We look forward to every visit. The food is worth making a reservation. The service excellent. The chef makes you feel he’s cooking only for you and it’s soooo worth it! Our favorite restaurant in the Keys for sure.
Great new bartender same amazing chef
The food was amazing. Our server was very nice and attentive. The amuse-Bouche was a delicious bit of heaven and you must end your meal with an order of beignets. They were like eating sweet heavenly air! Definitely putting this on our list of restaurants to visit on our yearly trip to key west.
Had one of the best meals ever at the Peninsula Grill in Charleston SC when chef Graham was there and so had very high expectations for our meal at Cafe Marquesa. I am pleased to say, I was not disappointed!! The food was delicious! The presentation exquisite! The attention to detail exceptional. Chef Graham oversees everything and gives personal attention to each table. The price is higher than most restaurants in Key West but is definitely worth it!! So much so, that I made a reservation for 13 of us to celebrate a birthday. I highly recommend putting a visit to Cafe Marquesa on your list of things to do while in Key West!!
Our first trip to Cafe Marquesa and it was fabulous. Every course was better than the next. We began with a demitasse of tomato soup that was a gift from the chef - what a delight! Started with the She Crab soup with Sherry - delicious. We all enjoyed the Hogfish entree. Perfect in every way. Dessert - OMG - order the Beignets!!!! They make Cafe du Monde in New Orleans look like amateurs. Our waiter, Alvaro, was very attentive and the ambience was wonderful. Thank you Cafe Marquesa. Can't wait to return!!!
FABULOUS! The best service and meal I've had in Key West. Everything was perfect from the hostess' welcome to leaving. It is what you'd expect of a white tablecloth restaurant. The service and food exceeded our expectations. A perfect spot for date night in KW.
Wilson - you were such a FUN server and very knowledgeable about the food. Thank you for making it an unforgettable night. Your recommendations and jokes were the best part! Go browns! :)
Peter - the bartender came around after our cocktail was presented to be sure it was to taste! Peter is friendly and upbeat. He kept our wine glasses full even if Wilson was with another table. He really worked the room!
The Chef - Every course was spectacular. From the butter with our complimentary bread to the amazing seafood. And very much appreciated the complimentary soup tasting and cocktail with dessert.
Has become one of our favorite restaurants. If a restaurant can become some thing you really look forward to, then I think it has “arrived.” This is one of those places. Always good service. Each course is unique. Interesting cocktails. The chef comes out. It’s our favorite place in Key West
We love this place!!! Have eaten here many, many times and love the "French Bistro" atmosphere, the food and staff. Unfortunately we were seated in the new hotel area this time, which, while lovely, was bland. We partly love CM because of the atmosphere and this new room has none. The food was fantastic as always and the service impeccable (especially the addition of Bob the cat!) but we prefer to sit in the main dining room
Lovely dinner from start to finish. Great service, great wine list, delicious food. A must visit while in key west. Be sure to save room for beignets- they are worth the calories!!!
Wonderful meal at Cafe Marquesa, despite having picky teens with us. It’s a classic upscale restaurant. The Chef was very kind and sent us a complimentary appetizer & beignets with our dessert. It’s a special place with wonderful food.
Delicious dinner experience, our favorite in Key West!
Food is excellent. We sat on the porch of The Marquesa & it was quite cozy. Our server was new and did a great job!!
Our reservation time had to be changed due to a mandated curfew city-wide and the general manager went above and beyond to find a way to seat us earlier even though the restaurant was completely booked. The food quality was exquisite, very knowledgeable and friendly server, it was a wonderful way to kick off the new year.
Service and food were incredible! Great find in Key West.
Best restaurant in key west. Gorgeous venue
Chef Dailey’s creations and presentations coupled with the attentive and professional service by Alvero made for a fantastic dining experience
Amazing evening out. This place was recommended to us by friends and it did not disappoint. Everything on the menu looked amazing so we sampled as much as our bellies would hold. The fried green tomatoes, beef carpaccio, key lime pie and beignets were outstanding. And don’t miss out on their espresso martini!
Long time locals and I have to say this is one of the worst fine dining experiences I've had in ten years living on the island.
First off service and atmosphere were great, no complaint there. Apps were fine.
