Fantastic service and delicious homemade food!!! We will be back and recommend to our friends😊
Where to begin? I was really looking forward to this meal with my friends for a birthday. We'd heard great things about the food, and the food did not disappoint. The kebabs were delicious and the rice was cooked to perfection. However, our delight stopped there. Our server didn't take drink orders until every single person showed up (one couple was late due to a babysitter issue). Then, it took another 20-30 minutes for the drinks (and some of the drinks were not what were ordered). When we finally ordered food, the server spilled salad dressing down the back of two of our coats and into my purse. While she did apologize a few minutes later, it was frustrating that we were not offered any help cleaning up. I will now be taking my coat to the dry-cleaner, which is also frustrating. One person in the party needed to leave early, and the server started bringing everyone's check even though a few of us wanted dessert and more drinks (neither were offered to us). When we let her know this, she seemed annoyed that we weren't finished. Several staff member's stopped by to clean up the table and clear the books, and at one point the server demanded that one of us had not paid (she did pay, in cash). It may be better to not have multiple people picking up the books to keep these instances from happening. I will go back and grab a drink at the bar of the gin room, but I will not be back to Cafe Natasha's. The owner (maybe?) was really sweet when we arrived and even brought a vase to the table for flowers someone brought. She was a positive in this poor experience.
We are loyal customers, and we brought along relatives who are picky eaters. Everyone enjoyed the food! Clean plates were all around!
Very good service, food was delicious and even more time will be spent outside and/or in the Gin Room next time.
We had dinner here and really enjoyed everything. Friendly & efficient server, hot and tasty food - at a reasonable price. We started with eggplant dip appetizer - whipped with mint and spices. It came with warm pita, but the dip was so delicious, I ate it direct with my fork. Dinner was shish-kebob (marinated chicken and beef) for my husband and lamb biryani for me. Generous, hot (as in temperature) servings. We both took home about 30% of our dinner. Loved the lamb - lean, long-cooked and flavorful over biryani rice. Highly recommend.
Cafe Natasha is a small unassuming place with white cloth tablecloths and a very nice ambience. The service was prompt and courteous. The food was outstanding - a platter of hummus, Baba Ganoush, and falafel was a great starter. Kabobs for dinner with basmati rice and salads with wonderful fresh feta cheese - all delightful.
Very flavorful food, good service, nice overall ambiance.
Iranian cuisine with regional specialities. NOT a steak & chop place so don't go with those hopes! Worth a visit or three.
Service was horrid. I still have not cotton the food as ordered.
This was my first time to visit Cafe Natasha and will certainly not be my last. Both the food and service were suoerb,
Delicious food and great service. Definitely feels like home cooking in the best way. Great place for gin and tonics too!
Came here with 2 adults and 3 kids. We all loved our food. We also ordered take-out for 4 friends and they loved the food as well.
Chicken/Beef Kabob combo was outstanding! Very tender and flavorful. Great wait staff as well.
We love Cafe Natasha. Good food and a lovely staff. They have a lovely menu with options for meat eaters and vegetarians.
We did have a large party of 12 but with reservations well in advance so it was no surprise.
It took 20 mins for her to take drink orders, after we had to ask for drink menus in the first place.
When she did take our food order about 45 mins later, it took 1.5 hours for our food to come out. She never came back to ask how things were going in that 1.5 hour time she had to be waved down. I've been there before with large group and they did separate checks she 1st said yes then came back and said no bc the cc company charges too much. By the way she still ran the same amount of cards she would have had to in the 1st place . She was nice once she brought us our bill.
Understand it was a large group and which we do A LOT and other places but this night was just poor. Poor service, if the kitchen is backed up you let us know, you check on us don't avoid us.
This is not my kind of place. My palate is pretty basic. But I knew my out-of-town guest would love it and he did. There is one thing on the menu I like, and anytime I go there, it's what I get. It was delicious as always. The steak is cooked right and seasoned well as is the chicken (although a little dry this time), and the rice was perfect as always.
The service was good and just speedy enough. The water glass never got below half.
I think the place is a little pricey for the area, but I don't go often enough that it breaks my wallet. But I definitely would only come here for special occasions rather than a weekly or bi-weekly stop like I do at other restaurants on Grand (I live just a couple blocks away).
We were on the dining room side and even though only about half the tables were full, the noise level was excessive. We could hardly hold a conversation.
The ambiance in the dining room is pretty blah, but the bar side and outdoor patio are spectacular.
Good food and great patio with reasonable prices. .......
Service was great. Food was abundant and very tasty. Portions were very generous - even the appetizers were large portions. Everything we had was super!
First off, do yourself a favor and go an hour early. The expert folks in Natasha's Gin Room make really amazing cocktails, even if you think you don't like Gin. (I told them I like Manhattans. They made a shockingly Manhattan-like cocktail with Gin.)
The Persian food is delicious and authentic. On the night we went, there seemed to be a staff shortage - it took 45 minutes to get appetizers after being seated, then another 45 to get entrees. I suspect this is an aberration, so don't be deterred. The wine list is minimal at best, so you might want to stick to cocktails or a Persian drink.
A great place for a kabobs. We sat outside, scenery nothing too fancy, but the flowers and plants made it peaceful and nice. I had the beef, which was tender and flavorful. Also tried the chicken, it was a bit dry, but spiced perfectly. Service was a bit slow, but we were in no hurry.
Always a hit! We've never had a bad experience here! Good is amazing and the drinks are great (albeit a little pricey)!
Food was great, service was not. Owner apologized.
Excellent experience for Mother's Day dining. Eclectic atmosphere and excellent Persian food! Be adventurous and try something new, everything I've had has been delicious. Save room for the rosewater ice cream!
The food WA excellent. The eggplant was particularly good
CN is quickly becoming one of our favorite restaurants. New to the area on the Illinois side, CN is always worth the drive. Third visit in the books: 6 entrees, 6 different appetizers, 6 different gin specialities, and their dessert.....have yet to find anything less than stellar. A must go to if in STL!
Overall our experience was great. The food was excellent. Very well seasoned and very tasty. The only bad things was the service was not stellar. We also didn't get any pita bread with our entrees. But other than that, it was great and we will definitely be back.
A different taste but delicious. We plan to return, despite being a further drive than usual for us.
A charming little middle eastern food experience. The gin bar was great, if a little overwhelming. The bartender's recommendations were spot on, and the waitress was very helpful in our food choices. A nice little cozy spot for a very good meal.
The environment was great and the staff was so friendly. They went the extra mile by putting candles in my cupcakes and singing happy birthday. The food was also very authentic. Great experience.
Excellent food. Extremely authentic and flavorful.
