Cafe Gia Ristorante
It was the desire to share our Sicilian heritage and Sicilian cuisine that prompted the family to buy an older neighborhood diner and create a new, warm, comfortable family ristoranté in Little Italy, “Café Gia Ristoranté.” We have strived very hard to recreate a Sicilian bistro, a place where one feels like they are in Sicily while dining. Buon appetito!
Thin layers of eggplant, marinara sauce and mozzarella cheese baked til golden brown
Grilled sea-bass served over pesto risotto finished with a luscious lobster bisque
Ricotta Gnocchi with Shrimp
Homemade ricotta gnocchi, sauted fresh tomatoes with nduja (spicy prosciutto paste), baby arugula, topped with creamy burrata
The food is always fresh and delicious. Atmosphere is cool and low key. Love all the decor. Our waitress was slow in responding at times. I highly recommend Gia's and would return again!
Good food and value
A beautiful little gem in Baltimore's Little Italy! This restaurant was quaint, the staff was attentive and kind. Our drinks and food were delicious - we started with the Arancini - there were 4 of us dining and only 3 were served - we shared but it would have been nice to receive an even number or enough for all! All of our dishes were delicious, though a bit oversalted. We are already planning our next visit!
Delicious! We started with thee fritto misto. So light and yummy. Husband had the homemade gnocchi w/butternut squash......light sauce and so good. I had a pasta special of ravioli, again delicious. Portions more than ample. Alas, had no room for dessert. Would definitely recommend! Reasonable pricing, too!
Such an accommodating Maitre d'hotel and an attentive waitress. We were seated at a cozy table against the street-facing door that opens on to the sidewalk terrace. Unfortunately, the door is not insulated properly, and a rough, cold, chilling draft kept me shivering throughout my dinner.
A very nice salad was served.
So it was so terribly disappointing that the lasagna my wife ordered had virtually no meat, and was made with an inferior pasta that was so over cooked that it was like eating a cheese soup. My pasta dish was much better, but the portion was so meager, by comparison to the portion of lasagna served my wife, that I left the restaurant hungry.
Amazing food and great wine
Food was absolutely amazing. If you don’t try the sea bass and risotto you’re cheating yourself!
4th time we've been there. ALWAYS good food, excellent service, attentive staff. Highly recommend!!
Reminds me of a fine neighborhood restaurant in Italy
Awesome meal. Some of the most tender veal I ever had. Loved the fact that the owners made a point of stopping by a few times
We had wonderful food and service. I am sure we will be returning in the near future.
Amazing food, great wine and and very nice and attentive wait staff! Can’t wait to visit again!
Food was good. Service was sadly lacking, in a not very busy environment.
Great food!! Some of the best in the area.
Lovely place with very nice people, but the food was not up to the standards of other restaurants in Baltimore's Little Italy. Salad dressing lacked flavor, fritto misto was greasy, and the pasta con vongole was oily and poorly seasoned. It's a beautiful little restaurant, but we were disappointed in the food, especially when there are so many other great choices only steps away.
What a delightful restaurant! The paintings on the walls tell you right away that you're in a special place: the decor is like an appetizer for the eye. The service was excellent, especially from the woman who was taking care of all the diners without ever once seeming hassled or stressed, though she had every excuse to seem both. And the food was delicious, from the grilled octopus through the pasta main course to the creme brulee dessert. If I lived in Baltimore, Cafe Gia would be my go-to place. My three companions enjoyed it as thoroughly as I did. Three cheers!
I have dined after Cafe Gia about 8 times in the last 3 years and have always had a positive experience. The decor is charming as soon as you hit their entryway. The service is attentive and the food is delicious. It’s a quaint space and never too loud.
First time I try the restaurant. Food was great. Small place with great service.
Evelyn was wonderful! Excellent service and the food was awesome! We would definitely return.
Everything was amazing, especially the homemade pastas. I can’t wait to go back and try more dishes!
Always a good meal at Gia's!! The staff and service couldn't be better.