Where it went off the rails were our main courses. Even by Key West standards 3 scallops for 42 dollars is absurd. Then put it on a black bean and corn base and it's just silly. To make matters worse the kitchen didn't taste the black beans that night because if they had they would have realized they were rock hard and undercooked. Hard beans? Basic stuff.
My wife (whose birthday we were celebrating) got the Crispy hogfish. I have never seen a more miserly piece of fish in any fine dining restaurant ever. EVER. It was at best two ounces. 38 dollars? Ridiculous. Oh and the tiny piece had bones in it.
Not sure what went wrong, but there are way better places than this in the fine dining on the island. Go to louies, Santiago's, Blue Heaven or tavern and town. They have similar prices with delicious food and portions that fairly reflect the price.
Outstanding as always. We highly recommend Cafe Marquesa!
This should not be missed. The courses are delicious and atmosphere pleasant.
Food was excellent! Nice away from the crowd of Key West! The presentation was incredible! The beignets are out of this world. Bartender was on par with the drinks. Small menu, but worth the visit.
Best food I have had in a long time. !!!
Given the current covid situation, it's hard to get around all the obstacles the politicians have put into place for the small business owners. I understand how hard a lot of people in service industry work under normal circumstances, so I want to try and help them when I can when it's abnormally difficult. I wanted to treat myself to something special and from the hostess to back of house and everyone in between I was not disappointed in any form. My only regret is that I could not have given them more of my hard earned money as I feel they rightly deserve it.
Another great meal with excellent service!
Hands down favorite restaurant in Key West! Amazing food and service.
Always a great experience over the past years. Never disappointed!
Just average - expected more for Christmas dinner.
Food delicious nice presentation would definitely go back dessert was wonderful
Shrimp & grits was excellent. Very nice ambience.
Always amazing food and service . Our favorite restaurant in Key West.
Excellent food, wine, dessert, and great service! Did not disappoint!
I never write comments but had to for this gem . Food and our waiter Nate was amazing ! Not only he shared his cocktail recipe “ DUKE “ he helped us make the best menu choices . Highly recommend ❤️
I love them and their food was amazing. Personality plus 🥰
Both food and service were very good. The entire evening was very enjoyable and we would highly recommend this restaurant for a romantic evening.
Our experience was wonderful! the food was fantastic, the service excellent and the atmosphere charming. Wouldn't hesitate to go again the next time we are in Key West
If you only eat out once in Key West you should come here. Food was excellent and service beyond welcoming. Thank you will keep the memories forever
Very.Disapponted! We flew down for a weekend for our 39th Anniversary and everyone we know has raved about Cafe Marquesa. It could have just been an off night or our expectations were too high. Reservation in hand we were met at the door by a lovely young lady who quickly ushered us out the front door to some room random room in another part of the building. You ask...Were we dressed properly..of course we were. I told her that this was unacceptable and I made a reservation for the restaurant NOT an annexed room. We were promptly seated at a great table with a pole that blocked half of my view unless I looked around it. Perhaps one of the waitstaff had called in sick but our very lovely waitress took forever to take our order. The food was brought out promptly in a reasonable time. We ordered Oysters Rockefeller (Fabulous taste and presentation) and Crab Cakes with Spiny Lobster. The crab cake was pancake thin and topped with this mayonaissey glop that had not a hint of a taste of crab or lobster. I asked the waitress how the main dishes were prepared and she nicely explained the next course.
The extra ordinary thin slice of hog fish was delicious and on a bed or grits with a pea puree on the side. Very tasty except I felt like the cornmeal breading on the crab cakes was same that was on the fish. The waitress never explained the similarities of how the fish was prepared much like the crab cake and then there was more of the mayonaissey glob atop the pea puree ( the puree was delicate and delicious). The Osso Bucco had been deep fried with a crusty exterior and a dry inside instead of a moist and tender rich delicacy. Who ever heard of deep fried Osso Bucco with out its normal rich tomato gravy? When the waitress finally came back to the table she asked if we wanted dessert. We did not finish our meal as the disappointment just lead us to believe we better pay the bill and just go somewhere else. We asked for the check and it took forever to get our change back.
Celebrated our 55th wedding anniversary here. The food was fine but not great.the hogfish was bland and the Oslo buco was generic.
