I ordered the creamy squash Grits. The orange colored spicy sauce served in a small bowl inside the big bowl had half spilled over my dish. Luckily I like some spice. The grits were not creamy. They were not cooked correctly. They were gritty and chewy. I told the waiter when he asked. When the waiter found out from the chef that there was agreement they were not 100% cooked, he offered a side to my already big meal.

I did order fruit, but asked for no honeydew melon. The cup came out served by a manager. His jacket reeked of cigarette smoke.
The fruit cup was half full of honeydew. I gave up.
The location is cool. The Apple Gouda sausage was very tasty. Eggs were done right. There were collard greens under the grits, also tasty.
I’d give it another try. Not overly impressed.

The food and coffee was disappointing for our brunch. I had been there before and it really dropped in quality. Service and ambience continued to be lovely.

We had not been to the Café in over a year, so we were looking forward to trying the new chef's dishes. She did not disappoint! The soup was incredible, the entrée delicious. Service, as always, was excellent (thank you Stacey!) It's good to see that the excellent tradition started by Jennifer Maloney continues...

This was our first time and the food was delightful. Not a large selection but everything we had “delicious” would recommend the trout or spaghetti squash.

It was the perfect place to take out-of-town visitors. They were in awe of the restaurant and the museum. We'll be back soon.

Cafe Sebastienne's new chef seems to have a good menu. As someone who is gluten and lactose free I'd prefer more choices, but I appreciate the willingness to adapt and substitute.

Everything was what I have wanted in a meal. The flavors that the chef explored left my palette in awe. Cafe Sabastienne has a menu that would please anyone and the quality is unparalleled. The Host and wait staff were the most likely people and the ambiance is very contemporary art. I just loved every minute I spent at Cafe Sabastienne.

I brought my boyfriend and his sister and niece to Café Sebastienne to celebrate his birthday. We made reservations however, they weren't necessary as the restaurant wasn't busy at 1:45 in the afternoon. The food was absolutely fabulous and they were very accommodating to us in preparing a meal that was vegetarian and gluten free. Our waiter was very attentive and pleasant and we loved the atmosphere with all the beautiful artwork. This is a great place to bring friends and family. We had a great time visiting and eating lunch. Afterward we enjoyed the exhibits. It was a great way to celebrate. We had always wanted to have lunch here and we were thrilled at our experience overall. I highly recommend Café Sebastienne.

We celebrated our wedding anniversary and could not have been happier with our choice of Café Sebastienne. The new chef Remey is a fabulous addition to Kansas City cuisine. I also recommend this fine restaurant for casual dinning during the week.

Cafe Sebastienne is truly a neighbourhood gem within the Kemper Contemporary Museum.
The food and energy, Art and a comfortable sophistication describe the delightful atmosphere of Cafe Sebastienne. It is a "go to" cafe for me and many friends.

If there is a better place to dine AND have access to a gem of a museum, I do not know of it. In all the years of dining at Cafe Sebastienne, I have never been disappointed. But nothing makes me happier than when out-of-town guests rave about their dining experience. It is always a happy choice with a wait staff that is impressive and a menu that is award winning. Just a wonderful experience all the way around!

Great place to go for brunch! Hands down the best scones i've ever had. All of the brunch dishes are delicious. Great staff and service, and wonderful ambiance. Easy to go to see the galleries at the kemper before or after, and their shows are well worth seeing as is the rest of their collection. What a jewel for Kansas City!

The food was delicious and the menu options had great variety. The servings were the perfect size. The plating of the food was creative, original and tastefully done. I would definitely recommend the greens starter salad. The combination of ingredients was amazing. Our waiter was helpful and friendly. The whole atmosphere of the restaurant was quiet and peaceful. It was a great experience, and I would definitely visit again.

We have been to Cafe Sebastienne twice in less than a week, primarily because it's always worth the trip. A stroll through the Gallery afterward is an added pleasure!

I'd say that it has been at least 15 years since I've dined at Cafe Sebastian and that dining experience was exceptional! This time out was no different. The artistic atmosphere is a given, always wonderful! The service was pleasant and efficient. Our server asked us if we were on a theater/entertainment schedule (which we were) and he made sure to adhere to it without sacrificing a pleasant dining experience. Standouts for the evening was the unique menu selection, as it should be! The changed weekly crafted cocktails menu was perfection!!! Cafe Sebastian is a very special place to dine. My guests and I highly recommend that you give it a try!

Had 11:00 resers for brunch...sat in atrium...noise level escalated as diners number increased...hostess wears too much patchouli for a resturant environment...cold aluminum surface on table...very minimal...but not in a good aesthetic way...service was slow...ordered a fritata...odd color/taste & overdone (sent back & ate a scone), other person ordered eggs benedict w/sauteed spinach on bed of Kobe hash...very pedstrian...nothing that would inspire a return...had pot of hot water for tea...no offer to refill...just a nonevent...it's too bad as it could have easily been more memorable given the museum ambiance...will not return...the hollandaise at Eggtc puts this to shame...

The mixed drinks are amazing. The food was exquisite. We sat in the covered "courtyard" area and it was beautiful and very peaceful. The museum itself is a gem...what a great way to spend an evening.
This would also be a great Saturday afteroon spot- Go to the Nelson-Atkins, the Kemper, and then end with a beautiful meal at Cafe Sebastian.
