Famous for the wide variety of sensational cuisines found in its many restaurants, Puerto Vallarta is one of Mexico's premiere gourmet destinations. But, if you are looking for a Puerto Vallarta restaurant that offers fine dining at its most pleasurable, a visit to Café des Artistes is a requisite.
A dream come true for chef owner Thierry Blouet, Cafe des Artistes is one of the most renowned restaurants in Mexico. In its more than 29 years of service, you can expect exceptional service and a menu that will intrigue the most exacting palate.
Cafe des Artistes offers an incomparable ambiance that includes comfortable air-conditioned dining rooms, a high terrace under the stars, a lush outdoor garden that provides the perfect setting for special occasions or private events.
Amazing service and food. Very kind to accommodate the kids that came along.
Favorite restaurants in Puerto Vallarta.
It only takes one word to say, but I can use three words in this case: awesome, awesome, awesome!
Las creaciones del Chef son exquisitas y el lugar es muy agradable a la vista.
Amazing food and service. This restaurant never disappoints.
Great outdoor seating. Excellent food
Absolutely outstanding experience. Food, service, ambiance and violinist were all perfect. And the wine list... WOW!
Somewhat disinterested staff. Not everyone but the hostesses and some waiters just seem to want to rush your evening. And make mistakes such as wrong food delivery to a table and then take the food to another table. Seriously. In these times? That should never happen. Granted the birthday treat you receive is special.
Excellent menu selections and outstanding service in a uniquely beautiful setting
Thanks to Paulo for making things special
This place was amazing! I work in the business and was just blown away by the service, food, and the patio. Wow
Such a lovely garden with music and great food! Excellent service too!
I have traveled all over the world, and dined in some of the finest restaurants. Cafe des Artistes, was by far, the most romantic and well presented environments I have experienced. The multilevel out side terraces with lighting and music was magical. The food was exquisitely prepared and beautifully presented. Future visits to Puerto Vallarta will always include dinner at Cafe des Artistes.
We went for our 30th Birthday and Alexis and Marcos made it such a special evening. They took such good care of us. We loved our experience so much, we are going to go back on our last day of vacation.
This is an absolute must visit restaurant for people who love fine dining. It is our third visit and it still takes our breath away when we walk in to the garden. Very romantic, excellent service and delicious food.
Amazing atmosphere! Wonderful food! Delicious drinks!Great staff! Definitely will go back!
A very nice tasting menu except for the wine pairing which included a Menage A Trio red wine, i.e. a $7 bottle.
It’s the absolute best in Puerto Vallarta and has been so for years. Unbeatable service and the best culinary delights around. It is a MUST GO in PV
We booked for a Thursday evening around 830pm. On arrival we were offered a choice of eating in the garden or inside - we chose the garden and what a great choice this was. The setting is very romantic in a planted courtyard lit up by strings of lights with tables spread around different levels of terraces.
You have a choice of 3 menus - the tasting, bistro or a la carte and we chose the a la carte
We received a complimentary steak tartare amuse-bouche to start our meal from the chef.
For starter we shared a tomato salad which was fresh, delicious and full of flavour then I also had the caulifower explosion with a unique and flavoursm sauce and my partner had the pork confit taco. Well presented and delicious
We then had prawns cooked on hot stones for a fish course which was made at the table served with Barley and a tequila spicy sauce. Theatrically made in front of you and again delicious and fresh
I chose the mushroom risotto for my main perfectly cooked al dente and in a delicious sauce and my partner beef rib and filet which was amazing and one of the best dishes he has had - compliments to the chef
If that wasn’t enough we finished our meal with the flowerpot of three mousses well presented in a pottery pot and the meringue cheese cake
A great wine list is also available as well as cocktails and through the evening music plays from the piano and violinist around the restaurant
The service was attentive and friendly from
both Luis and Alexis who served our table and ensured we had everything we needed during our meal - thank you for looking after us
Dress code I would suggest for this establishment to match the service and environment would be a collared shirt and smart shorts or trousers. We will be back !
The food was over cooked, we have been dining here for years and this was the first time that we had to complain about the food. Our waiters were wonderful. Not sure that we will go back, lots of great restaurants in the city.
Great experience every time we go.
