I am so sad to see Cafe Josie close. Been going there for over 20 years. I wish them well
Great! Wonderful restaurant. Excellent food. I hope they go to takeout.
Excellent food and service ALWAYS! Love the small restaurant and supporting local!
Very tasty. Enjoyed the experience and coursing our the menu so as to taste everything. Got very noisy toward the end as the restaurant filled up. The beignets on the dessert menu were delicious!
beautiful atmosphere, wonderful service, excellent cuisine. Definitely worth a repeat visit!
Great format small plate format all u want is great
Excellent meal. Service was superb...one glitch, was sat at a table reserved for a large party and had to move...they were very gracious about asking us to move, etc. Wonderful time, wonderful food, and wonderful people.
Creative menu, attentive service, good prices. Worth a visit.
Great wine selection and the menu was outstanding
Wonderful Experience! Great server. A hidden Austin gem in Pecan square
This restaurant is a gem. Fabulous food, great service and simply a wonderfully crafted experience! If you haven’t gone...GO! I promise you will return again and again!!!
One of the best restaurants in austin!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We had the experience dinner menu. It's awesome! Great service and exceptional food!
It was a beautiful Day to sit outside and we did! Great outdoor vibe even located to busy Lamar St. Food was outstanding. Small brunch menu but you can also order from the all day menu. Highly recommend!
Wonderful dinner with my wife and another couple. We tried everything on the menu at least once, and everything was great. Brussel sprouts and the snapper were highlights. Will definitely go back.
Cafe Josie is an Austin gem. If you love tasting tons of different flavors, it’s the place for you. Every night is a tasting menu and you can order whatever looks delicious (and tastes as such). They are very friendly towards food allergies, especially celiac. The staff is always super friendly and the food is great. Never a bad choice!
wow... it's been years since I've last been to Cafe Josie and I regret not visiting sooner. From the start, we were greeted warmly and promptly seated. my dining companion let me know they had two menus, an a la carte or prix fixe, and while we opted for a la carte, the prix fixe options were amazing and offered incredible value!
As it was a wednesday, all bottles of wine were 50% off (AWESOME!) so at the recommendation of our server, we tasted and settled on a gorgeous Italian white wine.
We ordered 5 sharing plates (Deviled Eggs, Brussels Sprouts, Little Gem Salad, Verlasso Salmon and Tamarind Chicken). everything was absolutely wonderful, presented beautifully, and perfectly balanced flavors.
for dessert, beignets were the perfect ending to a wonderful meal.
I am sorry i waited so long to come back to this little gem off of west 6th, but I will be back much sooner! Wonderful experience.
Menu selections were sublime. Excellent service and quiet dining--a winner!
We had the chefs tasting menu which allows you to taste as many entres as you want kind of like Spanish tapas. We had 8 different entres and they were all outstanding!
Great selection of unique small plates. Also a really nice menu of craft cocktails. Delicious! The only problem is that you don't want to stop, so you overeat. Fantastic location, right in Clarksville. Love it. We'll be back soon!
Very nice experience. Excellent food and service. Fried shrimps were over done. But everything else was excellent. Definitely would come back. Love it.
Valentines Dinner! Love this place as they have wonderful tapas. They also have a wonderful wine list, the cocktails do need to be updated as many of them are very wild and unusual. For as many times as I’ve been there have not found a good cocktail. The food and wine are a must have.
Loved the new way of dining - the chef's preparations were awesome. We will definitely return and bring guests!
Dining at Cafe Jose is an experience. Much more than just dining out. My wife and I ate there for Valentines Day and it was absolutely perfect in everyway. To pick out any one dish as outstanding is impossible when each dish is sensationally. I highly recommend Cafe Jose.
Oh, and, if you get there early, you can save $10.
One of the best dining experiences my husband and I had ever had in Austin - we will be back!
Wonderful service and incredible food!
Love the way their menu is set up on weekends. We had to much fun trying all the options and enjoyed the varied flavors, spices and presentations. Only suggestion is to add a dessert option to the list! Loved the smaller setting and wonderful service. We need more of these types of local restaurant settings in Austin. A hidden gem!
SO delicious!! We went with another couple and did the $49pp option and, since there were 4 of us, we had enough mouths and belly space to try everything on the menu! Everything was so delicious but our favorite, easily, was the crudo. I think we had 4 of them. Unlike other restaurants where you pay a certain price and get exactly what the menu says with no substitutions/extras, it was so awesome that you could request more of something that you liked- or for next time- just order all of our top picks. Word to the wise though, if you go Friday or Saturday the ONLY option is to pay the $49pp, a la carte is apparently only available during the week. Totally worth the price in my opinion. The wine also was very reasonable. Definitely not cheap but a great spot for a celebratory dinner or special date night. Oh, and the peanut butter mousse dessert was AMAZINGLY delicious and somehow super light! Yum.
Great food. Excellent selection. Wonderful service!
We have eaten at Cafe Josie and enjoyed the experience for many years. Sat. night was the worst experience I've had. The salmon mousse and grilled bread was good. I'm unable to enjoy spicy foods so asked for no heat on the oysters or shrimp. The oysters were terrible - over fried. dry and I bit down on a shell or pearl. The creamed greens were very strong. I requested no kimchi or kimchi aioli for the shrimp and asked about other kinds of aioli. The chef refused to serve it with any other aioli and the shrimp were dry and bland. The ribs were okay and tender. The wait person was excellent and she mentioned they had a new chef on board.
The brunch experience was great! The variety of dishes was wonderful, the presentation was lovely and everything tasted fabulous!
Food and service were fabulous!
The fixed price, all-you-can-eat menu laden with imaginative, delicious selections is not only the best deal in town, but it is also the best meal in town. Vincent, our server, made the evening complete with his professional, pleasant and knowledgeable attention to detail.
Cafe Josie is just excellent. We did the “experience” and the choices were broad and every course was interesting and thoughtfully prepared. The service was excellent. Unlike many many places in Austin the noise level is low which is a welcome change of pace. Highly recommend.
We had the best time at cafe Josie! It was so fun to be able to share 10 different small plates that were all amazing and unique!
The brunch experience was fun! Lots of good food
Party of four and all of us were first time Sunday Brunchr's at Cafe Josie. Our server was knowledgable, friendly and guided us in our exploration of the brunch menu. We enjoyed a very tasty & leisurely 2-hour brunch. Our friends are from Houston and Dallas and both raved about the brunch and are planning their next visit with brunch included.
We always enjoy our experience here. The variety in the menu items makes for a creative and interesting meal experience. The shrimp were the talk of the night- just the right amount of crunchy, salty, sweet, and spicy.
