    The food and drinks were top notch. We ordered the filet mignon and the NY strip. Perfectly cooked! The salads and side dishes were just as good, but if we went back just to have the lemon icebox pie that would be A-okay with us. Sooooo good! Our waiter was fun and attentive but the hosts in front could have been more warm and friendly. It's the only blemish on a very wonderful evening at Butcher and Singer.

    Wonderful for a special occasion dinner! Gorgeous environment sets the mood. Tables not crowded together. Interesting music adds to the ambience. The food is outstanding. Everyone, from servers, to all staff, in kitchen and the grill, all care about bringing you the food exactly as you want it to be! Perfection all around!

    Food was tasty with several chef specialties. Server was friendly and offered helpful suggestions. We arrived early, since we had tickets to a show. They open at 1700 and refused to seat us before then. We were hoping to get drink and appetizer orders in early.

    Butcher & Singer is not a place I go to often but it never fails to impress and prompt me to ask why I had not been there more recently. Our server last night, Dirk, was the perfect combination of attentive and inobtrusive. And he clearly cares about his restaurant and his work. We were a bit more seafood focused, but a friend who went filet mignon raved about it. We also had a teenager with us, and he was quite happy as well. In summation, a Philadelphia institution that seems to evolve and maintain the highest standards. I will be back, and sooner than in the past.

    Dinner was excellent as always. My filet mignon was cooked perfectly, and I added the Oscar. My wife had twin lobster tails, which were large and tender. Corn, Mac and cheese, and mushroom sides were all delicious The Butcher and Singer Manhattan is one of my favorites. Our server was friendly and attentive.

    The atmosphere of the resturant is dark and swanky- nice date night location. We booked a late Friday night reservation, arrived on time and waited about 15 minutes for our table. Our server was cheerful and polite. We ordered appetizers that came out quickly and were delicious. Our main courses and sides took a long time to come out. The sides were piping hot and quite good but our steaks did not deliver. I ordered the surf and turf- medium cook on the steak with blue cheese topping. My steak was Luke warm - at best. The cheese topping was cooled, lobster tale was not warm and very over cooked. My boyfriend’s filet was under cooked and barely warm. Our server did not check in on us once we received our main dishes. A manager stopped to ask how our meal was and offered correct the undercooked steak and reheat my dish….overall we were disappointed that the sides of our steakhouse were the best part of the meal. We will not be returning when there are so many other options in the area.