This was the worst tasting menu I have ever had in my entire life. The wine pairings were all extremely poor. A restaurant with these accolades should have the timing, service and food perfect. The octopus was not tender. The fois gras was terrible. I did not eat 3 of the 6 dishes. I am extremely disappointed in the service. They were over worked. Told us we were eating chocolate macaroons when they were raspberry. And sometimes never even told us what food we were eating, or any of the sauces. It was an extremely poor experience and I hope you improve in the future. I highly recommend not eating at this restaurant.
The evening started well. Service was very attentive, filling our wine and water frequently until our appetizer was done then we went 45 minutes waiting for our entrees and during that time no one came by to refill glasses. By then I was too frustrated to enjoy the rest of the meal. Left without dessert or coffee. If only a server would have come by to top our wine or apologize for the wait it would have made all the difference.
Le lieu est magnifique. Tentez d’avoir une table à l’extérieur, au jardin ou sur le toit. Le service est impeccable, la cuisine superbe. Nous avons été servis par Efraim et Alan. À recommencer sans le moindre doute!
The food and service was outstanding. We went for the tasting menu which was excellent but definitely too much food. I would order alacarte next time, and there will definitely be a next time!

A very good experience!! Danny was our waiter. He was very personable and made great recommendations.
We had a reservation and even with a bit longer wait in order to sit in the garden area, the wait to,e was minimal. The hostess got us a taxi with no wait...a nice evening out.. Thank you to all the staff and personnel.
Except for some very expensive "house wine, the food and service was superb.
Celebrating an anniversary and this place was awesome from the stellar service to the amazing and creative food and cocktails. They made a huge deal to celebrate us and I was so appreciative of the friendly staff
One of the best meals in my life in a truly wonderful setting
Food was adequate
Tomate queso salad very ordinary terrible quality tomates
Mole with the steak, was a very poor example of Mexico
The meat was perfect
Catch of the day great
It’s the outdoor terrace, and very good service
Manual and Marvin treat you like royalty. Best fine dining
The outdoor seating was amazing. Our server Marcos made the evening a night we will always remember. All of his suggestions were perfect and the combinations of special food and unique drinks made this experience well worth the price.
Wonderful place, outside terrace is magical!
Expérience globale excellente, notre serveur Jorge nous a donne un service exceptionnel. Belle soirée.
The place was beautiful and the special birthday dessert was lovely along with the violinist. The tuna appetizer was delicious. I felt the two entrees were only okay, not filled with flavor. The worst part was the attention of the server. He gave all of his attention to other tables ordering a lot around us. The place did not live up to our expectations.
This place is beautiful and the servers are tremendous. The food is quite good but they try way too hard to cater to those that like tiny portions on gigantic plates. I understand why it’s trendy. I wouldn’t eat here again however. It’s just not that good.
Thierry Blouet and his team are masters of their craft. With each visit, I am astounded by his menu. Their dishes are beyond delicious. I make an annual trek to Puerto Vallarta, and Cafe Des Artistes is always top on my list of what I look forward to. Make a reservation later in the evening on Wednesday, and come early to attend the Art Walk in the area. A great evening is guaranteed. Bon appétit!
la comida estuvo deliciosa y el servicio de primera. Lo unico que les recomiendo es que las mesas estén mas parejas, me toco una mesa muy inclinada y por momentos fue un poco incomodo.
Love this place. Sat in the garden area this time and it was superb. Waiters and wait staff were some of the best ever. Food was outstanding a well with a great wine selection. Highly recommend.
This was our third visit. In the previous 2 we brought our own wine and were charged a corkage fee. We brought our own tonight and was informed that we must buy a 1500 peso wine from their wine list and they would then open our wine for free.
This situation is not normal. We would normally have purchased another bottle as we had 6 guests. Unfortunately there were no wines in that price range that were acceptable to us. We did purchase a more expensive wine for about 2000 pesos ($100) that would be a $20 retail bottle in the U.S. We obviously had a choice but canceling the reservation would cost $60 per person. This restaurant competes with many other good restaurants who do have corkage policies. A good bottle of wine is important when we enjoy a good dinner. Wine lists in Mexico are poor at best so we always bring a good bottle. If they do not change their policy we won't be back.
In addition, the service was very slow and the quality of the steak served was poor. The other dished were acceptable.
Javier is very professional and polite. Serve with a smile and a lot attention. After 28 years, same charm and pleasure. Thank you for such an evening. We will be back again.