Gia’s has homemade pasta cooked just right, a wonderful grilled
Caesar salad, and many other wonderful menu options. The place is cozy, you can hear your dinner partners talk and the staff is friendly and efficient. Love it.
Charming southern Italian restaurant in the Little Italy area. Food is homemade and delicious, atmosphere cozy and service friendly with good wine suggestions.
They offer comped parking if you park in the Little Italy garage which was a nice gesture. We’ll def be back!
There were six of us and we all shared our entrees and it was nothing less than spectacular. If you want good old fashioned Sicilian home cooking, Cafe Gia is where you’ll find it. Not fancy but truly a beautiful experience. Order the arancini and octopus-they’re a must! Then go on to order the eggplant, osso bucco, veal saltimbocca and casoncelli for entrees. As far as dessert, the tiramisu and cannoli are THE BEST we’ve ever had! The atmosphere is so comfortable with the spanning wall murals and art top tables. Our server was attentive, made good suggestions and overall pleasant. It was busy but we still got served in a timely fashion. Thanks Gia for a fab dinner!
We love Cafe Gia. The food is delicious, the ambiance is warm and the whole evening was wonderful.
Amazing food. Good serving portions and quiet ambience
The lasagna was AMAZING! It actually brought me back to some lasagna I had in Tuscany last year - simply delicious. The only reason I can't give the food a 5 star rating is that the entree my husband ordered, which was the special of the day, was very bland - so bland that I think the chef must've forgotten the salt altogether. Otherwise, everything was perfect - great service, great atmosphere, and an outstanding pistachio liqueur which you MUST try!
First time I went to Café Gia. The food was very good. Unfortunately, we were seated near the front door. This was very uncomfortable due to the cold weather. That table (2 seater) should never be used in cold weather. There is NO excuse subjecting your customers to the cold wind coming through the front door.
Love this place! It is perfect for date night. My boyfriend and I both got specials and they were delicious!
All the items ordered were excellent. The quality was also very good. Excellent Tiramisu.
We just happened to find Cage Gia without recommendations. Glad we did, because I can now recommed it. Service was friendly. Food was fantastic. Ambiance was just what you would hope from a nice locally owned restaurant.
Cafe Gia is a cozy restaurant located in Baltimore's Little Italy. The hostess and waitstaff were friendly and attentive and the food was amazing. I would highly recommend the arancini - I could eat that everyday for the rest of my lifeee. I also enjoyed my entree - gnocchi with shrimp. I would highly recommend this restaurant!
The food and wine were exceptional as is the decor. Gia is delightful and her mom is a treasure. Cafe Gia has become my favorite restaurant in Little Italy.
When we arrived at the restaurant they seemed surprised that we had a reservation. They were evidently hosting several large groups of young people which slowed service in general and also resulted in a loud noise level which made it difficult yo have any conversation. The food was generally good, we both had veal. This may be an outlier due to their business that night but overall it was a disappointment.
Went for anniversary dinner. Food was delicious
Lovely venue. Fantastic, authentic Italian food. Very personable service, had a pleasant conversation with the owner. Reasonable prices and plenty of food. Great value, overall!
I don't usually write these. And I'm not one for whining. Having said that, I got the email to review my experience and so here I am. I rated food as a 1 because it was poor. The arancini was still cold in the middle after frying so its obviously frozen not made fresh. The gnocchi, same deal. The marinara sauce was like prego from a jar. The lobster mac and cheese special was uninspiring and really for 28 bucks it ought to be better. We spent 100 for three without drinks and it wasn't any better than Oli e Garden. They bill this place as authentic Sicilian. It isn't.
We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at Cafe Gia. It’s a comfortable spot, with friendly service and good food. We were seated upstairs and it was quieter than the main floor dining area, which was good for conversation. Our meal was tasty and well prepared. Nice wine list by the glass or bottle.
Friendly service, warm interior with welcoming vibes, really good food. Yes! Will come again and recommend to friends.
We go to the boat show in Annapolis. always spend our last day in Baltimore, stay close to little Italy.
My wife and I look forward to Cafe Gia every trip. Never had a bad dinner. Always the best!
