We went on a Tuesday evening- crab cake special night. My crab cake was excellent, one of the best I’ve ever had (and that’s a lot of crab cakes for this Maryland native.) highly recommend! Wife enjoyed her shrimp scampi. My special was $26 - a very good price in this year of crab meat shortages and escalating prices - and included salad, entree, side and dessert. The interior had been remodeled since our last visit (pre-pandemic) - very pleasant surroundings. Wish all of the staff had been fully masked, but we didn’t feel at risk.
Our Waiter, I believe his name is Marco was fantastic, Food as always is Top Notch
Very nice Thanksgiving dinner experience. Only negative was the noise level in the side dining room (low ceiling) was quite loud. Will request main dining area when we return.
Thanksgiving dinner was just average. It was not inspiring. The best part of the dinner was the turkey soup.
Everything was wonderful, from the service to the food.
Our waitress was very attentive but not imposing. Food was delish
The house salad was so fresh and the blue cheese dressing was amazing. The crab cakes are huge and delicious. I tried my husband's crab imperial. It was full of huge chunks of lump crab - also delicious. Abner, our waiter, was excellent and so nice.
Food is not that great. Not worth the price
The food was luke warm and the server hit me in the head twice with stuff
Our server and the food were great.
I can’t remember the name of our waitress but she was awesome
Always great food and service. Food portions are large as well. You get alot for your money.
Always a good dining experience. We had an excellent server Kimberly. Food and drinks were excellent. Will definitely be back.
Ava was our server and our meal came out quickly and was excellent. We love this place!
I love going to By The Docks. This is my favorite date night restaurant. The food is soooo good and the service is outstanding.
Good menu choices, special nights always a good value, service very good.
We had a reservation and we’re seated when we arrived. The food is delicious and plentiful. We each had a different dish and all meals were excellent. Our server was friendly and did a good job.
Food was amazing, very hot, and it was super crowded but even with reservation we didn’t wait as long.
By The Docks is great food and you are always going to pay a little more for great food. This is a date night or special occasion night location for us. The rockfish with crab imperial is decadent and delicious. On this occasion we were seated near the bar and in the future I would ask to be seated elsewhere as those patrons were not providing the atmosphere we enjoy during our meals.
Upon entering the dining area l noticed litter and small pieces of food on the floor. l immediately notified the person who seated us and she got our area cleaned right away. Several minutes later a gentle came in continued to clean the other debut up. l don't like cleaning around me once l'm seated to eat.
They do not have their brunch buffet. So if you are going bc you saw the sign out front saying brunch is back it is just a basic order off menu brunch. Items are all breakfast items no real lunch items. A few of us got the seafood omelette. Had no taste. Breakfast potatoes were frozen potatoes with very little onions. No bread included with the on letter. They didn’t even have the good plates very well. Lots of space on plate very underwhelmed with meal.
Perfect night out with my Aunts. They’d been talking about crab cakes and had never been to By The Docks. I wanted them to have the best and they were not disappointed! Said everything that they tasted was delicious. We had the crab egg rolls, onion rings, stuffed shrimp, colossal crab cakes and chicken chesapeake. On the drive home they couldn’t stop thanking me for the best dinner out they’ve ever had. Oh and the cocktails, another hit! Thanks for helping to make my Aunties feel special By The Docks! We’ll be back…
As usual, fantastic food, especially the absolute BEST crabcake. Our server was super friendly and stopped back several times to make sure everything was perfect.
Great food and service !! Would recommend to anyone
This is always a great place we stop at, when we travel to Baltimore. The food, service and ambience is great as usually, but the prices have gone up consideraby. Check their menu before going to make sure.
Great food. Great service. Great atmosphere. Will definitely go again.
Great place a very good food.
The restaurant week lunch menu was a great way to enjoy our 1st time at By The Docks. Our waiter, Francisco, was, and is an asset to this establishment. He was very personable, and recommended the Peach Sangria which was delicious. The Maryland Crab Burger and the Crab Taco's, were excellent, and beautifully displayed.
The food was excellent. Their crab cakes are THE BEST. Have eaten here before and chose it to celebrate our Anniversary.
It was Baltimore County Restaurant Week. The place was packed on a Thursday evening and we had a 30-minute wait despite reservations. All understandable for RW. The service was very slow, but the wait staff was very friendly. Again, we understand. The crab cake was truly colossal, with a very good flavor. Thank you for not making the Maryland crab soup too spicy – lots of vegetables and very good flavor. Old Bay is in a shaker on the table, if you need to add more. Very good dressing on the salad. The lamb chops were perfection. We had a very good meal and will be back.
We love the crab cakes and the lamb chops. The service was great. Hey didn’t rush us when they probably should . Thanks for the attention to our party. We will be back
The meal was excellent, their crab cakes are some of the very best in the Baltimore area.
The service was outstanding. Our server was Kim and this was the second time we’ve had her. She is an excellent server.
Good food, with exception of lukewarm cream of crab soup, portions that are too big on entrees, meaning half our entrees became food for later... very loud and hard to hear each other.
Went for Baltimore restaurant week. The restaurant was very busy but our server, Leslie was outstanding. She definitely got her steps in that night. The food was just as delicious as usual.
Great crab cakes and Jambalaya.
Dinner was great. Unfortunately, we were sitting upstairs and they had a birthday party/dinner going on. The noise was a little discerning for the first hour. After that , noise subsided and we were able to resume the enjoyable dinner. Service was great, portions spot on and timing was great !!
Waiter was exceptionally attentive. Food was mediocre at best for what we ordered. shrimp scampi tasted like Lipton's side packet of chicken noodles with some lemon added. Stuffed mushroom caps were extremely oily and hardly any crab meat. Mashed potatoes were like instant potatoes. The only decent meal was the crab cake, which was very good. Again, have to mention that the waiter was awesome!
Food was tasty but the lambchops size have decreased since I had them about 4 months ago. They also were thinner. My husband ordered the calamari village salad and he said it changed in quality. Not as much feta, the tomatoes were not tasty and the cucumbers were too mature and not as crunchy. Also the dressing was different. The bread rolls were yeast rolls and not the crisp brown crusty ones as before.
