Cantina Laredo - Frisco Ratings and Reviews
Had not been her for many years due to the distance and price. Service was good but food was overpriced and rather boring. My wife had to dump an entire cup of hot sauce into the tortilla soup just to give it any flavor. Really not much ambiance as well - unless you count drunk friends yelling across the table to each other during normal conversation.
We are new to the area and wanted Mexican food. We were in for a GREAT SURPRISE of how tasty Cantina Laredo's food was. Had it delivered two nights earlier and it was just as tasty and warm dining in as well as getting it delivered for room service. They are remodeling their restaurant at this time....can't wait to go back once the remodel is completed. They are still open during their remodel.
We have been here nearly 20 times, very disappointing this visit. Light burnt out over our booth, absolutely inattentive and terrible service - issues with 2 of 3 courses and 25 minutes to get a margarita. It wasn’t because it was busy...The place was nearly empty, at one point 7 servers sitting at adjacent tables socializing because there were so few customers. Super disappointing experience.
Food was excellent, service wasn't so great. Server paid very little attention to us until he (finally) brought the check. Now he wants to be friendly when it's tip time. Where were you when we were out of salsa, chips, and water while we waited and waited for our food?
Very slow service on a Sunday night and there were very few patrons. The server did not know what beers they had on tap and when I ordered a draft beer he brought me a bottle. He was very young and seemed to be his first day serving but he didn't know the difference between a draft and a bottle? Everything was slow and the food was underwhelming. Cantina Laredo in Scottsdale, AZ used to be one of my favorite restaurants. Can't say that about the Frisco location. Won't be back.
Great restaurant, wonderful fresh food and welcoming atmosphere. Fatima, David and Jorge are the best and always take great care of us.
The manager is excellent, greeting guests, monitoring and walking table to table welcoming the guests, and making sure they are well taken care of!
I believe they all need giant raises as they are the reason the restaurant is full most every night!!!!
We always enjoy our time at Cantina Laredo! The food and service are top notch! Ric, the Manager, always takes time to stop and say hello and make sure we have everything we need to make our dinner there perfect! You've got to try their hot apple pie with cinnamon ice cream and hot carmel sauce! It's amazing!
Did Cantino Lorado know there was a James Taylor Concert around the corner from them on Monday evening July 31? Apparently not. Had a reservation for 7 at 6 pm. About 6:15 we got chips and salsa--no water. Drink order taken. I don't even want to go through the evening--it frustrates me again. Needless to say, we won't go to this restaurant again. Poorly managed Restaurant.
The margaritas were good, the chicken flautas were amazing, I ordered the carne Asada tacos and the meat was somewhat tough and didn't have much flavor. Our server was nice but wasn't attentive enough, we were needing more drinks and had to wait. The guacamole was good but wasn't a big portion for the price.
The apple pie desert, normally delicious was horrible. The caramel sauce didn't sizzle and when we complained to our very inexperienced server, she just pushed saying it was going to taste the same, which it didn't. Hope they start hiring some more experienced servers like they use to have.
We have always enjoyed the restaurant, but unfortunately they seemed to know nothing about our 5:00 p.m. reservation. Had to wait 30 minutes to place our order. Waiters were tired and appeared to be understaffed. Food was very good. Just disappointed as our table was right by the door. The restaurant can do better than this
We used to love Catina Laredo back when they were in Addison in the 1990s but they have fallen off the radar since. For good reason, we found out.....
We were seated and waited 10 minutes for a server to come over. This was accomplished only by asking the manager for service. He had 3 servers huddled next to him but waited for our slammed server to get over to us rather than having someone slide over to assist. 10 minutes after our initial discussion with our server we received chips and hot sauce, and five minutes after that the ice teas finally arrived.
My combo fajitas were serviceable, but they weren't combo - only chicken. My wife's dish included shrimp that had obviously been frozen, similar in quality to what you would expect at Red Lobster.
We were overcharged. Fitting end to our last meal at Cantina Laredo.
