Cafe Routier, Bistro and Lounge, serving a three paneled menu format; Regional (a different region of the world every 8 weeks), Seasonal (locally sourced seasonal ingredients) and a specialty menu of classic Bistro fare. A 40 seat lounge serving 'small plates' and tapas adjoins the bar area. Ethos is important to us.

Reservations made online are for our dining room only. Our lounge does not require reservations and works on a first come/first serve approach, so please do not make a reservation if your intent is to sit in the lounge!

Honestly, I never do much reviewing but I do have something to say. Routier is one of our favorite places for a fine meal and we have been many times. This visit we went with another couple and when it came time to order entrees we were disappointed to find that there were really no gluten free options available for my wife, who is a celiac and very sensitive. She was able to cobble a meal together but it was awkward and just sort of ruined the experience. There’s always steak and potatoes of course but that’s not really what we go there for, usually. At this point, most places have at least a GF notation of some sort in their menus and it never seemed to be an issue before at Cafe Routier, but this was…disappointing. Thanks.

Steak Frites was excellent wife had the Sea Bass which she enjoyed drinks were good .Its are go to place food always consistent French Fries are the best.

Excellent wait staff, varied menu, all dishes were delicious, from apps to dessert. We sat in the front near a window and it was a nice, quiet atmosphere. Sounded more lively toward the back of the restaurant. Would absolutely recommend. We will be coming back!

Always a great dining experience. Wonderful service, nicely paced meal. Food was off the chart! The duck, and the trout were exceptional. We will continue to return to this fabulous restaurant.

What a treasure to find right off of i95 on our way to Norwich! Service was wonderful from maitre'de and the wait staff. Food was delicious. I enjoyed the French Onion soup (no bread, though, since I am GF) and the lamb chops with potatoes. DH couldn't stop eating the curry sauce that was with the mussels and enjoyed the mahi tacos as well. Interesting collection of foods from sushi to Italian to Mexican and French.

The most difficult part of our dinner was trying to decide on what to order. The offerings were varied and creative. Our selections were delicious and the service was exceptional! This is my new favorite restaurant!
