    I had never been to Candicci's before. I really enjoyed everything about the places. The wait staff was excellent; the food very good; prices inline with other nice area restaurants. I will definitely return.

    We had reservations, however there was a lengthy wait so we ended up going to Massa’s. It was evident that people were seated without reservations or the restaurant overbooked reservations.

    We hadn’t been to Candicci’s in many years - since before they moved to Ballwin. We used to frequent both Clayton and Creve Coeur locations and enjoyed both very much. We even had them cater our wedding. Our server was very responsive to us. However, it took over an hour for us to get our food and two of our three meals were cold. The server told us the kitchen got overwhelmed with too many orders at once. Not sure we’ll try them again as there are better, more consistent restaurants much closer to us.

    We were celebrating a birthday and we were seated in the semi-private room. We all had fabulous food and service. The wine was served in a generous sized glass. Dessert was excellent too!

    I was looking for a place to take a first date. I liked the looks of Candicci's but the reviews on service seemed mixed. She knew someone that liked it there. I'm not sure what happened with the other people but our service was excellent. The server and the bus person were always on top of things and asked several times if we needed anything else. The bread was outstanding. The food was very good. We're going back to try the pizza. It looked awesome.

    Had a Buffett for Christmas Eve. Been there last seven years and was able to order off menu. No warning when we made the reservation. Food was marginal at best. Looks like we will start a new tradition.

    Very disappointed. Out for Christmas Eve with family. Didnt realize it was a buffet, that was my fault. However buffet food was Luke warm and many of the dishes virtually tasteless. While the salad looked delicious, it lacked any taste of dressing . Pasta dishes were okay but as I said only slightly warm. The desserts were tasty but unfortunately they were warm. Coconut custard and the like really need to be chilled. Prime rib and the shrimp were good. Will think twice before going to the Candicci’s in Ballwin. Sorry for the not so stellar review ☹️

    one of the guests at our table had to send back his meal. It was not hot and had an off taste. The rest of us were satisfied. the noise level was high and the accordion music added to that.

    Out of six adults, 3 entrees were messed up and horrible. Food came out cold or not as menu described. I had made reservations for a Birthday celebration. Waiter never acknowledged the Birthday and came up with numerous reasons why our orders were wrong. One person went without eating because her entree was stone cold ( shrimp scampi). Horrible experience!!!

    Nice evening with friends. Our food was very good, but our friends ordered a pizza with mushrooms and it came with olives. They accepted that because they did not want to wait for another one. However, when the bill came, they were charged extra for mushrooms! They did not take it off the bill either! Disappointing.

    Too long of a wait for food, clunky large bowls for pasta with enormous amounts for one person, the drink I got was so strong I couldn’t drink it. When I found this place I expected a little more class, but to me it was run down, plastic/rubber like tablecloths. I’m glad I spent my opentable gift certificate here, because I would have been really disappointed if I had to spend the $50. I would have preferred to go to red lobster or olive garden.

    From the beginning to end, it was a bad experience, except for the entertainment (Mike & Leslie). The hostess was in a tizzy, seemingly confused. She couldn't find 2 menus. It took an hour to get our food. When I asked about the delay, our waiter said several kitchen employees had recently quit and they were short-handed. The pasta bolognese had no meat (apparently someone doesn't understand what "bolognese" means. I ordered a chicken dish which was supposed to have a balsamic vinegar sauce, but the entire dish was black with a puddle of straight balsamic vinegar, instead of a reduction. I could not eat the vegetables, which I was looking forward to. The bread was good.

    The waiter tried but just not a place to go back to. Musty smell when you walk in door and you don’t get a sense the place ins clean. Food is average.

    Apparently we went for our first time on a BAD night. Made our reservation on open table, went in got seated right away. Overheard the hostess and the waiter arguing bc he didn’t feel like he could take another table. Sat down and waited almost 10 min before anyone came over to take a drink order. Looking around the place was busy but everyone looked mad. The waiter told us they were running a little slow bc two cooks had not shown up. There was no customary bread to offer bc their weren’t enough cooks to keep up. He took our order and it took over an hour to get our food. We noticed another table receive bread right after being seated so we asked if there was bread available while we were waiting for our food and our waiter went to check and came back 10 min later with bread. I thought for sure that for how long they were making customers wait for food that they would offer free drinks or something...but nothing. I’m pretty sure the owner or maybe a manager was walking around and they offered nothing for the poor service. I really empathize with restaurants when they get stuck with low staff etc but I would also expect them to handle it more professionally the staff were all walking around complaining. If they knew they were that slow in food they should NOT have been seating tables.

    Candicci's Restaurant has great Italian food. Our server was, perhaps, overextended due to the number of tables that were in his section. Consequently, service was less than stellar. Unfortunately, we were seated very close to a large party of people, one of whom was overly loud and obnoxious. The accordian player was a nice touch, but the volume at which he was playing was very distracting to carrying on a quiet conversation with our table of eight that evening. We dine at Candicci's regularly, and we really enjoy the happy hour specials. Overall, Candicci's represents a very good choice for dining. The staff and management are very accommodating.

    Food and drinks were great and service on point, 5 starts. 2-star ambiance because: 1) food and dirty napkin under our initial table...I smeared the food around with my shoe before figuring out the problem (just have staff check under tables when they clean the top), 2) wife's wine arrived with a fruit fly floating on the top (they replaced it) and we had another fruit fly buzzing around our meal as we ate (google "how to get rid of fruit flies"...they are unnecessary and yucky), 3) decor is showing it's age.

    Great food and ambience, my only criticism is that my food came out much later than everyone else at my table. It was so late that I had to have mine to go because everyone was done eating and ready to leave. That alone should have prompted the waitress to remove it from the bill or at least comp me a drink.

    My pasta was so bland I asked for red pepper flakes and it still was lack luster. Our service was awful. We will not be returning.
