Good food and service, good deal on Tuesday "date night".
We had a wonderful time with our group. It was for my birthday and Chris was very attentive to our needs. It felt like we were in our very own private room.
The grits, bacon and fruit were delicious as was the coffee. I really enjoyed my brunch - and our server (Jamie) was attentive and quite accommodating. Nicely done.
Took the family before a movie. The burgers were amazing, and our waiter was helpful and attentive. Will be back.
Best Mac and Cheese in town!!! A must have! We will definitely be back.
The food was great. We loved the shishito peppers especially. Our waitress was very sweet, but got our order slightly wrong and never came back to check on us. I ordered a salad with the dressing on the side because I don't like a lot of dressing, but it came out loaded with dressing (much more than I'd like). Also, my daughter ordered a burger with bacon and cheese, but she got the "classic" burger without bacon and with pickles instead. Overall, the food was great, so we didn't complain. We'll be back, but I'm hoping the attention to detail is better.
I like this place...good wine and food!!! Very comfortable...inside and out! Great BLT on wrap and curry chicken salad!
Had an excellent brunch last week so came back again for the french toast. The meal was room temperature and served without whipped cream (waitress then said they're out ), multiple people in the party did not receive toast that was supposed to come with the meal. My wife ordered tomato juice, and they then charged us $6 for "virgin bloody mary". Substantially different experience from our first visit - uncertain if we will return.
Enjoyed meeting the manager. Very friendly. Hope he signs up for the Open Table rewards redemption restaurants. I'd love to use my redeemed points there.
Open Table = THEY DON'T TAKE RESERVATIONS FOR LUNCH - ONLY DINNER!! YOU MADE ONE FOR 12:45 PM & WE HAD TO FIND OUT THERE WERE NONE. They were so crowded for lunch!
Happy hour wine and app was good. We got the Apple Brie Crostini. My main dish was the salmon, which was delicious. My friend, however, got the chicken and unfortunately her risotto was cold and pretty tasteless. Overall, it was an okay experience, but don't know if I would necessarily jump to go back.
It was okay overall. The spinach and artichoke dip had way to much pepper but my wife's steak was very good. We were there at dinner but I had seen raves about the curry chicken salad which is a lunch item. I asked and they brought me some which I much appreciated. It was yummy. I think probably much better for coffee and breakfast/brunch.
Curry Chicken sandwich was skimpy on chicken, eggplant sandwich was a greasy bun fried hard. There were no instructions let you know that you had to stand at the counter to order, AC was set too cold.
I went here to catch up with cousins that were in town. We were seated in a separate room which made it easy to converse & enjoy ourselves. The food was excellent & service superb. I would highly recommend this eating place.
Went for mothers day! We had a great experience, and the food was excellent. Beautiful space, loved the artwork. We will definitely come again.
They weren't very busy which I thought was odd but I haven't been there in a while and normally go around lunch. My panini I got didn't have the cheese melted in it and it kind of felt warm in spots and tasted cold in others. The waitress was very nice. My husband got the French dip sandwich and seemed to like it. For dessert I wanted the peanut butter cookie that I always get when I come here but to my surprise (again with them not being busy) they were out of the cookies so one of the main reasons we came here (and the cozy setting) was a little let down. It just seems that someone is not in tune with keeping the place operating optimally. For example I told the hostess after using the restroom the soap dispenser was empty to wash your hands in ladies bathroom. She said ok. This was before eating and then after sitting/talking with my husband and being done eating I go to use the restroom again before we leave ...still no soap. This time I tell a man that was unwrapping cups up front (think it may have been manager) so he takes care of but goes outside somewhere and then brings the soap bag. Again when it's not busy should be no reason due stuff like this in my opinion. Also with just general aesthetics I noticed where we were sitting at least that the art was kind of crooked on the wall like they got knocked & just needed to be straightened etc. I might come back for lunch but I think more competition either way on Midlothian but that cookie I'll be back for lol probably at lunch ....hope they see this review & create some awareness for them!
