The pasta was so amazing! I had the olive one. My boyfriend loved the salmon. We thought the artichoke appetizer was ok. I will definitely go back again.
As always, Ca’Dario was outstanding. There is no question - you must go. Authentic and delicious - quite possibly the best food in all of Santa Barbara.
It was a nice friendly atmosphere for me and my two daughters. The food was wonderful! I truly enjoyed to portion size of the seafood pasta. I would certainly go again on my next trip out.
This is my "go-to" restaurant whenever I'm in Santa Barbara. Its a very popular place so be certain to make reservations. The food is consistently amazing and the staff is always very friendly and accommodating. Sitting in the back room is a little more quiet but the front seating by the windows is also great. A must try for those that enjoy great food and wine!
Restaurant was full by 6 p.m. on a Saturday night.. so busy and popular as it has been in business a long time. The menu is extensive and our food was excellent. It is pretty noisy and the tables are close together which is the only downside. So close to State Street, easy access to several theaters and shops. Service was excellent!!
My Favorite, Always 100%! Great food, drinks, bread and the best service always! Enjoyed the unusual and very delicious Canoli for dessert!
Cute small place. Very good service. Food was delicious - very rich flavors.
great food and great service everyone very knowledgable
The food is good. The service was fair. The noise level was loud. It was difficult to carry on a conversation. We may try the Goleta location next time.
It was my birthday and we said so when making the reservation, but we were treated like walk in’s when we arrived, so not the spot for you if you want a decent table for a special occasion. Over the top noisy- and I don’t mind noisy. Food has always been good but my gnocchi was overcooked to paste. I still like this place a lot, but I will not go at peak hours again. The stuffed artichoke is still the best thing on the menu.
The food was exceptional, the service by Holly was fantastic!
The food was delicious in this intimate Italian bistro. I enjoyed the smoked salmon penne pasta. It was fresh and very tasty. The salad was perfectly dressed and simply prepared.
Good wine specials also
Excellent food, consistently good, great place. The bread is amazing.
My boyfriend and I had an amazing time! We were looking to splurge on a great meal with wine to match. Ca’ Dario was the perfect setting and the costumer service we received was over the top which made our date night more than enjoyable. Our waitress also made her own recommendations in which we decided to try and the result was pure happiness. I would highly recommend for any couple seeking a romantic evening together with delicious food and an amazing atmosphere.
This restaurant never disappoints....always so deliciious. Ca Dario is my "Go To" place!!!
The food was outstanding. Always love the salads and pasta. Service was fine but would have liked a little more attention.
We have eaten at CaDario two years ago and again on our most recent trip to Santa Barbara and the food has consistently been excellent. We shared an artichoke antipasto and each had different pasta dishes - everything was outstanding! We live in the Washington DC area and enjoy Italian cuisine- Ca’Dario is among the best Italian that I’ve had.
We had a fabulous meal here on our trip to Santa Barbara. It was a Saturday night so very lively so glad we made reservations. One of their specials that night was artichoke with Polenta appetizer with olive oil/garlic sauce-it was amazing.
We shared the Pappardelle with porcini mushrooms. Again just wonderful the light tomatoe sauce did not mask the wonderful mushroom flavor.
We will definitely come back next time we come to Santa Barbara.
One of our favorite restaurants
The waitress was very nice and gave us suggestions about places to visit in Santa Barbara
First time to dine at the restaurant......we just moved to SB and brought houseguests
Food is consistently good as is the service. A little crowded as tables are close together.
Great food, spirited environment, exceptional servers
Love Ca'Dario for whenever we come to Santa Barbara for a show at The Lobero. Convenient and always a great treat!
This restaurant disappointed us. We have been coming to Santa Barbara for years but never tried it. We had a reservation for 7:30. We got there on time but did not get a table until after 8 PM. The menu did not match the menu on the web site. So, I was looking forward to carpaccio as described on line: thin beef with capers, onions and Parmesan cheese shards. Instead they served it with a prime rib style horseradish cream. Not traditional and less than perfect. I had quail with mushroom sauce on polenta. The polenta was lumpy Ana not very tasty. Service was only fair. I was truly disappointed in this restaurant. Maybe going on Saturday night was my mistake. I try not to go out for dinner on Saturday when restaurants are crowded and need to get the food out fast.
Wonderful restaurant, amazing food, great team service for the tables. The only drawback was that we were seated at a 2 person table adjacent to the door that connects the two rooms they have and that is also where the staff hangs out and talks and so it was really not a good place to enjoy each other's company. I should have asked if another table was available but didn't.
Fantastic bread, Seafood Risotto special, Ragu Bolognese, and a very good Valpolicella available by the glass. Portions are large enough to leave full, or stuffed. Quarters were mildly cramped, which isn't too unusual for Downtown Santa Barbara, but the ambience was great. A little on the pricey side, but has the quality to back it up.
We had dinner on a very busy Saturday night during the film festival. The place was hopping but very well organized. The hostess did a great job handling a lot of very anxious diners ! We were seated at the time of our reservation after a drink at the stand up bar. My bride had the Ahi special, I had the seafood risotto special. Both were well prepared and delicious. Our waitress needed a pair of skates to take care of multiple tables in both dining rooms but she is a professional and did a great job. We have eaten here several times and we will be back
Another visit to Ca'Dario before the Film Festival. We had a reservation and were kindly accommodated when asked to move from the very noisy back room to the main dining room. Unfortunately, like our last visit prior to the SBIFF, we had to wave down a server to take our initial order for cocktails/wine. And though the server did a fine job we were concerned that not enough attention was given to make our experience a memorable one. It appears that, again, attention to customer service needs to become a priority. Perhaps Film Fest week may be too overwhelming. Still hoping the staff can work on their customer service.
We love this restaurant and frequently end up there if we are in Santa Barbara at dinner time. The eggplant appetizer was delicious, as was the bread, mousse dessert special, and pappardelle alla boscaiola - wide noodles in a light tomato cream sauce - really good. The staff is very attentive without being intrusive, and were patient - my daughter is a very slow eater (it wasn't a busy night though.) In the past we've also had very good ravioli with crunchy sage and about the best mac and cheese I've ever tasted. This place is an easy walk from one of the city parking structures. Great little restaurant.
Our favorite wait staff in town make us feel like family
Meh. Huge piece of flabby salmon, frozen and tasteless.
As always food is good and prices reasonable. In such a small restaurant I'd expect the service to be more prompt and warm (friendly). Still good value and would recommend to others.
Love this place! Had it the next night through restaurant connection and food equally outstanding!
Consistently enjoyable, from the food to the ambience... but if yiu’re Looking for a quiet dinner this isn’t the place.
Noisy, over crowded tables, poor service, mediocre food This restaurant used to have very good food. Very disappointing
Despite having a reservation we waited almost 30 minutes before being seated. The space is small, crowded, and noisy however the food and service balance it out and make it a worthwhile dining experience.
Well...., what can I say??
Adequate, for a simple meal with friends.
Pasta dish for one of us, was delish. The gluten free pizzas forn3 of us, arrived on regular dough.
No one acknowledged the mistake. No offer to comp. No water refills. And, no service of refilling our glasses of our $80 bottle of wine. At best.... pathetic!
Get it together!!
Best of Italy in Santa Barbara
Wasn't greeted as we walked in took 30 min to get order taken 45 min to get food. Didn't even have what I wanted.
