We had the best waiter. He was so wonderful. We had a few people in our group with dietary restrictions and said their kitchen double and triple checks orders before they go out. That was very comforting to know they such care with their patrons orders. Thumbs up.
The new location is BEAUTIFUL! The dishes are the same (if not better) as they were at the old location.
Really liked the vibe of this place, but man the food was disa
We really enjoyed sitting upstairs. Unfortunately, it took a very long time for us to get our entrées.
Caffe Molise has been an outstanding restaurant for many years, and they are now much more accessible with their new convenient location.
Nice ambience. Our waiter was pleasant however, as reasonably priced as the entrees were, the upgrade on the house salad to a Caesar was way too expensive! The salad that came with the entree was actually larger than the Caesar which was delicious! But, the upgrade was $5.99‼️ We questioned our waiter as we thought he had made a mistake, but he said that’s what it was! I guess we should have asked for the price point on the salad upgrade but it was’t in line with the rest of the menu. I would recommend that the waiter say...”For $5.99, you can upgrade to a Caesar or...” My husband had a shrimp scampi w/ angel hair ( they did accommodate the pasta choice from fettuccine pasta.)
I has the egg plant meatballs which were interesting, the sauce made it! I wish I had substituted the polenta for something else...my fault! Ate early as it does get crowded & noiser as tables are close together.
Excellent food.. as always. Great service,
I had my first meal hear in April 2019 as a part of business lunch. I had the Arista and it was everything the menu and wait staff promised it to be. I returned to SLC in Nov 2019 and had the exact same dish. The Arista is one of my most favorite meals. The spice rubbed pork loin with the sweet fig sauce is just something very special that you just can't get anywhere but here.
Best restaurant in Utah! I’m a foodie from Seattle and have been terribly disappointed in food in Utah. This is by far my favorite place! The food rivals Seattle top Italian restaurants. Gnocchi was amazing as well as every dish we ordered. Highly recommended!
On a crowded Monday night, we found very poor service--the server undelivered one salad and made no effort to fill water glasses until asked--and only so-so food: spagetti not freshly made, a goopy sauce, asparagus roasted superficially but not tender, and very good salmon but offset by the pile. Not up to usual standards of the past. An often good restaurant on a bad night.
Enjoyable , good food & wine selections
The only thing that was not perfect was a mixup on one of the dishes and ended up by giving me something I did not like at all. It looked right, but it wasn't what I ordered. It was removed from the bill with apologies. The other dish which we did order was superb.
I think it’s safe to say that it is one of our top three favorite restaurants in Salt Lake. The food is wonderful, the service is great… And I never feel rushed to leave.
We loved the ambiance. We were seated on the upper floor at a corner table. We could easily carry on a conversation. As always, both the food and the service were excellent.
Lovely historic building. Excellent food. Great service.
My husband and I are trying to avoid carbs as much as possible, so he chose Italian food for dinner. Choosing our appetizer was easy but the entree was going to be more of a challenge, until we spoke to our server. When we explained that we didn’t want the starch and instead wanted extra veggies she was more than happy to oblige. To make things even easier she did not bring us any bread. This was great considering if my husband had had the option he would have caved. Overall the evening was wonderful and we will be back.
I’ve been here several times and was just a little disappointed with the food this visit. The presentation was beautiful but the mashed potatoes were a little dry and the steak wasn’t that flavorful. I expect a little more from a $50 meal. I will for sure go back, just won’t ever get the steak again.
After theatre (Miss Saigon) dining.
Our wait attendant, from the bar (name escapes me), was exceptional!
Please recognize her!
First time in your new location.
Always enjoy Cafe Molise.
We had a nice mid Sunday afternoon (late lunch? early dinner?) at Caffe Molise. Honestly it was pretty good, not fabulous. We have had a lot of (and love) good Italian food - both in Italy as well as in the cities we have lived in with strong Italian heritage (NYC, Boston, Connecticut) so we were looking for more than a spaghetti house. Our party of 6 had two shared appetizers and it was a mixed bag of success. The lunch menu is more limited - mostly pastas and polentas and they were tasty, if a little light on protein options. We had a lovely old vine zinfandel but 2 bottles at $52 apiece was pretty stiff. Wine choices were mostly fairly expensive. Would have loved to enjoy the dinner menu vs. the limited lunch menu and maybe we'll come back to try it again. By the time we left at nearly 6pm the dishes on surrounding tables looked more inviting.