The server did his best
They were short handed so he was pulled in multiple directions
All the food was not delivered at the same time
We had a party of 6
The salad with salmon was just right and tasty. I would have been happier if there were a couple cheaper wine options. Also it was a little too loud for me (inside music, outside traffic).
Was seated right a way; however, service took forever. Appetizer was not good so manager did take it off the bill. Wait staff did not know menu. They could not help with wine selection.
The food was awesome, ambiance was very nice, the wait staff was attentive and efficient.
Great brunch experience! Food was awesome and the staff members were extremely polite, clean, and helpful. I'll definitely return. ☺
I love Cafe Coturra, unique seating options like couches and armchairs make for an unusually comfortable fit for me as I have a disability. Don't worry, if you prefer standard seating that is available as well. They also provide high tables for those with that preference and plenty of porch seating with mesh to keep out bugs and ceiling fans to keep the temperature comfortable in our Virginia summers.
The staff is lovely and will go out of their way to please you. There is actual art on the walls and the menu is fresh, local, and artisan varying from coffee and pastries to entrees like steak and inclusive with vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free options. I love this place and you will too. Not terribly expensive and worth the price, on trend but not trendy.
I can't say enough good things about this place. It's by far one of my favorite brunch spots. The manager (I am sorry I don't know his name) is the friendliest I have ever encountered. Be sure to enjoy a cookie while you are here!
Great service great food nice ambiance very accommodating for a large group
Food tasted fine but we had to return one dish that was very cold and another dish was just warm. All dishes should have been hotter.
Wonderful evening sitting my the wood fire, drinking a great glass of red wine and eating a delicious salmon dish...all in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. We'll be back!
My Friday evening group of 9 friends all enjoyed their dinners in the very comfortable environment. This was the first time I had been here since the expansion of the eating area. I also liked the new items on the menu and table service. I will definitely return in the near future.
Food was great servers were pleasant
Had to ask for quite a bit
Jam for toast
Great happy hour spot. Awesome priced apps & wine. Will be back.
Great place for a special event
It was a nice evening with attentive staff and good food. The cafe was not busy, but they sat us right next to two other couples :( Would have been nicer to have more space.
Have been here twice. One dinner they had a guitar player during diner, very nice. The second diner was by the fireplace in overstuffed chairs. Food was very good, priced well and a variety of specialty coffee and dinner drinks. Would recommend to my friends.
Excellent. Awesome service ! The waitresses were great!
Loved the brunch menu, some unique items, and beverages
I do not understand why they have Cafe Caturra on Open Table to make reservations when there is no reservation system. It is a walk in and order at the counter restaurant. It was very disappointing and we did not have time to wait in the long line to place our order. We left and went elsewhere.
Good choice for lunch - food was good, prices low to moderate. Nice selections. While they took my reservation it was a little hard to coordinate with the group since everyone orders at the front and the food is brought to the table. With a large party you end up with some members getting their food a long time before the entire party. Very casual and nice place though.
the service is always fast and food is always hot and delicious, staff is super friendly! love the appetizer choices and New Age Wine is one of my favorites, if you like sweet wine, this is it! The atmosphere is very warm, nice fireplace inside and outside and I love to sit outside on a nice day.
I enjoy dining at Cafe Caturra with friends during lunch, after work, or on my way home from the gym. It's a nice place to go if you aren't dressed up but still want a nice quality meal and/or a glass of wine or cup of coffee. Sometimes the food seems a little expensive for the quantity but the waitstaff comes to the table now at dinner instead of patrons ordering and paying at the register. That is nice. The noise level is dependent on how crowded the restaurant is. I usually make a reservation for dinner since the restaurant is very crowded at times. There is a chic neighborhood restaurant/cafe feel to this place that is nice.
Nice food & drink! just wish it been warm enough to sit outside!
Great cheeses good wine good service comfortable so if I just wish it had pillows?!
I would rearrange the way the sofas are but anyway that's just me other than that it was wonderful!" good bang for the buck !"
I have been to Cafe Caturra for lunch several times and have always left satisfied. I often use it as a place to meet business associates passing through the area. The portions are perfectly sized and I have nothing but good things to say about the food. I especially like the Ruben. I will be back.
