Cap City Fine Diner & Bar - Grandview
We go to Cap City about 4 times a year. It is usually an above average experience. Today was not. We did use open table and got seated right away. That was the positive. Not sure if our waiter was new or just inattentive. Food was average, but my husband did not feel well the rest of the day after eating the hash (we went for brunch).
Had a family reunion with my brothers sister. Everything was perfect. Food and service always outstanding. Thanks so much!
Everything was great but my only recommendation is to make the booths a little larger...I am a 240lb man and I could barely fit and barely breathe while I ate... Yes I know I could have asked for a table but I have never had this issue and I was on a first date as well lol
This was my first time at Cap City and I had an awesome experience. The service was spot on. The food was excellent. Being able to make a reservation made it even more enjoyable as we did not have to worry about being late for the show we were attending afterwards.
Food as always was delicious. Service was very good.
Always a delight! We love pot roast Thursday’s!
The food is consistently good. A lot of food makes it worth the price. Same room for great BIG desserts . Service is always attentive. Good place for families, dates and groups. Can get loud & crowded. Reservations recommended.
Dylan our server was skilled and attentive.
Food tasty, served to our expectations.
We came in at 11:30 and were seated at a great table for six with enough space around us to set our gifts. Mark was our server and we enjoyed chatting with him. He gave us plenty of time to make decisions about what we wanted for lunch. We were not rushed so felt comfortable staying to visit and exchange gifts. We all enjoyed the food and the service.
Food came out quickly and was very good. Server was excellent and very attentive to our needs.
Good food and service every time!
Always head to Cap City Diner with out of town guests who have sampled Cap City previously and loved it! Cap City never disappoints! Always good!
We specifically went to Cap City because we knew they have gluten free options. Listen up GF peeps: they have a separate GF fryer, they have GF rolls and our waiter made sure he knew each one of our names along with our dietary needs. Best of all: everything was delicious! (This was the Grandview location)
We've visited Grandview Cap City several times for both business and non-business meals, and are never disappointed. The food is high quality, the service is excellent, and the atmosphere is very pleasant without being too formal. The price is also very reasonable, and they have a nice patio for summer visits.
We love Cap City!
I've always liked this restaurant and this experience was just ok. Some of our party really liked their food and for others it was pretty average. The restaurant wasnt busy, but had to wait for two things requested when ordered... one burger came with wrong cheese and mustard was requested and not served. Had to be requested again from food runner and took well over 5 minutes to get. Salmon was over cooked. Next time I'll ask for medium rare.
Excellent food, good servive
It was great. The food was phenomenal. Had the special beef stroganoff. Delicious
Great as always
Everyone's meal was good, but mine. The meat was really stringy and fatty.
Great food and service, typical experience at this location
Excellent service great food
Celebrating parent’s 50th wedding anniversary.
It was great experience for my birthday! Thank you! I totally enjoyed it!
Great comfort food & service in a fun diner atmosphere! I would definitely recommend Cap City!!!
Planned a surprise 85th birthday dinner here; the server, food, and staff could not have been more wonderful!! Thank you, Cap City!!
Friendly staff. Great food. Prompt service that met our timing needs. One of our favorite “go to” restsurants
Always excellent food and service. We were seated promptly at our reservation time. Never disappoints.
Food was exceptional. Everyone of our 6 meals was cooked to perfection and we would order again. Upscale experience without the formality. Friendly to families with children. Would 100% recommend this location and restaurant to anyone!
Made online reservations for a Sat night. We were seated in less than 5 min after being told the table was being cleaned. Service was quick and attentive, almost felt like we were being rushed though. Wait for the food was actually quicker than one would expect. The table was for 2 with a chair and a long, solid cushioned "bench"along the wall. There were 4 tables like this . A little on the cozy side. Our neighbors were fine so it wasn't a problem.
The food was brought by a RUNNER - not good- but everything was fine though and our waiter did check in quickly.
Food was fine and a fair value BUT our drinks were overpriced. Menu prices for drinks were on the high side but I just ordered a "well" bourbon on the rocks and was charged $9. My wife ordered an a "well" amaretto sour and it was $8. Both of these drinks should have been lower than the menu prices listed for upper shelf . My belief that I was taken advantaged of trumped an otherwise above average dining experience and will probably keep us from returning.
Great customer service and plenty of gluten free options!
Great food, great service. Just a little bit too loud for our taste.
Everything was very good. Cinnamon buns were plus. Great value and service with terrific food.
Ate here with my family, including my young toddler. It was a great experience and can't wait to return.
We are big fans of Cameron Mitchell restaurants - read his book - the whole deal and usually rave about our experience, but our server wasn't top notch and the food wasn't either. We always ask for extra crispy wings and these were served with wiggly skin - yuck! The server didn't come to ask us about them, so we just pulled the skin off which defeats the purpose of the delicious sticky tamarind sauce.
We split the romano crusted chicken, as we always do, but it was brought out so quickly that it was cold by the time we were finished with the wings. Who wants cold food?
And, we had to ask for rolls when they are usually automatically brought to the table.
I told my husband that if that had been my first experience with Cap City, I would never make an effort to go back. Good thing we have years of positive experiences to outweigh this one.
Flowing from the host great greeting, to the seating, to an awesome and grade A bartender, then to the payment all was awesome. Combine this with great food so I am hooked for good. Bravo to the team.
We had a wonderful expereience! Great food and great service.
Great Food and Service
Great place to meet for dinner. Seems to be centrally located for people I frequently meet for dinner. Always good food, warm and inviting, and the service is great(Anna).
The food was not quite as good as I remembered it. Just a bit disappointed. Service was very good. Our server was Alex. She was attentive and sweet. Not a terrible experience. One minor complaint: your cider option was not chosen by a cider lover. It was not good. It tasted of fruit and soap!
