   Our server was terrific! The food was great. The noise is not something I think you can do anything about. It is not over the top loud, I think it’s just the way the restaurant is built, high ceilings do the noise travels. Doesn’t keep me from returning! My only other thing is when I bring a large party and we are seated at a long table, it is hard to converse with the other end. A round or oval table for larger parties would be nice. Again, doesn’t keep me from returning.

   Love this place. My wife and been coming here for the past 3 years and they never disappoint. Great food and our server was even greater.

   The fiocchi is my favorite. This and the ravioli are the best. The fresh pasta is unbeatable and for an incredibly reasonably price.

    Food way okay but nothing to write home about. Service was slow with many open tables on a Friday night. You would think a restaurant in downtown would have a liquor license in 2023.

    I had the fiocchi, which was one of the best and one of the most unique pasta dishes I’ve ever had. It was unbelievably delicious! Even in February, the melon and prosciutto appetizer was sweet and the serving was generous. My husband has celiac disease, and so Italian restaurants are just okay to him, but it is easy to eat GF at Caffe Luna. Our service was excellent and prices are unbelievably fair. The restaurant is noisy, if that’s a problem for you. If I have to have a complaint, it’s the tiny wine glasses!

    We really enjoyed our meal. I made a reservation for a corner table by a window and Caffe Luna delivered. Fantastic! I will say that I ordered what I thought would be a plate of vegetables and shrimp. Ended up with 5 sad asparagus stalks, which was a let down. But the shrimp was phenomenal. Our server was sweet and answered all of our questions.

    We were very underwhelmed with the atmosphere and food. The dining room was extremely loud, the quality of food was sub par and inauthentic, and the area is sketchy to say the least. The bread was cold and stale, lasagna pasta was overcooked and mushy, cheesecake tasted like it was from a box and it was served with 1, yes 1 maraschino cherry from a jar. The servers were walking around with a black plastic box with a clear flip top lid and spoon serving grated parmesan cheese at the tables. There were so many opportunities to add the little touches that would have improved the experience such as freshly toasted warm bread, coarse sea salt on the caprese appetizer, al dente pasta, fresh fruit on the cheesecake, fresh grated parmesan and salt/pepper grinders not diner shakers at the tables. We were very disappointed in the experience as we were expecting that Cafe Luna would be much more impressive based on the fact that it has been a staple in the downtown area for years. Unfortunately, we will not be returning to this establishment, nor will we recommend it. There are many more Italian restaurants in the Raleigh Durham area where we would rather spend our time and money.

    We were late for our reservation so I called and the staff was very nice on the phone and held our table. The server we had was not knowledgeable about the wine selection so she could not recommend a good red wine. They didn’t have butter for the bread only oil which I do not like. Salad was fresh but lacking in amount of dressing…ask for a bit extra. I could barely taste it. The rest of our food was good and we enjoyed it.

    Once again, we had a very wonderful dining experience. The two persons at the front desk welcomed us warmly and tolerated our wanting to change seats (twice!). Our attendant, Lulu, remembered us from past visits and was very knowledgeable about the entire menu, attentive and respectful. The food service was prompt and all of the dishes were exceptionally delicious. In all, everyone was professional, courteous and kind. We will be back soon!

    Second visit. First one the food was bland. All four guests at my table said the same. Was also very noisy. Gave it a second chance a year later; food was bland. My dish was returned and came back the same. Beautiful room, service was very good. But the food is not up to the reputation.

    Food and service were impeccable. I especially liked the fact that the kitchen was flexible regarding the sauces available for the various dishes. I don’t particularly like cream sauces, and the dish I ordered was also available with a fantastic tomato sauce. Overall, I highly recommend Cafe Luna.

    Only my second time at Caffe Luna and it confirmed my previous visit that it is very, very good. The value for money is outstanding. Both the food preparation and the service are excellent. The partners should be proud of their restaurant. Well done!
