Celebrated a belated Mother’s Day. It was a lovely time.
We had high expectations for our dining experience. We learned after we sat for dinner that this location is not affiliated with the Capital Grill chain. The restaurant was going through a remodeling and the menu was very limited. Our waiter was professional, however the meals were sub par both in taste and temperature. Perhaps when the modeling is completed they will do better.
Good food in a lovely setting with excellent service.
Beautiful hotel but the renovation means no capital bar and. No viewing the famous restroom
Horrible…. An hour late on being seated…. Wait staff was totally understaffed…. Poor experience in a beautiful place! Not at all what we were expecting from a capital grille.
Currently serving on the “veranda” if you get seated on the veranda, if not you are basically sitting in the lobby. There appeared to be one server and she was doing the best she could but we spent large amounts of time with no drinks, etc. I almost just walked down to the lobby bar. Food was good but overall underwhelming experience especially considering proximity to restaurants.
The food was good. T waiter was excellent. The hostess was wonderful. There was a rehearsal dinner going on at the same time. It took 2 hours for our food to arrive. The staff was very nice. The kitchen must be under staffed
The staff was very accommodating despite the construction that was going on. The Capitol Grille is gorgeous, the service was wonderful and the food was great.
The food was great and I am assuming the small menu was due to Covid. It was odd that Prime Rib was ala carte but the steak was delicious. The coconut cake was unbelievably good.
The service was impeccable from start to finish. We did the Afternoon Tea service. We had a beautiful table by the window. The food was good especially the Salmon sandwiches. The tea was yummy I had the Chai and the presentation was stunning. It didn’t feel like Nashville anymore! Super fun and worth the $$.
The ambiance and stature of Capitol Grille is definitely what make this place outstanding in most people's minds. I was excited to go! But the flavor of their food, as well as their offerings, felt only mediocre at best. We were there for brunch, and my $18 slice of avocado toast was the most flavorless I've ever had. I also had the Baby Gem salad with chicken. And while the salad was nice, there was nothing special about it. The chicken had slight flavor, but was, again, mediocre. One of my companions had the poached eggs, which he raved about, and the other had the shrimp and grits, which he termed "fine". With all of the unique fare offered these days, bursting with flavors both unique and traditional, the Capitol Grille was a colossal letdown for us. Other than the feel of an opulent, old restaurant and hotel, the food offerings just felt mundane, lacking in creativity, and completely lacking in flavor.
Very nice environment, definitely book again. French toast was delicious with my coffee. Husband had eggs Benedict and it was fantastic too.
Afternoon tea at the Hermitage Hotel was delightful! This was the perfect Mother's Day celebration experience.
College graduation dinner. And although I was originally worried the tables were not in the restaurant because of the remodeling, we actually loved the location on the veranda. Beautiful views and architecture. The fillet’s we had were amazing. Good selection of bourbons and whiskey.
Absolutely LOVED our high tea service at the Hermitage. Beautiful hotel, wonderful food, and incredible service. I can't wait to come back and I hope they make this a permanent staple at the Hermitage!
When making the reservation through Open Table, I was under the impression it was for the original location for Capital Grill rather than the Hermitage Hotel due to the current renovations. I was not aware of the renovations until arriving at the hotel and specifically asking the server.
Great food, ambience, quiet and great service!!!! We will go back!
Food was excellent. The service superb. The seating was fabulous.
Exceptional service and a great place for a lunch meeting - thank you
We had a lovely afternoon tea time! Food was great, setting was beautiful, staff was kind. My only “complaint” is that there were some charges that weren’t clear. An 18% service charge. And they charged $8 for water. For $75/pp, you’d think the water would be included. And I didn’t really understand the service charge, as the gratuity is not included. Other than that, we enjoyed ourselves!
Everything was good, but I look forward to going back when the restaurant/bar renovation is complete in August.
Food was terrible. Great service from staff, beautiful setting
Excellent location for that special occasion, romantic evening. The service, food and ambiance was incredible!
I highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys fine dining in a great location.
The actual restaurant is closed for fives months undergoing a renovation. Limited menu and service. Told they will have new chef when restaurant reopens. Best you wait for reopening.
The service was excellent; and the bar tender was outstanding!
The food was absolutely amazing. I got the salmon which was cooked perfectly. The sweet potato purée was equally as impressive as the whipped potatoes. The steaks could also be cut with a butter knife. I will likely always make a stop anytime I’m in the area. Don’t forget to get the stuffed olives for your martinis.
Gorgeous venue, best in Nashville. The service, the food, and just everything about this brunch was perfect.
Try the Brussel Sprouts appetizers. It is amazing. Service was exceptional. Food was great. You will not be disappointed
Menu wasn't impressive at all, perhaps Covid has caused a reduction. Jeff the server was helpful and pleasant.
I remember when capital a grille was an experience I wanted to treat my family to. Unfortunately it’s high cost, bad service and really bad food. Too bad, I guess it’s time for a new family tradition.
We have historically always enjoyed Easter brunch at the Capitol Grille at Hermitage Hotel. However, today we were taken aback over the offerings on the menu and the cost. Eggs Benedict weren’t even offered. Who offers an Easter brunch with no option for Eggs Benedict? We asked to order off the menu and were informed that was not an option. The set menu was 3 courses: choice of salad, choice of entree and choice of dessert. Of the 3 dessert choices, none were chocolate, so my husband passed on dessert. Coffee was not offered, albeit a glass of champagne and a glass of water was included. For two people, today’s Easter “brunch” was $235.00 which was way over-priced. Unfortunately we will book elsewhere for Easter brunch in the future.
Our experience was great. The restaurant is being renovated and so we were seated in an atrium that overlooks the downtown street in front of the hotel. Ceilings were high and decorated elaborately. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. The food was delicious. We recommend the chorizo stuffed dates. Southern fare at its finest.
Beautiful upper veranda area with a view of the city. The food was OK, but the menu could use an upgrade. The restaurant staff was fantastic.
Ron was great with service and the food was fabulous!
The menu was much smaller than what was on the website. They had run out of bread which was listed on the menu and Parmesan for the fries. The corn bread was cold. The quality of the food was just ok. We were disappointed. The service was great. From the hostess to the servers, very nice and attentive and very apologetic for their missing items. They have us a very nice touch for my wife’s birthday.
Lovely staff and excellent wine and food preparation. We are both breakfast and dinner at the hotel, and both were fantastic. Best omelet!
Wonderful food and service. Could improve wine list with more French and Italian choices.
Excellent. There isn’t another word to describe it.
Service was beyond slow, food was cold and not cooked to the specification
we had a Valentines dinner planned. Up until a couple days ahead of time I was not aware that the restaurant was being renovated. Tables were out in the atrium area. Overall the service was very good despite the uniqueness of the layout. It would’ve been nice to know that the kitchen and restaurant are being renovated prior to making a reservation. The staff did the best they could to make it a nice experience. The food was very good and at the end of the day and enjoyable night
