So fun and fancy! The service was impeccable and the atmosphere was incredible being in such a beautiful lobby. I now have an affinity for tea time!
The tea sandwiches were stale and the herbal tea was weakly brewed. Scones were tough and did not resemble an authentic British scone in the slightest. The ambiance is what your here for and that’s going to cost you. We would go back but with lowered expectations next time.
Not much of a menu. Waiter walked by the table several times and did not offer to refill our drinks.
We so enjoyed High Tea at the Hermitage. I'd forgotten how beautiful the hotel was inside. It's like architecture in European countries. Just beautiful. Everything was elegant. Service was fantastic. Food was very good and presentation was beautiful. We stayed later to listen to Debbie Watts play the piano in the lobby. If you get a chance, go listen to her. She's amazing. I could have sat or hours to listen.
Everything was so lovely. All the entrees were fantastic. My MIL said that the burger was the best she’s ever had in her life!
Really disappointing --
The food and service were mediocre. My 10 year old daughter and I were seated at a table that was near another where they were serving people from the bar. Very disappointing!!
Enjoyed a most beautiful , romantic tea at The Hermitage Hotel with my husband during our recent visit to Nashville. The hotel is gorgeous ! ....,. architecture, decor and tea service was wonderful. Highly recommend !
Was a beautifully elegant hotel with excellwnt service and ambience.
Restaurant under renovation but was not informed before arriving. Limited menu with zero imagination and no specials. Some of the side dishes were undercooked and not edible. This is not the Capitol Grille we're used to. Stay away!
Great beautiful atmosphere with historical design. Good food except for one side which was refunded. Jack Daniels chocolate dessert fantastic.
The restaurant was closed for remodeling and operating through the hotel. Which wasn't a big deal but would have been good to know before we made the reservation. It may have changed our decision. There were only five meal options to choose form. We had to ask multiple times for items we needed. Got a dessert we didn't order, and didn't have the protein in our meals we asked for. Overall, it wasn't terrible but not the service we are used to when dining at Capital Grille. We would not go back in this location.
The hostess was not pleasant or helpful. Wish we would have know the regular restaurant was closed when booking. Menu was limited and atmosphere was not fun.
Very good service, they will ask if you have dietary preferences beforehand so that was never an isssue. Would recommend
The views are magnificent. Hotel is beautiful. Staff is amazing and provides fantastic service. Afternoon tea is wonderful. Menus have variety for both lunch and dinner.
It was great
During the remodel, the superb staff continues to impress. From the Chefs to the wait-staff to the bartender, the crew at the Capitol Grill carry on a 5-star experience. I am looking forward to visiting the freshened restaurant upon its completion.
We were staying overnight at the Hermitage and thought this restaurant was part of the Capital Grille chain. Sadly it is not. The restaurant is under renovation until this Fall. So the restaurant is up in the veranda over the lobby. Not the worst thing, but not as private. The menu is very limited and pricey. We ordered a cheeseburger with roasted Brussels sprouts. The burger was thin and tasteless and the Brussels sprouts were severely over cooked. Crunchy. I ordered the brisket with mashed potatoes and carrots. Brisket was okay and potatoes swimming in gravy. Overall okay, but not great.
I would not eat at this restaurant again. Many nicer restaurants in town.
wasn't notified that restaurant was under renovation with limited warranty. Service was in the hotel. We promptly canceled our reservation and went somewhere else.
Salad was horrible very little dressing. Filet came out with no garnish and one small tomato. Fries were served in a small bowl and tasted like supermarket fries.
Sadly, this was the WORST hotel restaurant we have even eating in, and the food was embarrassingly awful. Overpriced, over-cooked, and served with warm, white wine! (On our anniversary, no less!) I was simply shocked by the lack of quality and found it hard to believe that such a lovely venue would serve such garbage to its customers. Many, like my wife and I, were paying close to $1,000 per night for a room, and we expected to be served some fine cuisine. Wishful thinking! And by the way, our "complimentary" breakfast was also terrible. I hope they get their act together, because this is a lovely old venue.
Beautiful ambiance and excellent service! The champagne, tea, and desserts were delicious. The finger sandwiches were dry and not appealing. There should be more options for the price point. Do not expect this to be the same as high tea in London.
