Great food and service. Always spotless and the seating is spacious.
I had the twin lobsters Monday night special. I thought they bland and really didn't care for them. I'll stick with my crab cake and fried shrimp.
The food was lackluster the best item that they had was the shrimp everything else was not good. Does not have a wide variety of food especially brunch items. Mainly just a small amount of breakfast items and Seafood
Great Sat.& Sun. Brunch offerings. Food was delicious and kept warmed on the serving tables. Good service and owner stopped by each table to see if everything was OK, nice touch!
Food was excellent. Got a Cosmo drink. Not so good. Recommend for great daily specials and desserts.
The food was superb and it is an excellent setting.
It was my first time here and it was beyong what I expected food was excellent the waitress was on top of filling our drinks I will be going back
By the docks have awesome delicious food. We always come here for birthday dinners. My only recommendation is that their side veggies need to be made fresh. Their green bean almondine looked and tasted like it was out of a can. It should be fresh.
A group of us went here for brunch the weekend after Thanksgiving. We showed up early and they had our table ready within a few minutes. Our awesome server Kimberly never let us see the bottom of our bottomless drinks. The buffet had a variety of seafood, breakfast, Thanksgiving, and dessert items. My favorite was the shrimp mac n cheese. At $30 for the buffet with bottomless mimosas and bloody mary's, this is the best brunch value in town.
Food was amazing as always. I got the lamp chops and crab cake, my friend got the porterhouse steak and a crab cake and they didn't disappoint us. The best crab cakes hangs down in Baltimore with all lump crab meat.
They were very busy, being a holiday, but we were seated promptly, and our waiter was wonderful, and the food was great.
Excellent service excellent food! We’ve been eating here a lot lately! Always satisfied!
One of the best brunch menus around for the price. Breakfast foods included all the classics, eggs, bacon, pancakes, sausage, and some perfectly cooked scrapple. Raw Bar was ample. Several lunch choices that looked delicous but I filled up on the breaksfast food and never had room! If you leave hungry it's your fault. Will definitely have to head back and go heavy on the lunch side next time.
Brunch was great!
I was here for the brunch buffet that’s 20$ per person. And you really do get a lot for your money. The food is mediocre, this is no high class establishment but it’s still pretty good. I loved the seafood pasta . I didn’t care to much for the pancakes they tasted like frozen pancakes but the French toast was good and was definiately home-made. I also loved the doubles eggs. Our server was still very attentive even though it was a buffet style brunch.
The food is always great. The crab cakes are the best in Baltimore. The salads are large with plenty vegetables not just lettuce. This past Saturday evening, my husband had the duck and he said if was delicious. Our server was very patient, went above and beyond and couldn't be more helpful. John, the owner/manger always stops by and asks how we are doing and how is everything.
Wonderful!!! We had the most wonderful server tonight! Just a sweetheart!!! Went above and beyond and for that alone, I’ll be back soon!! Celebrating my dear friend Karen’s Birthday and we had fried shrimp and crab imperial. Both were delicious!! Dessert was awesome too. I think it was called the “Bomb” but not sure. But it was yummy!! It’s a bit of a trip for me but well worth it!! Try it if you’ve never had the pleasure before!! Enjoy!
I can't complain! My brunch trip was great. Not bad for $20! I thought scrapple was outlawed but there it was calling out to me! Our waitress was very attentive and gave my guest and I time to talk between trips to the buffet. Around 11 the place really started to fill up. The bar was nice for those that had football on their mind. The drinks were ok. Not too noisy. If I had to knit pick, I'd recommend another brand of sausage for the buffet. I definitely will be back!
We had a reservation and we waited 35 minutes to be seated. There are two levels but if you are seated upstairs, you must come downstairs (about 20 steps) to get your food. The brunch price was $19.99
(all you can eat) and the only items of excellent quality were the steamed shrimp and marinated mussels. Most of the food was cold and of poor quality (sausage, bacon, scrapple etc.) One container appeared to have pieces of left-over french toast thrown in over bread pudding. My friend and I ordered cream of crab soup and a cake cake to go which was delicious. I would recommend going for dinner.
