A venerable, historic institution on El Paseo. Enjoy consistent French cuisine and save on the airfare to Paris. Seating is hit and miss depending on your luck and the heat.

Cafe Des Beaux-Arts never disappoints. Salmon dishes both poached and broiled cooked to perfection. Jose was our server and always attentive. Excellent !! Like many of us locals we always return.

We enjoyed the escargot, rack of lamb and the puff pastry with shrimp, bay scallops and mushrooms ! Raspberry crème brûlée was a delicious dessert! The portions were generous and served by friendly staff. This cafe is a Palm desert gem!

Mother's Day is always a packed day for restaurants and I appreciate that we were seated exactly on time for our reservation. We both had the 3 course priced fix meal, and we enjoyed all three course (we had different cold soups to begin, followed by fritattas as our main courses, and crepes and an ice cream sundae for desert). All the food was excellent and convincingly French style. Our server timed everything perfectly and we never felt like we were waiting too long or were rushed.

I notes I was there for a birthday Celebration and I wasn’t sure if they got the note. But they were very stealthy and told me they had it all under control. I absolutely loved giving my little sister such a great experience for us to be in. The staff made it such a comfortable night. They knew their stuff when it came to the food and I was impressed. They were not pushy on checking up on us and it felt very cultivated to each party. I noticed they had regulars and businesses dinners and us all grated with the up most care and love the way they were ready with every menus as well. Definitely go here for a date or something quiet you’d be looking to take someone to spend time with and also feel meaningful.

My wife and I have eaten here numerous times for breakfast, but this was our first time for dinner. Cafe Des Beaux Arts did not fail to impress! Excellent food, courteous and very friendly wait staff made for a pleasurable evening. Will be back!

It was our bad luck to be here when the wind was crazy. Not good for a place with open-air dining. I will say the staff did everything they could to mitigate the situation by moving us to another table and, eventually, closing the windows. The menu is ambitious. My salad was huge and I would have been happier with half of it and a lower price. My husband's meal was also more food than a reasonable person would eat and oddly seasoned.

This was a return visit as this is one of my favorite Palm Desert restaurants for lunch and dinner. We and our guest were seated immediately. Although the patio area was comfortable because of the cool mist, we chose to sit at a booth in the dining room. Our waiter was right there to offer drinks. Our guest had the whitefish special which she enjoyed as indicated by her clean plate. I had the soup special, vichyssoise, it was remarkable as you might expect from this restaurant. We then each had favorites from the regular menu, always good. You will enjoy dining here.

We love going to this restaurant. The menu is very nice and the service is great. But it's time they renovate the patio which is where most of the tables are located. It's tired looking, dark and really needs a facelift!