Great! Food was amazing!
Had a great time here. It was my brother and mine first time. Great Italian wine selection and food was awesome. The only thing I can complain is the pace of service. I like to sit and control the pace. I had let my waiter know we were in no rush when he greeted us (also I wrote that in my reservation), yet each course kept coming out before we were even finished with the previous one. Other then that great service and I like the new place. Decor and ambience made it seem casual but at the same time refined.
Food was delicious! They were very considerate of my toddlers and brought their food out very quickly to make sure they were entertained!
So...I have eaten here 3 times now and every time I MUST come back and try another dish! Best food, great staff! One thing...do not think you must dress to the max! Cozy and comfy for any occasion.
This place is amazing! We loved everything about it.
We have eaten at Caffé Molise several times. Never disappoints.
I have not been to Caffe Molise in some time. I went for dinner because I enjoyed the meals, I have had there on previous visits to Salt Lake City. I ordered the Ahi Tuna Special on a bed of angel hair pasta, with asparagus. I was disappointed in the meal because the tuna was overcooked and there was a miniscule amount of pasta underneath it. This was partly my fault. I should have remembered to be specific as to its preparation. The bread pudding for dessert was tasty. Paul provided attentive service.
Beyond awesome! Awesome food, awesome building, great service.
Enjoyed the dining experience. Food, service, wine, and ambience were all good.
Love, love the design, decor, color scheme, wall paper & flooring! Outstanding ambience & beautiful bar area!
Our waiter was awesome! We did have to remind him to light our candle & bring bread, after our salads were already served! We had not finished our salads, when our main courses were delivered, leaving our table a bit crowded! Just a little tweak on timing! Overall everything was superb! Excited to go back!
The food was good as usual, but the service was bizarre and unsettling.
The third member of our party arrived before us and ordered a glass of wine at the bar. Once seated, the rest of us ordered a glass as well. We then ordered a bottle to share with dinner. Server A brought out the bottle, but stated that he couldn't open it or leave it on the table because we already had wine on the table. He left the three empty glasses that he'd brought. Quite some time after we'd finished our initial glasses, server B arrived to collect all six empty glasses. We explained that three glasses were for the wine that we'd ordered but not yet received. Some time later the bottle appeared and was opened.
After the check was presented, we asked that one third of the check be charged to card number one, and the remaining two thirds be charged to card number two. Server A said, "I can't do the math; you have to do the math." I said, "Fine, we'll take the check up front and let them take care of it." Server A said, "They can't do it either; they have the same computer that I do." I said, "Fine, bring me a pen and I'll do the math." Server A somehow took offense at this and said that I had no call to talk to him like this.
I borrowed a pen from one of our party and did the math. Some time went by and server A did not reappear. I was just about to take the check and math to the front when Server C arrived. I explained that I had done the math to split the check and presented the figures. Server C said, "No problem; I can split the check. One third on card 1 and two thirds on card 2, right?" He was back in a minute with our credit card slips.
Great place for an intimate dinner. Not overpriced, and delicious. Beautiful building and woodwork. Had a wonderful experience with a non-pretentious staff, wonderful food, and inviting ambience.
Our server, "the Don" was caring, knowledgeable, insisted that our food wasn't served too early, wouldn't let one course overlap another. Basically knew the craft of his trade.
Thank you Don!
Good restaurant in historic building. Good food, service and ambiance.
Excellent service; delicious pasta and tiramisu. We sat in the smaller room which was great. Would return.
Paul took great care of us. We had some great food and enjoyed celebrating our anniversary.
Food was wonderful, great experience! Love coming here when in town!
We really enjoyed our business lunch at Caffe Molise. The food was delicious, the servers were polite and helpful, and the ambiance was quiet and elegant. We look forward to returning soon!
Really great place to eat! Cool environment! Food is top notch server was less than desirable but overall great experience and place.
The scallops were to die for! We had plans in SLC and just went to the closest place and it turned out to be the highlight of our evening!
