About Cafe Reconcile

Café Reconcile is a workforce training and support services nonprofit that operates a restaurant used to train underrepresented youth from the New Orleans area. Since the restaurant opened in 2000, more than 1,500 young people (ages 16-24) have successfully completed the program and moved into permanent jobs in New Orleans’ food service industry and beyond. Focusing on the kind of “soul food” for which New Orleans is known, the restaurant has earned high praise from local and national critics.

A phenomenal New Orleans meal in
and of itself, and the added bonus of interacting with smart, cool kids who are changing their lives for the better, thanks to the Cafe Reconcile program. Double delicious.

A great place to go to support helping at risk youth who are learning how to run a restaurant from serving to cooking. As Chef Jo says his proteges are leaning how to live instead of just surviving. The classic New Orleans fare was cooked well.

The food was great and well priced. The restaurant does not have its liquor license yet, but you can bring your own wine and they will serve it. The best thing is that you know you are helping people when you eat at this restaurant. I'm so glad that it is now open on Friday nights. we will definitely be back!

We were greeted by a friendly gentleman and promptly seated. The restaurant was clean and inviting. Our waitress was pleasant and knew the menu well; she was able to make some good suggestions. Out food didn't take long to arrive and was tasty and abundant. Everyone enjoyed themselves and no one left disappointed. A great experience.
