to go downstairs to the speakeasy with a reservation in the dining room, but that is no longer an option. As the restaurant becomes more popular, it's turning more into a "Southie establishment" and attracting a "yuppie" crowd.
Capo was amazing! They kindly accommodated a dairy-free customer, which is difficult at an Italian restaurant. I will definitely come again! Also a great idea to eat here before venturing downstairs to the Supper Club.
Very good. Service was excellent.
most noise toxic restaurant in all the world....and the smoke form the wood burning oven backs up into the restaurant and bathrooms, so if you don't mind eating in a concert level of noise and lung inflammation, go for it....because the food is very good
Excellent food and cocktails! The brunch specials were fantastic!
Great restaurant. Amazing food. The crowd however was off putting as it was a much younger, loud, under dressed crowd. When paying in the 300$ range for a dinner for 4, I wasn’t excited about the fact that the bros were high fiving and drunk 20 year old girls in jeans were puking in the bathroom at 830pm.
The food was good, well seasoned Italian fare. The noise level was excruciatingly loud. We had to literally scream to hear each other; it was painful.
Food was unreal - really hit the spot
They marked up a menu to be GF, Df, corn, canola and soy free. So sweet!
This is rare--a 5-star value. Capo is an excellent dining choice with reasonable prices especially on Wed when pasta is all you can eat. The cauliflower appetizer was tasty, different and ample. The house red wine, a blend of mostly sangiovese, was very good. Tiramisu terrific! Dining in Boston is affordable and enjoyable.
Delicious food, and great ambiance--however, WAYYYY too loud, and the waiters did not seem to know what was in the dishes (such that multiple mistakes were made in explaining some of the Italian ingredients.)
Great place to eat and fun atmosphere! Would recommend for a fun night out but if your looking to have dinner conversation you will have to yell.
I found the whole evening very good as well as the food. Our server was great and right on top of are needs at all times.
Nice place, but so noisy ! Better for a drink with friends than for a quietfull diner.
Had a great meal at Capo. We were treated to a starter of tomatoes wrapped in prosciutto and then a charcuterie board. All guests greatly enjoyed their meals. I had the Branzino which was cooked perfectly and frankly was spectacularly seasoned, but the heirloom tomato salad it was on was far too herbal. The scallops with the risotto were also to die for. Would highly recommend.
We recently dined at Capo for our first night out since having our baby and yes he joined us, lol. The server and staff went ABOVE & BEYOND to make sure our night out was one to remember & that is was! An adorable little onesie that said “mini meatball” was gifted to us and everyone in the restaurant was so attentive to our needs. We can’t thank the team enough for making us feel so special! Our best date night yet (even before our baby)!
Capo’s bottomless pasta night is awesome! Such a fun spot for dinner
We were visiting my husbands son and his wife in Boston from Colorado and wanted to treat them to a nice dinner out. Capo had great reviews and we decided to give it a try. We were not disappointed. The service was great and the boulanase was the best I've ever had! All of us enjoyed our meals very much and the pino noir we had was exceptional. Thanks to the wonderful staff at Capo for such a memorable experience!
Hands down some of the best food I’ve had in Boston! When you get to Capo, you are greeted at the door and let in properly. There were many attendants waiting to seat us as well. We sat in the back near the wood ovens which all night smelled so great! I had the Lobster Gnocchi which was packed with fresh lobster! The gnocchi was prepared perfectly and not heavy at all. If you like brussel sprouts, get them as an appetizer. You’ll thank me later. Be prepared for a slightly higher noise level than normal—I attribute this to many big parties of people. Definitely will be back again when I visit Boston!
We live in southie and go here once a month and I was disappointed in the service and the food. Our waiter didn’t not check in on us once after we received our drinks and food, just to give us the bill. Two of us ended up getting the Chicken Parm and the chicken and was chewy and tastes like it had been frozen for too long. First time I’ve had a bad meal and bad service..
Fabulous Italian cuisine, service & atmosphere! We will frequent this gem for sure!
Outstanding. Highly recommended.
Very nice meal and great service.
The airco was at causing it to freeze in the restaurant. The noise is extreme which is spoiling the evening. The food was good!
Always love Capo. It’s my fiance and mines favorite spot in Southie. We had a long wait for one of the dishes to be brought out. Nothing that we were upset about and they voluntarily brought us free gelato vouchers. Great experience as always!
great restaurant, food is amazing, and i love the vibe of the place. My daughters live in Southie and go all the time. Will definitely go again!!
I had heard many great things about Capo and I wasn't disappointed. In fact had a great evening. Service was perfect. Had read a few comments about Laura and she was as porfessional and agreeable as previous diners noted. Martini was perfect and wine wonderful, Had the Veal Milanese, best in a long time. Others had Tuna and were more than happy. Great night!
Staff, food, and atmosphere for all great. Zach was very attentive as were other staff that passed by and offered assist along the way. Braised beef ravioli was delicious. Pizza was delicious. Cannolis were perfectly crunchy and not too sweet. The gelato was smooth and creamy. Refills were timely. We could not of asked for anything extra.
Went here for the first time a few days ago for our anniversary. Loved it.
We sat in the back dining area which is a little nicer and a little quieter than the front. But the whole restaurant has a great look and a great vibe. The back area has an open kitchen, lots of brick and wood, and a vibe a little like Fore Street in Portland if that were an Italian restaurant. :)
The hostesses were all extremely friendly and helpful. Our server (never got his name) was outstanding. Knowledgeable, friendly, attentive but never hovering.
We started with appetizers of meatballs and prosciutto covered figs. Could not have been better. I can still taste both of them now.
My wife had scallops with risotto; I had the veal marsala. Really well prepared and just plain delicious.
We finished with gelato from the cart they have at the front of the restaurant.
We loved every aspect of our evening. Perhaps the one overall description I would have for this place is extremely well run. I am no restaurant expert but this place just seemed to hum with an incredible efficiency. People constantly in motion serving food, taking orders, cooking meals.
I can't wait to go back.
AMAZING!!!!! It is everything you want. Love this place and will always be a go to.
Straight up my best restaurant experience ever.
Food and service was great at Capo. Loved my ravioli... best I’ve had in awhile and my hubby enjoyed his chicken parm!
Capo food is fantastic and the decor and was very nice. Our server Megan was outstanding and we plan on visiting again soon. The meatball appetizer was one of the best I have ever had. We also took home some of their gelato that was also excellent.
Capo is a great neighborhood spot, and the food is always great!
We love capo. We are regulars and often visit on Saturday evenings.
The food is great - wonderful staples and a nice selection of weekly specials.
The staff is very attentive and is very forgiving of our active 18 month old who loves to tour the front and back of the house..
(Jr’s favorite is the arancini carbonara... and i love the pork shank)
I have previously been to Capo on several occasions and have had great experiences, but my veal dish this time was terrible. On previous occasions I had this same dish and it was better.
The food was a perfect Italian experience! The menu’s description was exactly present on the plate ; even more!
The wait staff was very attentive. The food was good for the price. The ambiance was lively, but not overwhelming.
we had a great time at Capo on Saturday night. Service was excellent and the food was great. Very accomodating restuarant to our requests
