Caffe Bella Italia Ratings and Reviews
Truly exceptional meal that made me feel like I was at a family dinner in Italy. Most impressive: Telling the server what we liked and asking the chef to make whatever he thought would taste good. Result? Superb spicy seafood pasta! Outstanding. Looking forward to returning again soon. Highly recommended!
This visit was my second time at this wonderful restaurant. Three of us started with bruschettone and caprese, then moved to lemon chicken for two of us and salmon for the third. Everyone thought the food was delicious. After dinner, although we didn't need dessert, the waiter brought over a tray with a lovely selection of fruit and custard desserts. We couldn't resist.
High quality, reasonably price Italian food in a sea of mediocre options. Been here regularly, and never disappointed. Good for families, romantic dinners, and dinner with friends pre-going-out. Super nice family owners. Staff is excellent, service the same.
This is our go to restaurant. The food is amazing, everything is authentic Italian, just like being back home at our Italian friends and families house for dinner. The service is wonderful, we are treated like family every time we are there. Love love love this place!!
My wife's steak was perfectly prepared (rare to medium-rare), which seldom happens at most other restaurants. Their seafood dishes are fresh, and delicious. Our server, Davide, is a true pro. This was our second visit during the past ear, and we have been very impressed both times. The staff exude an authentic warmth and sincerity seldom found. We will return the next time we visit the PB area.
My daughter and son-in-law, who run a small store with a kitchen, were visiting us from out of state. We decided to take a day trip to San Diego. We enjoyed a tasting and tour of Ballast Point brewery, then a quick trip to Hotel del Coronado for a walk on the beach. We met up with my daughter's friend at this quaint Italian cafe in Pacific Beach. It was the perfect way to wrap up the day. Our server, Juan Pablo, was tremendous. He made some excellent recommendations in both food choices and wine pairings. From the garlic bread and soup to the gnocchi and veal dishes, all were expertly prepared and served. Thank you!
Caffe Bella is a hidden gem. We are so glad we found this place as being from Chicago, we know REAL authentic Italian food and this place has it!! From the delicious food to the amazing service, that treats you like family. You just can't go wrong. We LOVE this place!
Just a so so restaurant.sorry we wasted a dinner there. waiter was friendly but atmosphere was not very impressive. I had probably the smallest clams ever !. Hubby had spaghetti and meat balls..5 very little meatballs...Friend had the lasagne that could have fed us all!
I am an avid lover of real authentic Italian food...and I honestly would have rather gone to Olive Garden. Yes, Olive Garden. Soo ridiculously overpriced. Unless your drinking alcohol/wine, our server came over maybe 3 times the entire visit. Every other table though with bottles of wine were getting chatted up every few minutes. The look of this place is cool and fun, but everything else about this place is garbage.
We had been here before, but they have updated the decor and menu a bit since then. "Pask" (Pasquale=Chef) was most cordial, and visited our table and requested and accepted feedback. I said that the last time that we ate dinner, (before him??) the dressing we had was inconsequential for the simple salad, but the rest of the menu was fine. This time we had the Pomegranate Balsamic Reduction dressing and it was much more satisfying. This is 'nit-picking,' but the improvement on this subtlety makes a fine first taste. We had the garlic bread appetizer, salad, pesto ravioli, and the vegetarian pizza. All were prepared superbly, and presented and timed in fine order. Our waitress that evening was Bruna(?sp), warm, engaging and very responsive. We have put them back on our 'rotation' list of fine dining, for Italian cuisine. Highly recommended. Their menu had plenty for us to choose from, (lacto-vegetarians) but there was suitable choices for all other palates. Ciao
My husband and I were both very happy with the riccia salad we shared, as well as our pastas. I had linguini with a light tomato sauce and seafood and it was perfectly spiced and reminded me of southern Italy. The other pasta we had was the paparedelle funghi salsicci and it was delicious. Delightful waiter!
