I have been to Cafe Lucci a number of times, but never on a Saturday night. I was never aware of how uncomfortably noisy the restaurant was. This past Saturday it was so loud that it was almost impossible to hear my friend speak, and she was sitting directly across from me. We got there at 8:00, and I was hopeful that as the room cleared out, the noise level would drop to a more comfortable level. Perhaps it was the tables around us who were have lively conversations (or perhaps imbibing too much!), but the noise level never improved.
Food and service were both VERY good.
Worst Italian food I have ever had. The chicken was so tough that I couldn’t chew it. It was so noisy you couldn’t hear yourself think. I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO CAFE LUCCI’S!!
Café Lucci was amazing as usual! The food, the service, the ambiance all top notch!
Consistently one of our favorite places on the North Shore!
Cafe Lucci has bee one of our favorite Italian restaurants for the last 20 years. The food is always great, service is outstanding and the atmosphere is friendly and authentic. Highly recommend, this place always delivers the best pasta and fish.
Just might be the best Italian food in the Chicagoland area. The waiters are pros and food is 2nd to none.
we have been going to this restaurant for years It was not as good as it normally is, but still a great restaurant
Old school Italian restaurant that delivers wonderful food. You can tell this is a family run business. Service was excellent. Great list of wines at reasonable prices. I have been there three times and I will go back!
Excellent food and service.
Great, Old School Italian restaurant. Excellent food and choices and better service.
Wonderful as usual. Vitello Zinfandel, superb mushroom wine reduction-ahhh!
Service and spirits as ordered and staff very good!
If you’re in the area don’t miss Lucci...
We used to enjoy this restaurant for special occasions and a splurge dinner. We haven't been here for a while and so was disappointed as it was not as remembered at all. Service: fair. We should have been offered a salad or app prior to dinner order, or with dinner order and was not. The food came too quickly and was not as upscale or good quality as we remembered. Expensive for what we got.
Wonderful food and service
We had a reservation and we were seated immediately. Our waiter was excellent. He was confident in describing the various specials and entrees. The various courses were brought out at a very comfortable pace. you did not feel rushed or that you were waiting for an extended period of time. The food was fabulous. The salads were very fresh and delicious. My husband had a veal dish which he said was very tender. I had the Cavatelli Contadina (not sure of the spelling). It was fabulous. We certainly will be back soon.
Such a wonderful place to dine. Everyone is so kind and the food is absolutely delicious. We always have a great time when we come here. Highly recommended!!
This is one of our favorite restaurants and it never disappoints! Can’t say enough wonderful compliments about it, we go there to celebrate many different special occasions. Enjoy 🎉
Delicious Italian food and wine. Very professional and attentive service - wait person knew all the dishes and had the chef make a requested meal that wasn’t on the menu. Very attentive throughout our dinner. Delicious toast garlic spread for bread.
Cafe Lucci continues to grow on me. The staff is friendly, the food is outstanding, and individual requests that differ from the menu are always accommodated. Their wine list is crazy good and served in the finest stemware.
It is usually my first choice for date night, and my only choice when it comes to celebrating a special occasion or getting together with a group of friends.
Great food, Exceptional wine list, Fantastic service.....just a really amazing place with amazing people. Highly recommend
Can’t go wrong with food and service. Waiter know the menu and happy to customize items to please your palate. Nice that they have the prices on the specials list on the chalkboard. Serious winelist. I would the best California cab selection in the burbs.
Cafe Lucci is always a favorite and does not disappoint. Wonderful food and service, it is a throwback to past times that you would expect to find in NY or Boston. Just amazing food at reasonable prices in a true Italian atmosphere. A little out of the way for us but well worth the trip!
Food was great except the temperature was low on the crab cakes. The noise level was loud, seating was tight and dark.
As always we really enjoy ourselves. Cocktails and the wine list is fantastic. We’ll be back in a couple of weeks.
We got together for a ladies night. We were treated like royalty. They didn’t rushed as we spent the evening
Food was delicious.
Nice place in the burbs. A little out of the way but worth the drive.
The food was just mediocre and very expensive. We will never be back.
Our go to restaurant...for family, friends or just dinner. Service was excellent and very patient. Food is off the hook.
Nice place for Italian in the burbs. The wine list is huge but approachable.
Unfortunately, we did not have a great experience dining here. We chose to dine here with family who was in town and I wish we had chosen somewhere else. The service was terrible. The waiter took 15 minutes to even come to our table once being seated. He then forgot to take two guests drink orders, never brought more bread that we asked for, forgot one of our entrees (since he didn't write down all 9 orders) and half our guests food came cold. We let the manager know how displeased we were and he credited our bill $50. However, that didn't really make up for the rather unfortunate dining experience. I truly expected much better, especially since it was a recommendation.
We first fell in love with Cafe Lucci back in the late 90's. We moved out of the area in 2003 and were looking forward to going back during business trip through the area. Unfortunately, the wonderful table side garlic mash was replaced by a pre-made, cold garlic spread. The entrees were bland which was even more disappointing as we remembered the simple yet wonderfully flavorful main courses. The service and the ambience continue to be quite good. I will continue to recommend Cafe Lucci for this and for offering an extensive selection of specials and regular menu items.
We arrived and we were seated right away. The service was good and the food was delicious, I had the stuffed pork chop my wife had the rack of lamb.
We are new to glenview and are happy to find this oasis in the suburban food desert.
The most welcoming friendly place around. Excellent food and service.
Service was terrific, wait staff knew the proper times to ask for orders, check-ins were frequent, food was excellent. Good value...
Everything was good, the food, the atmosphere, the noise level. The only thing that I can say was bad was the service. There were 8 of us and we all agreed this wait was the worst we ever had. He was abrupt and didn't listen to anything we said. He would clear the plates before we we're finished. When taking away appetizers he would shovel anything bout eaten on to someone's plates without asking if that was ok. It wasn't appreciated. My brother's food came after everyone was finished eating. We understand mistakes happen but it would have been nice if we did something to make up for this. All in all he made what should have been a great experience bad. If not for him I would recommend this place.
Went there because of a friend’s recommendation and had a terrific meal. The veal literally would melt in your mouth. Our waiter was very attentive and spot on with menu preferences. We were there on a Monday and the restaurant was pretty busy. We would definitely go again when in the area.
Service, food and atmosphere, it was all fantastic!
All around great experience. A little on the noisy side. Great wine list that is fairly priced.
We met up with some friends and really enjoyed our dinner and drinks. The only issue was the booth type seats were uncomfortable. Other than that everything was great. One of the people in our group wanted something that wasn’t on the menu. They were very accommodating and gave him exactly what he was hoping for.
Great food, service and venue. Good place to meet with family and friends.
It was great as usual. We love the food and service. Keep up the great experience.