We love By The Docks. The crab cakes are incredible and reasonably priced. The service is friendly and more than accommodating. It was our daughter's birthday, and I called ahead of time to ask them if they could arrange for a cake to be brought to our table, and they had a gorgeous cake made just for her.
The food was excellent, the service was excellent. Can’t wait to go back.
This was my first visit and will not be my last. It was recommended by a friend and definitely lived up to the recommendation. Everyone was very welcoming and attentive and the atmosphere was relaxing. I had the Mediterranean Salad which was delicious. My friends and I were able talk and actually hear each other which in some restaurants is not possible. Will definitely go back. Looking forward to trying the many other options on the menu.
We REALLY like this place. The service was attentive, but not obnoxious , and the food was fabulous. We’ll totally be back!
Best crab cakes & fresh ingredients! Service always excellent!
This is a great place to dine at. Had a wonderful time and a great waitress.
I love this place. They have the best food and their service is wonderful. It's great for date night or larger parties. They are very accommodating.
First time visit, great experience, great food. We will be back.
Everything was ok until the waiter/owner turned on the AC
Great crab cakes, server and extra attention given to use for our anniversary
Great food and service for a reasonable price!
By the docks , the food was outstanding service was great
Service was very poor, man had poor training. Food was not even close to what we are used to having there. Was embarrassing to have brought customers to have a great crab cake! I don’t think we will risk again!
The food was excellent. Very tasty. Seasoned to perfection
Went for brunch with girl friends. The food was delicious however, the breakfast meats were cold. Seafood was fantastic! Bottomless mimosas were pre-made and mostly OJ. Waitress was spilling water and over-flowing the mimosas but did keep them coming. We wanted to hang out a while after we ate and asked the manager if we should move to open up the table for someone else and he said no, that we were fine to stay as long as we liked. Overall, a good experience and will do it again just not real soon.
This place is probably good for a seafood lunch/dinner. However, the Sunday brunch was so-so. There was a decent selection of food, and the taste of everything was OK, but nearly everything was cold. The obvious draw is the price and that was very reasonable. This meal should be a standout and the atmosphere somewhat better than "stuff them and move the out". Shrimp was cold and rubbery, mussels the same. Order your omelette when you first sit down (it takes a while); and make sure to tell them you want it cooked fully - mine was still runny in the middle.
At this point I’ve lost count with how many times we have been to By The Docks. It’s gotta be between 8-10 visits by now if not more. We keep coming back. We keep spreading the word about what an awesome restaurant it is to visit. Each visit has been for brunch and we have absolutely loved it. We will schedule our brunch before an outing or after and it works both ways. Yesterday morning we walked the Susan G. Komen 5k in Columbia, Maryland and all we talked about as we walked was treating ourselves to By The Docks when we were done. We talked about the huge food selection and good past experiences as well as the extremely reasonably priced brunch. We eventually had to use my app to change our reservation from 4 to 6 because others wanted join us. Open Table reservation in hand and we were seated immediately even though we were early. Staff has always been friendly and accommodating. Food is always delicious. Too may foods to choose from and that’s a good problem to have😀 . We try to get a little bit of most but never make it. Everything about the place screams welcome and please come back. I see the lighthouse on their first floor as a beacon calling all of us back. It’s like a home away from home.
The breakfast food and deserts on the brunch buffet were very standard and nothing special. The fruit was particularly soggy. The lunch/dinner items were incredible though. They had whole shrimp, mussels, and oysters that were great as well. If you eat these foods you’ll get your moneys worth but otherwise it’s probably not worth the money. Overall it’s not a bad Sunday brunch; just nothing super special.
This was my second visit and I was not disappointed. Crabcakes were wonderful, calamari was perfect and crab dip was beyond compare. I just wish it was closer to home, but the trip is worth it!
Great place to eat and relax. Highly recommended to other to try!
Best crab cakes I've had and others loved their lobster rolls; waitress very pleasant and helpful - a bit noisy because Saturday brunch was finishing up - but we loved seeing happy people enjoying good food and friendship!