As usual, The Capitol Grille delivered all our expectations for my husband’s and our son-in-law’s Father’s Day brunch.
The food was wonderful, the setting was serene and upscale and our server was amazing!
The Hermitage Hotel is such a nice gem to be discovered in Nashville.
It was a lovely experience. The server was attentive, the food perfect. We did not feel rushed which was nice, so many places seem to rush you through your meals. The ambiance was wonderful! Would recommend.
Twas beautiful & satisfying. A great calm evening out to celebrate birthday.
When making the reservation I was not informed that the capitol grille no longer exists. I have eaten there many times and the food has always been excellent. Yesterday the food was some of the worst I have ever eaten period. Also not informed that you have tea in the afternoon and felt rushed to leave as it was being set up all around us. The only good thing about yesterday was our server was excellent. It was my 66 birthday so unhappy birthday to me
We had a great experience at Hermitage for afternoon tea yesterday! Our waiter, Tommy, was fabulous and very attentive!
Everything was wonderful. Our server Tommy was exceptional & went above & beyond. My guest & I really enjoyed every aspect of our experience! Will definitely be back.
A wonderful tea! I do wish the food was a bit fresher. In order to prepare for the 2pm seating it is clear food was prepped earlier in the day.
The restaurant and bar are being renovated but that information was not on the hotel website. We arrived at the restaurant early and wanted to order a cocktail before dinner. That's when we learned the bar downstairs was closed and was replaced by a very busy temporary free-standing bar on the main floor. We had to queue up for a drink, they were unable to serve guests at their seats. When we were being escorted to our table for dinner, that's when we learned that the restaurant was also closed so we were taken up the stairs to the atrium and mezzanine lobby. Both are fine for breakfast but for upscale dining? We were seated at a table that was steps above the entrance and reservation desk. The menu was extremely limited so we decided to select three appetizers. The charcuterie 'board' was served on a white dinner plate. It was $26 and lackluster. The entire dining experience was underwhelming with the exception of the waitstaff who were wonderful. Renovations to this lovely hotel are understandable; but the lack of transparency and high prices are not acceptable. Had the website explained the temporary closing, we would certainly have made a different dining choice.
Great food, great service, and great atmosphere. Waiter was excellent.
We visit several capital grills in Providence, Chicago and Naples Fl. We had a gift certificate for Capital grill in Nashville. However after dining we find they could not accept the certificate because they are not the capital grill we dine at. Their Capital is spelled with an O (capitol) instead of an A and are not part of the Capital grill chain. I think they are false advertising and should change their name. Their menu is very limited compared to our restaurant. That being said, the service and food was excellent and the hotel the restaurant is located in was absolutely beautiful. We would not have spent 200.00 if we had known we could not use our gift certificate.
If you stay here, do not eat here. It could not have been worse. Limited menu, over priced, over cooked. Very disappointed.
Went to enjoy Afternoon Tea with my mother. However, was a little disappointed by the food and limited tea selection. The scones were cold and the finger sandwiches were slightly stale. Given that their price point is similar to the Plaza Hotel, I had hoped for a better experience.
Attentive staff, attention to detail, delicious food, would definitely go again.
Had a lovely afternoon at high tea! Would definitely recommend for a special occasion.
Our favorite place to eat in Nashville.
What a wonderful tea experience! Everything was just perfect!! The food, the comfortable seating, the ambiance, the attentive servers, all contributed to a very relaxing time. Also, they brewed the tea correctly by not leaving the tea leaves in the teapot. WELL DONE HERMITAGE HOTEL!! Thank you!😀
The ambience of the hotel was great. The wait staff was wonderful. The food was very good. I think the only improvement could be the amount of time it took to get the meal. We waited for almost an hour and it was a little long especially having three small children. They were very tired by the time we finally got the meal. We enjoyed eating in the lobby area it was beautiful and we look forward to the new restaurant
Capital Grille is closed For renovations, our reservation ended up for the hotel café. Our party of eight, not one person came close to finishing food served. Please inform customers making reservations that the capital Grille is actually closed.
